What kills more is not chaos, but rather the silence before the chaos breaks out.

It was this eerie silence that was prevalent in the court, as well as outside.

"Mr. Laksh. Do you want speak anything in your defense?"

Laksh shrugged and smirked at the judge. "I've got nothing to say. The blood on my gloves is of my boss. I killed him with my own hands."

An uproar could be heard outside. People were screaming for Laksh to be released. For them, Laksh wasn't a murderer. Rather, he was a hero.

A hero who slayed the tyrant that ruled their lives and made their life miserable.

However, a murder is a murder. No matter what. It was his mistake for taking the laws into his own hands.

Not to mention he had been a murderer himself.

To make the final decision, the jury had been engaged. And finally the judge read the decision.

"It would seem that the majority of the jury has decided that such a mass murderer as you must be put to an end. Hence, the court hereby declares that you shall be hanged as per law."

"Oh it's you."

She turned to greet him. "Hello Laksh. I...I heard about..."

"Man, don't shed tears like a weakling. You know I'm not afraid of it. I'll gladly accept my doom. I got what I wanted. So I don't fear my end."

"You could have let the law arrest him! But you had to kill him, didn't you!?"

"Let's not argue over this Ragini. You know I don't trust the law to be able to put him behind bars forever." he walked forward and touched her face from within the bars. "I don't want anyone hurting you. Now, you're safe."

"But you won't be with me." she spoke with a cracked voice. "Ho-"

"Ma'am, she won't stop crying." spoke a girl, coming over and handing Ragini a baby. It was not older than two years or so.

Laksh reached over and touched the child. "She's beautiful. She's got your features."

Ragini smiled at the compliment. "Thank you. Although I wish...I wish I could say the same about you. I wish she had your features too."

"Too bad I'm not the father." he spoke with a wry smile.

"Mr. Laksh Maheshwari?"

"Yes?"

"I've been sent by a friend. He said you might have some things you would want to record. Hence, I've come here to write it out for you."

"I do have things to say. Things I want to share with someone since this is probably my last night alive. But the question is, can you handle it?"

She smirked. "Don't worry. I've heard and wrote for much worse criminals before. I can predict all of your petty stories. Try me."

Laksh smirked back. "This is far from petty. Let me begin from the start. The day I met Ragini Gadodia, the cop assigned to get me alive or dead."
