Hello..

Happy reading

"So, the story begins."

Police station.

The inspector was on one side of the table and three masked people were standing on the other side of the table.

And you know very well who they are; they have worn masks so that Shalini cannot see their faces.

“ Kya hai uncle log , budhape mein jawani yaad aa gaya kya"

"What's this, uncles? Remembering your youth in old age?" the inspector said carelessly.

Shalini, who was standing aside and observing everything, got very angry at the inspector's attitude.

“ Kya inspector aapne batayA nahi , yeh log aap ke dur ke rishtedar hai “

"Inspector, didn't you tell me? These people are your distant relatives," Shalini said, glaring at the inspector.

"What, madam? Watch your words. These people are not my relatives," the inspector said arrogantly.

"Then why are you talking to them so kindly? A few hits with a stick will bring them to their senses," she said, glaring at the three men.

"Hearing this, Mahesh and Avinash became a bit worried, but Goutham started to feel happy seeing Shalini's bravery.

"See, madam, first of all, girls shouldn't venture out at this hour. Look at your friend who's lying there drunk. Do you know how many rape cases are filed in Mumbai every day? Why did you people go out at night?" The inspector said, pointing at Shalini and Jiya.

"You're right, inspector. Girls aren't safe in Mumbai at night. So, you tell us, is there any place where girls can stay safely? We'll shift there," Shalini replied, not backing down. She's not one to keep quiet, being Pallavi's best friend.

"And, inspector, you're also right that rape cases are increasing every day. But it's not just in Mumbai, it's happening everywhere, with every girl, molestation is happening,"

"A teacher was molested by four boys on a moving bus in Delhi, a 9-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her 13-year-old friends and her body was dumped in a drain in Chennai.

And then there was also a 5-month-old newborn infant who was violated by her own grandfather..."

She stopped speaking, and the others swallowed their lump  and continued listening.

"The change should not be in how girls live, but in how humans think. Especially, this change will have to come in the thinking of people like these."

She was about to remove Goutham's mask when Mahesh and Avinash pushed Goutham back.

"Praan jaye lekin mask na jaye ," Avinash thought . No matter how crazy their friend is, they wouldn't let Goutham be disrespected in front of Shalini, who is to be their daughter-in-law.

"Madam, we comprehend your point, and we will address this matter earnestly, but you should return home from here, because presently we do not have any female constable at our police station, and it is against the regulations to keep a girl in the police station after 6 PM without a female constable," the inspector told Shalini. Shalini glared at the three and departed with Jiya.

"Taawde, lock these three up," the inspector instructed his assistant, and immediately constable Taawde confiscated their phones and placed them in the cell.

After a while, Aman, Abrahm, and Arjun were called to the police station by phone.

**********”****" “" “" “" “

"I was in a deep slumber, and my phone rang. I thought it was a dream, but after two or three rings, it stopped and then started ringing again...

Then I slowly picked up the phone, and after hearing what the person on the other end said, I was shocked.

I immediately changed and hurried out.

As soon as I reached the police station, I saw two more cars there. It didn't take long for me to realise who's cars they were—Arjun's and Abrahm's. I ran inside and saw that my father and his friends were in the cell, while Abrahm and Arjun were glaring at the three.”

"What happened?" I asked.

"Can't you see? The police have arrested all three of them. I don't know what they're thinking, ruining our reputation," Abrahm started complaining dramatically as if he were Mahesh uncle's father and Mahesh uncle was his wayward son.

"Hein?" That was all my reaction.

"Look Aman, your father is ruining my father. Keep your father in check, or the consequences won't be good," Abrahm said again.

"Did you pass out or something?" I asked Abrahm.

"Abrahm, maybe you forgot that you are Mahesh uncle's son, not his father," Arjun reminded Abrahm.

"Oh, sorry, sorry, I got caught up in the flow and forgot that I'm his son, not his father. Hey, sorry, papa," Abrahm said, going over to Mahesh uncle and giving him a high-five.

