JIMIN

I hear the sound of my name.

"Yeah?" I call back, my gaze lifting from the grass. My eyes squint a bit to focus on V, and confusion fills my face at the expression he's making.

Why does he look so scared?

And then I hear it. A chill runs up my back when animal sound comes from the side of my deaf ear. My head snaps to the right, and I go completely still when I look into the furious eyes of a winter boar.

It's so close.

"Hyung!" Then arms wrap around my waist, pulling me backwards. The boar runs through the place I'd been standing right before, tossing its head as it spins on its heel.

"Use your Blessing!" Jungkook shouts, his dark doe eyes wide as he holds me. "Hyung! Your Blessing— ice it or something!"

It's coming for us now, and Jungkook shakes me wildly. I feel helpless, knowing there was nothing inside of me— not anymore.

"I— can't."

"What?"

Jungkook's eyes go wide when he realizes I couldn't save the both of us. And now it's too late for him to teleport out of the way— too late for anything.

I'm so useless.

Then a knife slams into the boar right between its eyes, followed by a second that drives deep into its heart. It crashes to the ground just before reaching us, and I flinch as its blood flecks my face.

"What the hell...." V gasps, his hand still outstretched from throwing the knife. His expression is angry—confused, and furious.

Because I'm supposed to have killed it off easily— with the Blessing I didn't have anymore.

"Hyung!" He grips my shoulders, shaking me. There's still the terrified look in his eyes, and tears sting mine. "Why didn't you— you and Jungkook could've gotten killed! Did you know how—"

"I'm sorry."

My chest feels tight, knowing that's the only thing I can say. I fix my eyes on the ground, knowing that if I look up to see all the confused and fearful looks they're giving me I might start crying against my own will.

I don't want to cry. That's too pathetic.

"Are you okay?" Jungkook says, then suddenly gasps when Jin hyung shoves him back. He grips my chin in his gloved fingers to lift my face up, and I quickly turn my head away to the side.

"Is my baby okay!" He shouts, and I groan, burying my flushed face in my hands.

"I'm fine...."

"Thank goodness." He says, flicking his head back at the dead boar. "I poisoned it just to make sure. It's dead now— nice throw by the way, Taehyung."

Then hands grips my shoulders.

"It's okay, hyung." My cheeks blush in embarrassment when Jungkook hugs me tightly to his chest. "But you're fine, right? I get why you froze up like that— it was terrifying."

Even though he's trying to comfort me, I don't lift my hands from my face.

Because I can feel V's stare on me, confused— worried.

And uncertain.

"Damn."

And when she says that, I know for sure.

We're lost.

"V..." I mumble instinctively, a soft sigh escaping my lips. After this, he was never going to let me go outside again, was he? And he would be worrying so much right now.

If only I had a way to let him know I was fine— just having completely no clue where I was.

"Stay close to me." Morning warns when I get a bit too far. "I won't lose you too."

I nod quickly, coming closer to her. What if history repeated itself again— I could still remember when I'd almost froze to death during the night I spent in the forest lost.

At least I had her this time.

"Let's just start walking in a direction." I suggest uneasily, looking up at the late afternoon skies. "Unnie?"

"Yeah. It's better than nothing." Then she hits a thick, snowy branch hard with the sole of her shoe, breaking it into two. When I look at her in confusion, she nods.

"I'm marking where we are."

We start walking. Even if Morning seems calm, I still feel so anxious— knowing it was only a matter of time. And this was Winter.

At night, we might not survive.

It's already cold now, my shoes crunching in the thick white snow. I wrap my hands together, trying to get as much warmth as I could.

"It's so amazing, isn't it?" I start talking, doing anything to distract myself from worrying and thinking. "Jungkook's eyes— I forgot to ask him what happened. I thought it was incurable."

"It's all because of him— Jimin." Morning suddenly says, and I look to her in surprise. "He gave himself for Jungkook's eyes."

"His Blessing. Half of his hearing, and his sight."

I nearly crash into a tree.

"What?!"

"White, miracles like that don't just happen by themselves." She says to my shocked expression. "Jimin took Jungkook to Sage. That's the only place where miracles can happen."

"But with a price."

"His Blessing? And— and..." I can't even talk right, being so taken aback. Half of his hearing and his sight? Was that why V had acted like that? And when he was saying weird things like Maybe he is fine?

"H-How did you know?"

"I was there before." She tilts her head at me, silver eyes steady. "Did you know my mother was blinded once, by a wolf? My father took her to the Sage to deal for her eyes. And he told him the exact same thing he probably told Jimin."

She taps my right ear, my left eyelid.

"That to fix a blindness, he would have to give up his Blessing, half of his hearing, and half of his sight."

Jimin....

I didn't really know how to handle this. Did Jungkook know about this? Did any of the others— that Jimin had made such a huge sacrifice to trade for Jungkook's eyes?

Because I was afraid what would happen the day they did.

The day Jungkook did, because I knew he cared for Jimin the most out of all of us.

He was going to be devastated.

"Princess!"

It's twilight when we find each other. Morning narrows her eyes at Jin at the nickname, but I can tell that she missed him. She'd actually let him hug her without throwing him off.

"You're so cold, demoiselle." V says worriedly, and I press my lips to his cheek before sinking into his warmth. "Why do you always end up scaring me over and over again?"

"I'm sorry." I say quietly, but then a smile widens my lips. "I outran a boar!"

He winces. "So you did see it. I hoped you wouldn't have."

Raising my brows slightly, I clasp his large hands and press the back of it against my cheek. I frown at the temperature— he'd been worrying about me when he should've worrying about himself.

"You're cold too, you know."

My eyes flicker to Jimin, concerned as he warmly smiles back at me. It was such a problem— he put others so much before him, and he always kept things that bothered and hurt him to himself.

"It's okay now that you're here." V's deep, low voice whispers into the curve of my ear, and I shiver in pleasure. My arms tighten around his shoulders.

"Thanks for finding me."
