I Am my own person

3rd Person POV

they watched them leave the stage and ronnie turned her head to look at nate and jason

"and now we wait for the moment of betrayal" she whispered and nate nodded as they waited

"this is going to bad isn't it?" he said and she nodded

"i know it is" she said and they watched as axel ran onto the stage

and that's how we do things here at camp star! before we go any further, i'd like to make a quick announcement" axel started

"and here we go" ronnie whispered and nate nodded softly

"we're having staffing problems, who knew we'd be so popular? so, i'd just like to put it out there, if there are any camp rock counselors or rock who'd like to make the switch, i'd be more than willing to double the salary" axel said and ronnie scoffed

"i called it" she stated and nate sighed

"no" jason said as they watched staff start to get up and live

"and if there are any camp rock campers who'd like to join us, we'll, i'm sure we can find you a bunk. oh, did i mention our cabins are air conditioned?" axel said and ronnie watched as tess got up and walked away

"TESS" she called after her but she lost her on the crowd

"ron, come with me" mitchie said and she turned to nate

"i'll see you later" she said and he blushed as she grabbed mitchies hand and they started to walk around

"okay i love our camp but this is pretty cool" ronnie exclaimed as they walked into the studio and they looked around

"you are going to keep your promise right ronnie?" mitchie asked and ronnie snapped her head in her direction

"of course i am mitchie, camps are supposed to be fun not killer" she spoke as they held each other's hand

"ronnie why wouldn't you consider coming here?" mitchie asked

"i'm a ploy in my parents game, all i ever do is work and write. i need to take a break, i came to camp for that reason" she said and they walked into another studio

"rockers, boats now" mitchie said and she watched them walk out

"and because of nate" mitchie exclaimed

"wow? what... what do you mean?" ronnie asked and mitchie bumped her shoulder

" i mean that i've seen the way you look at him and the way he looks at you, you like each other" she stated

"okay i barely know him mitchie, i need to give it time" ronnie exclaimed

"well obviously but you do admit it" she giggled and ronnie blushed

" i slightly admit it, look at this place though" ronnie said as she ran a hand over the stands

"yeah, wow. now, this is a recording studio" she said and ronnie nodded

"yeah a little bit" ronnie stated and then they heard someone behind them

"hey" he said and they turned to look at him

"um , hi" they said together

"can we help you with something?" ronnie questioned

"do i look like i need help?" he retorted

"do we know you?" mitchie asked 

"that's funny. luke. luke williams? i was just on stage, like, two minutes ago. i'm giving the fire" he said and ronnie nodded

"wow very impressive" ronnie sarcastically stated

"i know right? it's kind of my thing, so, you thinking about joining us over here?" he asked and ronnie shook her head

"uh no i'm perfectly happy where i am" mitchie said

"well, you are shane grays girlfriend but you ... ronnie lane,daughter of nicole and shawn lake, you aren't coming here?" he asked and she shook her head

"nope i'm perfectly happy where i am, rather not be a experiment. i already have a career" she exclaimed and he nodded

"wait how do you even know about her and shane?" ronnie questioned for mitchie

"you have to know the players if you want to be in the game, right?" he said

"not for a camp" ronnie stated

"it's a tough business" he tried

"this is summer camp but please talk to me about tough business" ronnie said as he stepped forward and he stepped back

"fine but it's summer camp to you but to anybody at camp star, it's step one to a long and illustrious career, i don't have time for second rate" luke said and ronnie chuckled

"you know who i am, pretty sure i'm not second rate" ronnie defended

"yeah we're not second rate" mitchie stated

"you don't have to get al defensive, it's none of my business. you don't have to try to convince me" luke exclaimed

"we're not trying to do anything" mitchie spoke

"good. you're at the perfect place for you" luke said and ronnie nodded

"we are but just so we're clear, luke williams , i really don't care what you think because not one camp rocker would even consider coming here" ronnie said and tess walked in

"guess what? my mom said yes , i get to make the switch" tess spoke and she made eye contact with ronnie

"that's great" luke said

"tess? what the hell?" ronnie said and she walked over as she grabbed tess's arm and she pulled her out of the room

"how could you?" ronnie asked

"i'm not even going to pretend to feel bad, camp rock is for babies and you should be there, you'll get nowhere" tess said and ronnie scoffed

"you hide in the shadow of your own mother, i have gone somewhere tess. i am my own person, my parents control
my career not me and fun fact only one of us has a sold out album right now but yeah sure i'll get nowhere" ronnie said and she watched tess's eyes grow

"ronnie just come over here and you can grow more" she tried and ronnie scoffed

"yeah right tess, good luck over here being used a lab rat ,i'll be having fun for my summer" she said and she walked back into the room and she looked at mitchie and then luke

"you both are so egotistical that it'll be hard finding a spotlight for both of you, mitchie come on" she said and she held out her hand. mitchie grabbed it and they walked out of the room together

"i heard everything" mitchie spoke and she nodded

"that's fine mitch" she stated

"you know you still are a ray of sunshine" mitchie exclaimed and she smiled at her softly

"i'll continue to try to be, let's go" she said and she went back to the boats with her

mitchie was easy, mitchie was comfortable and nice and caring. she was comfortable with mitchie

maybe mitchie was the friend she needed all along
