Surprised?!

First ,  I would like to thank everyone for sharing your honest reviews . I liked that actually , thank you guys!  So glad to know many are really engaged with this book and the characters .

Going through the comments , I guess many have come to a conclusion already . As a girl myself I wouldn't want the girl characters in my book to fall back bluntly. So we'll see what annika does here .

That's what I said of not having updated the entire chapter  . So here's the continuation.

At the same time when annika was with Adi , here ,shivaay was going more worried on not finding her anywhere at the hospital. He ran to check at the entrance but she was already gone. All the while he kept on dialling for her , but there was no answer .

He then rang for charu to know if she had come there because their house was nearby that locality . When charu denied saying annika wasn't there , he tension magnified .

S- don't know where she is . Om , I'll just go check and come . Be with Rudy , hmm?

Om- fine .

Since it has already started raining heavily , annika asked Adi to drop her at home .

By the time they reached the apartment , both got drenched fully . Holding the cloth with which she had covered her head , annika spoke .

A- how can you leave in this rain now ? Come with me ,

Ad- no way, your sister will kill me with her knife eyes if she finds me here again .

A- you're drenched stupid.

Pulling his hand , she insisted him to come .

Ad- no worries , my cousin's house is in the next block . I'll go there , bye .

A- acha ? Fine , bye .... Hey monkey ek minute , I have a good news ...chod , I'll tell you afterwards. Jao tum ,

Ad - arey aise kaise ? What good news ?

Wiping his wet face, he asked wanting an answer soon and she immediately spoke .

A- you have been shortlisted ! In charu's company !!

At once there was a wide grin on Adi's face which was visible even in that seemingly dark atmosphere.

Ad- wohhooo annika ! I feel like dancing in rain now , what did you even say ?! Charu's office ?!!

Spreading his arms in air , he exclaimed while annika smacked him soon .

A- pagal, go now . We'll celebrate afterwards.

Ad- haan haan , jaa raha hoon . Don't forget to wish sweet dreams to charu , I'm sure I'll be singing duets with her tonight in my dreams.

A- I'm going to throw stones at you if you don't leave now.

Warning him , she bent down to find anything, watching which he gulped and left soon .

Charu gave the towel and continued speaking ,

C- why didn't you pick up my call ? How many times to call you haan ?

A- I didn't hear any ring , maybe silent mode mei tha .

She answered while wiping her hair ,and that's when Meena came with some hot water and pestered her to drink it which she did .

M- shivaay had been calling charu since long , is there any problem between you both ?

A- first , shouts at me then

She muttered to herself .

M- kya ?

A- nothing maa . I'll go change first .

Grabbing the towel, she went to her room and instantly they heard the calling bell ring once .

Charu was baffled to find an half drenched shivaay there standing by the door .

M- shivaay beta , come.

S- aunty , annika ? Is she here ?

After removing the shoes he walked inside , rubbing his wet hair continuously.

C- yeah, she's inside.

S - I asked you call me if she's home right ?

Taking in long breaths ,he kept rubbing his face which was dripping wet and sat, finding  a seat on the couch .

C- I'm sorry , she just came now ... not even 5 minutes . I was going to call ,

S- chod .

M- charu , get him a towel first.

C- ji .

Within a few seconds, annika opened the door and came out from her room , blabbering something.

A- hey charu , why us my blue pant torn? and where's my yellow T shirt ? Tum hamesha,

Her words halted at once  when she noticed on whom the wet towel which she had thrown just a moment ago has landed.

' he's here? '

She looked shocked , while he silently took the towel which covered his head and started wiping his face and hair . His glance moved nowhere but just on her and she did the same too . Her boomed eyes slowly settled when she remembered everything and, she glared. Just kept frowning at him until,

M- annika , will you receive someone like this ? Guurna band kar ,

Hearing this annika blinked hard before facing him with a full smile where all her teeth were visible.

A- welcome shivaay .

Folding her hands she pretended  , watching which shivaay slowly looked away knowing she was certainly upset with him.

Meena who also guessed that annika was pretending,  passed a scowled look at her.

M- annika ? behave ,

Annika just rolled her eyes and went back into her room , when shivaay got up to follow her .