"Ahhhhhh, what's going on here?" I shouted, to which Arjun very calmly responded.

"Our fathers have been arrested in an eve-teasing case," Arjun said very calmly.

"Eve-teasing case?" I asked in shock.

Arjun explained everything that had happened, and I looked at my father with accusing eyes.

“Papa, I am so proud of you,” Abrahm asserted while looking at Uncle Mahesh, who was actually blushing.

“After Grandpa, it’s you who has come to jail; it’s like following the tradition,” he concluded.

“Your grandfather was a freedom fighter, which is why he went to jail, but your dad is in lock-up for an eve teasing case,” Uncle Avinash growled.

"Don't you have any other work, Papa? I am not getting married, not in this lifetime at least, and what is this about chasing girls in the middle of the night? If you are so keen, then go ahead and remarry and find a bride for your future son," I said in frustration.

"By then, I will be old," Papa replied, and I started to really doubt whether he was truly my father or if someone had brought me down from the steps of a temple.

"For your information, we are already old people," Avinash uncle said, tapping Papa on the head.

"Excuse me, you might be old, but I'm not. If you want, ask my daughter Janvi; she calls me 'dashing sasur ji '" Mahesh uncle interjected, and I sat down on the same bench, holding my head.

"Inspector, this is my card," Arjun handed his business card to the inspector and immediately saluted him.

"Sorry, sir, I didn't know these people were associated with you, that's why I locked them in the cell. Taawde opened the cell quickly," the inspector told the constable.

*********************

"The three of them went together in one car, while I, Arjun, and Abrahm started in another car. Or rather, I should say that Abrahm and Arjun deliberately came with me."

"Arjun gently placed his hand on my shoulder, but my gaze was still on the road. I know what Arjun is going to say, but I’m not one of those who creates a scene by shouting and making a fuss.”

"Look, Aman, what’s done is done; now you  need to move forward in life. Whatever Goutham uncle did was wrong, but his intentions were not," Arjun said, trying to explain.

"Yeah, that makeup shop is truly a nightmare, so don't think about it. I’d say it's good she left you; otherwise, all your money would have been spent on her makeup," Abrahm said, and Arjun stared at him.

Suddenly, I stopped the car and went to check under the bonnet. The other two also came to check the car. Afterward, I jumped back into the car, started it, and drove away.

"F*ck you, coward!" Abrahm shouted from behind.

"But I’m straight, you f*cker ," I shouted back as I drove off.

" Yeh pyaar vyaar , ganton par phone mein baatein karna, ek hi cool drink mein do straws dalke peena , " baby tum ne kya kapde pehna hai , baby aaj movie chale ?? Babu tum se jo baat kar rahi thi woh koun hai ," yeh sab ab mujhse nahi hoga , these all are not my cup of tea anymore ..

"This love stuff, talking on the phone for hours, sharing a cool drink with two straws, asking 'Baby, what are you wearing?', 'Baby, shall we go to the movies today?', 'Who were you talking to just now?'all of this, I can't do it anymore. It's just not my cup of tea anymore.”

" Pyaar ka matalab mehngi gifts , ganton phone par baat , ya ek dusre ko Nicknames se bhulana nahi hota hai sir ,

Pyaar ka matalab jab hum tak kar Ghar wapas aa gaye toh humare liye koi intezaar karna , woh pyaar hota hai ,kande par  sar rakh kar duniya ki sari problems ko bhul jane wala humare ek hona usse pyaar kehte ,

Din mein ek baar phone puchna chahiye "  khana khaliya tumne ? " , agar kabhi partner gussa ho gaya ya ho gayi toh , galathi kiski thi argue karne se bhagair sorry bolke usse manana yeh pyaar hota hai , meri nazron mein”

"Love doesn't mean expensive gifts, talking on the phone for hours, or calling each other by nicknames.

