Since annika has suffered a specific amount of blood loss , her condition required a donor soon but since that particular blood group was rare ,it was  difficult for the blood banks to find a solution .

With the registered details in hand , they were even trying to reach the donors who had donated that  blood group  in the past.

He put the mobile in silent mode and slid it into his pocket . Just when he was trying to open the door  it seemed to have jammed , paving no way for him out of his cabin . He even tried using his both the hands for the knob moved perfectly but the door remained unopened. Being frustrated , he just banged his palm on the door .That's exactly when the cordless in his cabin rang . Letting a deep sigh , he walked back to his table.

S- hello.

R- baiya , it's an emergency . I need your help !

Listening to Rudra's tensed voice , shivaay got worried.

S- kya huwa Rudy ?

He questioned developing a serious tone.

R- we need a B- ve blood donor . My friend received a call from the hospital before sometime but since he is mildly drunk , he can't donate blood now. Isliye

S- ok Rudra relax , I understand the emergency. Mein chaltha hoon vahan , I'm B-ve too .

R - haan I knew ,that's why I was trying for your mobile all these time but you didn't pick up .

S- sorry , silent mei tha . Teek hai , which hospital ?

R- abc hospital .

S- fine , aur haan I want you out of the club now . Bas , get in the car and reach home. I'll check with the driver , so don't try to fool me .

He ordered making a strict tone .

R- ji baiya .

Though Tej wasn't very ease in letting shivaay ignore this important meeting , he approved understanding the emergency .

S- excuse me .

' yes sir ? '

S- I'm a B-ve . I've come to donate blood , actually there was a call and

' oh thank you so much for coming sir , take the lift and go to the third floor . I'll inform the doctor '

The reception interrupted to thank him and immediately dialled to pass the information. He nodded and walked towards the lift.

He lied on the bed kept aside the actual patient who required blood , between them ran a stand with green screen which made it hardly possible for him to see anything that side.

The red stream ran through the thin pipe to reach her veins. Her wounds had been treated by now . Sutures were done, six stitches on her forehead near the temple region while two on her chin edge . Big tight casts done to support her fractured right arm , completely pale and weak ,she looked.

He was staring at the ceiling when  something hit his mind hard . The same hospital ...? He remembered.

It was like some third power dominated to work and push him here in this particular hospital somehow .

The jammed door , Rudy and his drunken friend, everything fell on the right place to put him here now, only if his mind even realized anything .

After sometime , the Doctor came and removed the needle injected to the vein of  his lower arm .

' we're really thankful for what you have done sir '

Shivaay just nodded and continued rubbing the spot with a cotton .

' Doctor , these are the patient's belongings '

The nurse just came from the other side of the room with clothes and a bag with her .

' her relatives haven't turned up yet , so keep  these things somewhere safe for now . And  one more thing, no more dosages for tonight '

' ok Doctor '

The nurse replied and walked past the other two when a sudden blow managed to swing the clothes in her hands that the most thin fabric among it came straight to reach him and cover his head who was sitting by the edge of the bed .

' sorry sir '

She was about to collect the shawl back but his firm grip on it didn't let her pull it back .

He slowly removed it from his head for his hands started shivering already noticing the pink fabric covered with blood stains here and there . He looked horrified remembering the flashes of today's occurrences at home with her . It , it looks the same.

At once he jumped to get up and ran to the other side only to freeze when the mere sight of the patient reached his pupils.

The sight of she being harmed terribly tore his entire self apart and crushed something below his chest at that moment . Before he could realize, his legs took him near her . Scratch marks on her face , big white dressings tied , everything burried a crucial ache within him permanently.

S- doctor ...!

He shouted for the Doctor landed there  immediately.

S- what happ happened to h.er ?

Still looking at the wounded her , he struggled to put up these words .

' you know her ?'

His overloaded eyes dropped down the tears in a mild flow when he nodded with his sight fixed on her.

S- my wife .

That just came out as a whisper when his vocal cord betrayed him from voicing anything.

' it's an accident case ,'

The Doctor stopped noticing his immediate glare . She grasped that he didn't like the pronoun she used .

' I mean , your wife had suffered an accident last night . Right upper arm fracture , incised wound on forehead , a laceration on the left knee but thank God there's no damage to the skull or any severe internal bleeding . Aur aap blood bi de chukke hain , so she's fine now.She'll come around by the next morning , don't worry '

As the Doctor read out from the case pad , shivaay looked extremely saddened.

His glands kept refilling the layers of his eyes with tears which blurred his vision like anything . Those tears weren't instant rather some slowly developed feelings of pain and fear which flowed down his cheeks continuously.

It's something else which his heart was experiencing now , never had ever the organ bled with such an ache within . The sight of her immobile body literally was  unbearable for him.

His respiratory system was working imperfectly,  he could sense those uneven breaths he's taking now . A complete disaster of feels took over him .

He was extremely angry on himslef , having his own reasons. If only he had agreed to her , if only he had accompanied her to the function , she would have not been in this condition. Even when there was a call from the hospital, he had acted senseless . He blamed himself for putting her in this state .

Bending on his knees , he clasped her hand which rested on the bed to press continuous kisses on those red marks over the peeled skin . He cried.

S- I'm sorry anni.ka, sorry , ...sorry !