M- what happened to this girl today?

S- it's ok aunty , I'll speak to her.

Closing the door , he turned to find her standing straight ahead him but facing the other side .

S- where were you ? You know how many times I called you ?

A- you don't have to worry,  I had been safely dropped here by Adi .

She cut him in the middle and interrupted when he grow confused on hearing Adi's name . When and where did he meet her ?

S- Adi ...?

A- why so confused ? Even I have people to care for me .

She turned to face him and said this hearing which he remained silent .

The same fear  was peeping within him once again . Her words clearly mentioned that she leastly knows of him , his care and his concern for her. Again, she was blindly distancing herself  from him , he worried.

S - aise nahi , you could have atleast attended my calls and informed me . But no , you just had to ignore it right ?

As soon as he finished , she shook her head in disbelief.

A- first , do you have split personality ? I mean,  you were the one who asked me to leave and now you are acting as if I just deliberately ran off to keep you tensed . What should I even do ? And haan , ignoring is not my thing shivaay . Whatever it is I'll stand,  fight and  argue ! That's me , I didn't avoid you . My mobile was on silent mode,  so I didn't know .

Completing the statement,  she shrugged  folding her arms close to chest .

S- meine bola so you left ? Annika , I was really worried for Rudy that time and I hardly knew what I was speaking  .

He spoke insisting his state while she smiled plainly .

A- exactly shivaay , you were so worried and scared I know . I understand , but why me always ? I think from your side everytime which you leastly practise to reciprocate ! That's what which upsets me everytime shivaay , you can't just react to me like that always . Will you do the same if it was someone other than me , someone else  ? Om ... Jhanvi aunty or anyone else from your family ?

S- you even realize what you're asking annika  ? Why is it that you never find yourself in the group which you think is my family ? You aren't any outsider to me annika , I really care for you .

He couldn't take this blame from her , only he knew what was his state when he came to know that she had left the hospital like that.

A-  you force me to think like that shivaay. Maybe if next time I  meet with an accident , then I'll know if you really

S- bas .

She stopped when he interrupted with his loud voice. He looked shaken , disturbed . Blinking once at his staring eyes , she looked away .

S - the moment I realized that I had certainly shouted at you for nothing , I genuinely wanted to apologise,  from here ( pointing his heart ) . But I didn't know that you'd have judged me like this  already . Mein maantha hoon , I fail to express anything but how can you think that I feel nothing for you ? . I don't know to prove my feelings annika  , aisahi hoon mein but it doesn't mean that I never care about you . Did you think that I just call you as my wife for name sake? What shocks me is that you hardly know me , about my feelings . Anyways ..., it's my fault  , I shouldn't have shouted at you .I'm sorry.

It was only when he completed,  she remembered to blink . She clearly noticed his eyes which transparented some sort of hurt self .

Both kept looking at each other keenly until shivaay's phone rang .

S- ji mom .

P- shivaay , are you drenched ? Where are you?

S- I'm here mom at anni ...charu's home. Annika bhi yahan hai ,

He watched her once before changing the name while she  didn't react much .

P- teek hai , stay there only tonight.  Don't drive in this rain,

S- nahi mom , I'll come . Rudra ke saath ,

P-  shivaay, they will allow only one member to stay with the patient. Om is there with Rudra ,and we all have already reached OM . Don't deny and just stay there , it's raining more today .

S- fine .

P- aur haan , eat something beta . You haven't ate anything since afternoon . Nahi kaaogi tho strength kaise milega , I don't want my son to look a stick .

Thanks to pinky's speaker type tuning voice,  annika heard everything as she was just standing beside him.

S- mom ! Ok , I'll eat .

He sighed and hung up . Removing his blazer , he asked whether the restroom was by that side  pointing the corner and left there when she nodded.

She felt blunt as his words kept running in her mind continuously.  Has she hurt him ? She questioned herself.

Her trail of thoughts were cut when charu entered inside.

C- maa called you both for dinner .

Collecting a pillow from the bed , she walked past annika with a big yawn working on her mouth .

A- where you're going with the pillow now ?

C- then ? Should I sleep here between you both ? I'm fine with the sofa , the room is yours for today.  Enjoy .

