Gauri juggled a crying aryan in her arms continuously and dialed for Annika. Two full rings and still no answer, she thought to give up but tried one last time. She picked just before the last ring.

A- sorry gauri kaam tha.

G- sorry for disturbing bhabi, need a small help. Can you get me an appointment with a pediatrician you know , seems like our family doctor has gone for vacation. I couldn't reach him.

A- why is our bubble boy crying?

G- he's got fever bhabi, I don't know what happened.

A- ok... ok you don't worry, I know someone at the City hospital I'll talk to her. Tum vahan aajana mein bi aajaungi.

G- please bhabi it's ok, I don't want to disturb you. I'll take care, you don't have to come.

A- gauri, lunch break hi haina tho teek hai. Give me a call when you reach there.

G- sure, thanks bhabi.

Charu clearly sensed that something was wrong with Adi, he seemed angry actually. They had given all the tests and were asked to wait a few days for the result. She tried to pace up with him and hold his hand but couldn't.

C- what's it Adi?

Ad- please charu not now, I don't want to make a scene here.

C- you're angry on me?

Ad- haan tho !

She almost jolted back a little bit when he shouted like that.

A- gauri you do one thing, take him outside. I'll buy the medicines, bahut ro raha hai vo. Injection does this to a child, you know when I was a kid I used to pinch the nurse it seems , seeing her come up close to me with that syringe.

G- bhabi you really are unbelievable!

They both laughed, aaryan cried louder as if he was trying to grab their attention.

A- oops sorry sorry aaru, so bad of us for laughing now. Gauri you go with him, I'll come.

G- hmm.

C- what did I do?

Ad- seriously charu? What's the hurry now? We're just married, I don't see any reason why we should be taking this much stress all for now. We could've waited. You're hurting yourself and me as well.

Charu looked around and wiped her tears immediately.

C- you don't understand Adi. It's ok, here after I... You don't have to come, I'll

Ad- Charu don't talk like stupid. What I'm saying is, we should give this all sometime.  There's no hurry.

C - and what if it gets too late? And mein...what if nothing works out for me IVF IUF, nothing? Kya hoga, kaun hamari help karega! We shouldn't waste time Adi.

Adi frowned at her immediately.

Annika who had bought all the medicines came to the corner and waited for the lift.

Ad- tum kehna ka chahthi ho charu? Kuch bhi karke you need a child  , haina. Now I get why you were quiet when the doctor asked if we know someone who could help us with surrogacy. You think you can ask Annika to be the surrogate mom for our child, am I right?

He followed charu's shocked sight to find Annika standing outside the lift, and here he had muttered everything without realizing that the door went open already. Both stared at Annika blankly. Just then the carry bag tore and the tablets fell on the floor. Adi put his hands before to stop the doors from closing and came forward to help her. He put all the things in another bag and pulled her inside .

Ad- you're ok, fever hai?

He enquired before touching her forehead and neck, all the while Annika kept staring at nothing but charu.

A- you're going to opt for surrogacy?

She asked looking at charu who stood like a stone , controlling her tears.

Ad- Annika , shivaay kahan hai?

A- I heard it, tum actor nahi ho so don't pretend.

She warned him clearly, he looked away.

Ad- nahi... no decision taken yet. The doctor was just telling us about treatments  , possibilities and the success rates. And I told the doctor myself , that we can't go for surrogacy.

There was still no word from Charu, Annika grew nervous. She went near and stood with her.

A- charu... you know right I can't keep things to myself. I don't know if I had to hear this but mein sun chukki hoon so I'll be honest with you now itself. If ... if you think mein... think I'll be the surrogate mother, I'm sorry mein ye nahi karpaungi
tumhare liye.

Adi kept watching charu worriedly who didn't seem to move only.

A- in other circumstances, and if there was no other choice shayad mein... tab bhi pata nahi muje but now I have shivaay with me. We, we both are yearning for a baby ourselves, aise situation mein... you understand right... mein bi ... Maa told me how difficult you're feeling right now but

C- bas kar annika, please.

The elevator stopped, charu was the first to step out. Annika and Adi followed her quickly.

A- charu,

Ad - charu ruk!

He held her hand to stop her, she was crying terribly seeing which Annika became guilty.

A- charu...

C - what do you think Annika, that I'll beg and force you to help me in this? utni badi heartless selfish stupid hoon na mein?