Morning

Whole night he had been awake , surrounded by pain on one side and guilt on the other. Those brutal wounds on her hands and face certainly syringed out something from his existence .

She is no more the same annika whom he had known as charu's sister . Much and more has grown his feelings for her , he realized.

Watching her to have still not awaken , he got worried . Thinking of speaking to the Doctor once , he stood up when suddenly their clutched hands gained his attention . He could actually feel the subconscious her holding on to his finger with the least grip she can afford. There appeared a weak smile on his face before he bent to plant a tender kiss on her hair .

Annika felt a harsh pain on her knee when she  opened her eyes slowly. There was hardly any energy in her body that she couldn't even leap up and sit back properly.  She stayed to bed . Then her eyes wandered on the wounds on her palm and the band running around her neck to support her right arm , she sighed taking a gulp as even a least movement can create a mass pain there .

That's when she noticed the same nurse to whom she had spoken yesterday to be coming inside the ward . The nurse kept the dressing kit aside and stood beside the bed .

' let me know if there's bleeding anywhere '

Saying this she checked all the dressed spots to be in good condition.

A- I'm ok... , didn't you call my husband last night .

Annika questioned looking around the room to find none.Her mild weak voice remained  hardly audible , if not the nurse had stood close she wouldn't have heard anything .

' nahi mam , I called for the number which you mentioned . But he didn't respond properly , he thought someone was playing a prank and he just hung up . Even after that I tried to reach the number but there was no response. Then , last night I was put on duty at the pathology block suddenly. Isliye vahan chali gayi thi mein , sorry . '

A- no it's ok , not your fault.

Annika replied immediately .

Then the nurse left from there after stating that the Doctor will be there after completing the usual rounds .

Annika's eyes were almost filled with tears by now . A whole night she has been away but he seemed to hardly care of it . 

She closed her eyes tight for once to retain the wetness within her orbs and opened them again to only witness him rushing inside watching the awaken her .

S- anni , you're alright. Tumhe kuch nahi huwa ,tum bilkul teek ho ...!

He smiled at last , after living the most dreadful hours of his life , he found a slow peace engulfing him now . When he was just going to touch her face , she suddenly turned looking away , leaving his palm stay off without feeling her skin within.  He felt hurt .

A- when did you come ?

She enquired still looking away from him .

S- kal raath .

Came his reply immediately. Hearing this , she just pressed her lips tightly and bit the upper lip to control her sobs.

A- there's no need to lie  to me shivaay .

He frowned a bit .

S- annika , sach mei .

A- please don't lie shivaay . You want me to be truthful right ? Weren't you angry on me  for lying to charu yesterday? You're doing the same now .

S- annika, kis baath ko kahan le jaa rahi ho ? Please tell me that you're fine now , kahin dard

A - what I'm asking is also important shivaay . Because tumhe tho kabhi mujpe barosa nahi tha na ? Even when charu put such a blame on me , you were silent.  Maybe you believed her too .

She interrupted him in the middle to express this  while he shook his head  ,negating.

S- aise nahi hai annika .

A- aisa hi hai ! charu ne kaha , and you believed. Haina ? She's one stupid of haste shivaay ...! She'll come crying to apologise after doing everything, aisehi hai vo . I agree that I did wrong , but how can you even judge me like that ? Is that all you have known of me ?

Her cracked tone did no good to him .

S- annika , mein

A- and , the nurse told that you hung up without even listening to her last night . You never wanted to believe me , kyun shivaay ?

S- anni ,

He was devoid of any words which could convince her now because he knew what a senseless idiot he had been.

A- maybe video call karni chahiye thi muje , dar gayi thi kal , bahut dard ho raha tha na. I ...I almost thought ki I was 

She sniffed wiping the tears which ran below her temple to wet her hair while he immediately bent close and tried cupping her face .

S- what are you saying annika ? Aise kaise tumhe kuch hojathi...!

He felt his heart struggling in ache when she pushed his hand away slowly without even sparing him a glance.

A- please shivaay , ye formality vala feelings nahi chahiye muje .

Shivaay stood numb . The girl who never hurts him , the girl who can never see him in pain was actually behaving like this ....? He had caused a deep wound inside her , if not then there's no way she would react to him like this . He knew .

S- you're misunderstanding me annika .

A- yes , I've been misunderstanding you all these days . I thought some day or the other , we , we both...but , it's ok . Maybe all this happened for me to realise things. It's ok shivaay , I shouldn't have expected anything. After all , our's was just a ...a what to say ? An imposed marriage ?! We didn't have any other option that day.  It's not compulsory that you have to stay in this imposed relationship , ham divo

S- bas !!

He shouted and punched the wall in full force for those red drops of blood to ooze out from his knuckles immediately. No , he can't let her complete the sentence.

A- shivaay !

She shrieked and gasped  on watching him do that . If only she was able , she would have already ended up near him by now . He kept shaking his hand and crushed his eyes in pain.

S- you can't just judge me and my emotions like this annika. You might be the best psychiatrist but you just failed to know me , read my feelings and emotions. You hurt me badly annika , I ...I didn't know you'd do this . I , thought ,...

He shouted expressing his hurt self while she looked at him in worry and cried.

A- you always do this shivaay , when I come forward to express ...to tell what I think , you just throw words on me that I start feeling guilty .

S- you weren't expressing , you weren't telling . You were blaming me ! My true emotions !