Muttering this in a drowsy tone , she turned to leave when annika held her elbow suddenly.

A- hey charu charu , one doubt  !!

And charu just jolted and stood away .

C - what's your problem now ? I'm feeling very sleepy , chod na !

A- what if after your marriage,  one day we both end up here at the same day, with our partners  ? Then which couple will sleep in this room?

Charu looked at her confused face and remained horrified.

C - really annika ? From where only you get such doubts? I don't know that and all , leave me for now please.  Neendh aa rahi hai .

She dragged her voice and begged but annika troubled again.

A- bol na ? I really want to know .

C- meri maa ! I'll drag my husband and go to the terrace , you can happily have this room then too . Ab chod !

Wriggling out from her hold , charu ran at once .

Annika called Gauri to ask if she could check on Oreo once and feed him . But she was totally surprised ,  when Gauri said that shivaay had already called her to request the same.

A- ok gauri , goodnight.

' But it doesn't mean that I never care about you '

She kept the mobile on the side table , and fiddled her fingers as his words occupied her thoughts again.

He came inside the room  after having dinner. A perfect silence is what which happened as he directly went and lied on the other side while she leaned back too .

Both positioned themselves , without facing the other and pretended to fall asleep  . But no , can't sleep ,infact tonight both knew they were going to play an owl .

A different complex kept him awake . The thought that he has acted rude and tough with her to such extent that she has already concluded with a wrong perception of his character , left him disheartened. Because he knew it wasn't the truth . Things are getting really complicated for the first time that he has no idea of  how to figure it out .

And she kept blinking, as sleep was nowhere close to her eyes . Did she really fail to know him ? Understand him ? All she knew was , he would really apologise for it. And it happened, wasn't she right about him ? His anger is just an instant agent at the moment but otherwise he has never let her off to anyone. From the day they got married till now , he had never let anyone speak  ill of  her . Be it anyone , from pinky till Tej , shivaay had always been supportive.

Then why is she still sceptical ? Maybe , she wasn't able to judge anything from his wife-zoning behaviour .

As the sun rays peeped in through the window to hit her face , annika squeezed her eyes before frowning. It was only now she slept and the sun is here already? God!!!

She opened her eyes and shut it down soon again ,but ...wait .

' he's awake too , staring straight at me '

At once she blinked open her drowsy eyes and contributed to begin an eyelock .

As usual , her legs on him completely but she merely noticed it because her concentration was now booked to engage into his eyes .

God knows how both ended up near as last night they were miles apart on the bed .

Both had no words to exchange as still, they were yet to look into themselves for answers after the commotion yesterday.

He pulled back his hand when she blinked watching his fingers nearing her fringe which ran across her face .

Tucking it behind her ear , she slowly dragged her legs off his body and gulped .

She was about to get up when ,

S- annika , you still love me  ?

With some kind of curiosity emerging in his voice , he questioned looking straight into her orbs while she took some time to register the words which she just heard .

Pressing her lips together , she wet them and smiled a bit .

A- I don't have these stop , pause ,forward and backward buttons in my player . It just keeps playing ...always .

He understood nothing at first but then too, there arose a good feel within him as he didn't miss to notice the quite glint of smile in her eyes when she said that .

It's a yes , that he was sure of.

If I could give you one thing in life , I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes , only then would you realize how special you are to me 💘

Many of you wanted annika to ignore ,punish him . I understand guys , it's normal . But if we watch clearly,  annika is totally different here. That doesn't mean , she's dumping her self dignity , no. She had always stood for herself and for the right in whichever situation it was.  Be it when shivaay forced her for the wedding or when pinky insulted her family  ,anything . She did what she thought was right.

Even in this thing she wasn't angry because she entirely knows shivaay with this . It was just his anger of haste , so as a calm patient girl she acted to her side .
Maybe her profession might have brought her up like that . A confrontation can make shivaay realise right ? That's what she believes in .

So we can't judge her like , she isn't caring of her self respect and all .

This is my view of her character,  but yeah, opinions change. So plss do let me know what you think . It's ok if our thoughts doesn't match , just be frank.

I wantedly brought this plot to give them an  impulse that both are actually being ignorant of something in their relationship. Let's see how they grow after this .