A- nahi... no I

C  - mein maanthi hoon I've been like that to you since forever but as a girl, as a woman even I understand things annika. Aur ... aur tum meri behen ho, how did you think I'd force you into this? I care for you genuinely. Isliye tho I told mom to not tell you anything, you've been through enough already because of me. I didn't want to drag your or shivaay into my problems anymore. If they conclude that I can never conceive

A- charu

C- wait, if that is the case I am even ready for adoption.

Adi was stunned immediately, she looked at him and smiled weakly.

Ad- tum bi... even you don't trust me haina.

He shook his head and was about to say something but annika went way ahead and hugged her . She was so tight and desperate that if not for Adi who had caught both the girls at the right time, they'd have fell only.

A- I'm sorry, so sorry. Oh my god, what did I even do... sorry charu.

Both were very emotional, they cried holding onto each other .

A- sorry... sorry.

Adi who couldn't hold back anymore, joined them too. He kissed charu's cheek and muttered sorry.

Ad- sorry charu, I shouldn't have reacted like that.

The three stood like that for a few more minutes until they heard a voice.

G- bha... bi?

She couldn't comprehend which hand was annika's actually  ,too many hands and heads attached on each other. They pulled back after seeing her there, charu signalled 'it's ok ' when annika expressed her guilt again.

A- hey gauri, nothing I saw them here  suddenly tho senti ho chukki hoon. Bidaai feels you know?

Gauri nodded her head slowly while Adi cringed at annika.

Ad - wow look who's here, aaru!

He forwarded his arms but aaryan denied and stayed with his mom only.

C- is he ok? he seems dull.

G- fever hai but he's better now.

To surprise them all, aaryan leapt  reaching out for charu suddenly. Gauri was confused but approved and handed him over to charu. Everyone smiled at once when he started fidgeting and playing with the sequence work etched on charu's dress.

A- we should be very careful Gauri. Duniya bool jatha hai ye jab kuch  samne chamakthi hai tho . We have to ask his teachers to not wear such kind of clothes when he starts going to school, bubble boy war shuru karega if they don't come to him.

They all laughed when she completed, Aaryan was busy in his own world though, he loved being distracted by those shiny shiny things .

A- mein kitni boori hoon na, if anyone had done this to me, mein kitni hurt hoti. I shouldn't have judged her like that. I behaved like a monster.

Leaning on his arm, she narrated everything and expressed her guilt, he listened to everything quietly while working on his laptop.

S- hmm

She pinched him immediately.

S- ahh!!

A- hmm matlab? Can't you be a little considerate and tell that ' it's ok annika it happens , you thought about yourself and misunderstood charu for once . It's not wrong ' something like that!

Annika said those words slow and steady as though she really was consoling someone, and rushed the ast words in hurry to scold him. He kept rubbing his thigh hard.

S- sss... It hurts.

A- muje bhi tho

S- annika there's nothing to feel sad in this, you all did good actually, everyone came out clean and frank. In fact I know her, charu is very practical she knows what she can ask of you and what she can't.

A- exactly, see even you know her very well, par mein

She looked up at him when he intertwined his fingers with her's.

S- I'm really happy , finally you have learned to prioritize yourself, put yourself before her .

A- hmm... hame bi tho bacha chahiye na

S- yes, we need our baby.

A- shivaay screen dek, you've typed we need our baby under structural norms.

He shook a bit when she screamed suddenly.

S- kahan ! Oh God I sent the file already.

He then used ctrl+F to search the word baby, but there was none. Annika was found laughing when he turned behind to look.

S- Annika...!

He started tickling and giggling her immediately while she struggled to cope up.

A- shivaay... shivaay wait!

Annika couldn't control her laugh at all. Only when his communication app in the laptop gave a notification sound , he stopped troubling her and resumed his work.

A- thank god.

She breathed out heavily and started laughing again, he wondered why.

S- what now?

A- I remembered something, pata hai what Adi said then? He, he was literally scolding God for not letting males get pregnant , he was fighting for equality.

S- seriously, Annika are all your friends like this?

She glared when he signalled pointing the head and laughed.

A- like genius? Yes.

S- obviously.

He shook his head in disbelief, she quickly sat up and came forward to settle with him on the bed.