Love means when we come home exhausted, there's someone waiting for us; that's love. It's when we forget all the world's problems resting our head on someone's shoulder; that's love.

It means asking once a day, 'Have you eaten?' and if your partner gets angry, making up without arguing about who was wrong, simply by apologising—that's love, in my eyes.”

Oops I forgot to introduce myself right , I am Shalini , Shalini Deshmukh..

"Well, we really appreciated hearing your perspective. So, in this round, we have selected 3 members. We will give the names at the reception. Better luck next time to everyone else," the manager said, and we all went back to the waiting lounge.

I came to attend an interview. In the first 2 rounds, I and 6 others were selected as well. Now, the last round remains. Successfully I have completed the group discussion round too .

The HR department said that in the last round, the major shareholder of the company, Mr. JD ( jitendra das ) , will conduct the interview.

I don't know people address him as mr JD ,I was in my thoughts and receptionist voice echoed in my ears ,

“ The selected people are Ms kashyap, Mr Verma and Ms Deshmukh"

Ok so finally I came to the last round. Once this round is cleared, I'll get a chance to work in my favourite field.”

*****************

"So Mr. Das, these are some samples of my work.

These include wedding lehenga designs. As far as I know, ladies can't use their wedding lehengas much because of the heavy dupatta and heavy blouse designs.

And that's how it should be, because a wedding only happens once, so all wishes should be fulfilled.

But we will also make an extra jacket with our designs, in the same blouse design but with simpler work.

So that they can use the lehenga at other functions as well. After all, in our country, we invest in weddings more than anything else, so this will increase the sales of your wedding collection project.

JD was spellbound by her research on their company.

"But Miss Deshmukh, how did you find out about our wedding collection project?" he asked out of curiosity.

"Sir, I will definitely tell you after 4 or 5 years, because I have a principle of not sharing my business secrets with anyone," she said while controlling her smile by biting her lower lip.

"So give me one reason why I should give you this job?" he groaned…

"I can simply use this idea," he continued.

"Of course, sir, but this is just one idea. I have many more like this. Now you decide whether you’ll be satisfied with just one idea or take the company forward with the rest of them," she replied with a mysterious smile.

"You really look like a photocopy of Vijay Deshmukh, my dear," JD finally blurted out his friend's name.

"After all, whose daughter am I, Jitendra Uncle?" she replied while smiling.

"You recognized me even after 15 years?" JD said happily.

"You also recognized me after 15 years, didn't you, Uncle?" she replied with a smile.

"But I'll only give you this job on one condition," JD said with a slightly stern expression.

"Yes, sir," Shalini replied seriously.

"You have to bring me a lunchbox every day. Deal?" He said seriously, but Shalini chuckled a little.

"Deal, Uncle. From tomorrow, I'll cook for three people instead of two," she said while shaking his hand.

"Who are the two?" he asked.

"Me and my roommate, Jiya."

And so, they both inquired about each other's well-being, and JD, aka Jitendra Das, asked about Shalini's family. Then, he appointed her to the designers' department.

But little did he know, this was the beginning of a storm in his peaceful life. And the name of that storm is Aman Sharma.

*******”*****" “"

"No way, JD, that's not possible. There are already more than 30 girls in the office, and sometimes I even doubt if there are any male employees other than me," Aman scoffed at JD.

"What do you mean? I'm a male employee too, and so is Jay, and... and... and..." He started thinking about which male employees are there in the office besides the three of them.

"In the Arts department, there's Chandra, and in the Designers department, there's Vishal. Apart from them, there are no other male employees in this office," Aman reminded him.

"So what's wrong with that? We mostly work on beauty products, wedding collection projects, designer dresses, different jewellery collections, so having more female employees is a blessing," JD explained.

"May I come in, sir?" A sweet voice came as someone knocked on the door. When he turned around, he saw Shalu standing there with some files in her hand.

As soon as Aman and Shalu saw each other, they both immediately said,

"You here?”