A- shivaay shivaay , I forgot to tell you something. I have applied for PG, corres me karna chahthi hoon.

Shivaay stopped doing anything and looked at her.

S- wow ani that's really great! How come suddenly tum...?

A- not suddenly, I had always wanted to do this. But when I completed college, I didn't want to put another burden on papa so I thought of working to save up some amount first. This dean's politics also irritates me tho

Shivaay seemed offended.

S- am I invisible to you Annika?

A- no way, I have all  eyes only on my prince!

She pulled both his cheeks saying that but he didn't approve though.

S- I will take care of your fee ,  your books, uniform everything.

Annika laughed out loud.

A- uniform? seriously!

S- vo sab muje pata nahi, mein karunga hi karunga bas.

A- aww! Teek hai we'll see to that later, but first I have to clear the entrance exams, for that I have to study and I need books to study. Will you get them for me?

S- at once.

A- kahan , it's been two days since I had sent you the list and you're still getting me those.

S- what?

He grabbed his mobile and checked her chat immediately. So many hearts and inbetween was a small note having list of books and authors to be followed by hearts again. Well that's how their chat screen looks actually, she'd send sweet messages , hearts, emojis, all day even if they're actually together while he uses it only to chat with words. That's how opposite they were.

S- isme kaise dikega , you should've pinned it.

A- tum nahi laayi, it's ok.

She spoke innocently and leaned back on the bed to sleep.

Annika woke up on not feeling a comfortable position for her leg, she traced it around but couldn't feel him next to her. She opened her eyes and went all shocked to see him still working. The clock showed almost 2 now.

A- shivaay even ghosts would've completed their duets and went to bed, what are you doing up awake still ?

She asked him in her dorwsy voice and came close to check. She blinked a few times until the words on the screen were clear. And she almost went dumbstruck on seeing it , he was ordering those books online.

S- wait wait, couldn't find the same author's edition for the last book alone. I'll check in another site.

Shivaay blinked suddenly when she shut the laptop on which his full focus lied. Before he could even say anything she came foward to sit on his lap and pushed him to the bed .

S- Annika, why did you! chod let me

A- it can wait.

S- but

A- but I can't.

She fisted to hold his collars within and smashed her lips on his to suck him hard. Shivaay loosened out and slowly gave in when she kept demanding more control, she gasped suddenly on feeling his cold palm lingering slowly into her shirt. He kept pushing her hair which fell on her face throughout, while she broke to breath but still had his skin under her lips though. She kissed all over his face desperately until he took charge and brought her under him to show and do what he desired .

Next day

A- Gauri how's aaru?

G-  he's fine bhabi, thoda coughs hai bas. He's there  , playing with shivaay baiya.

Annika looked at the lawn towards which Gauri pointed and smiled.

A- that's not shivaay.

Gauri remained bewildered for second.

G - how did you...? he's not even facing us.

A- magic!

She whispered before going out there.

A- looks like he has trained you as well .

Mahi who was entertaining aaryan with the bubble gun , turned on hearing her voice from behind.

M- you're talking to me?

A- yeah.

M- I still think he recognizes me as someone else only.

A- you're talking to me?

M- yes.

A- he loves shivaay.

M- everyone here does I know.

A- you're not angry with me?

M- as you said once, you are none to me, nit more than a stranger. I don't like you, I don't hate you either. You did speak for me I mean not for me, but it's complicated or whatever still, you also received nice backfiring for that . Sorry and thanks .

He carried aaryan and left saying this while Annika here had a light smile on her face already.

Annika has to leave the city?

I'm happy how everyone instantly reacted for the last chapter, that was the motive actually. The sole point of HDMQ is to show Annika dealing with situations and stuffs in depth because it was completely opposite in the show. Shivaay being the Great wall and all, I always wanted to see annika's family, her siblings, her friends so that's why HDMQ is like this. To see how she copes up with people around her.Many seem to feel that shivika don't get enough space but I personally don't like to romanticize everything by simply showing the usual stuff, so I keep adding to the story and see how they react. And I guess all thought annika would be the surrogate mother ,obviously  it's not a mega serial and your author isn't that cruel . I agree she is selfless but at this point we're at chapter 105 already so some character arc is mandatory right .  She has realized and understood the importance of prioritizing herself while charu who was shown selfish at first came around ok too. After all she loves Annika  no matter what.
