TRANSYLVANIA, 1456

"River..." I groaned when the shakes and shrieks of the TARDIS finally came to a conclusion, signaling we had landed. "What's a Transylvania, and why do you need to be here?" I shakily stood, gripping the console as I went.

River herself was already standing, muttering curses to the TARDIS. "Damn you girl, we don't need the Doctor to not get hurt." River told the TARDIS in a slightly scolding tone, only get an aggressive whirring noise in return.

Shaking herself she turned to me with a smile, holding up a small leather bag. "This bag contains a small sum of pure silver, I'm simply the delivery girl delivering this to a man named Vlad the III. I needed the TARDIS to safely get me to the exact location, I don't trust my vortex manipulator with something this important, plus the TARDIS is far more interesting." River explained while leading me down the hall passing by both mine and the Doctor's bedroom doors.

"Hmm." I hummed. "So, I get to accompany you on this trip, then?" River smiled in response nodding.

"Yes, which is quite the relief, I don't trust vampires." She stated, my eyes widening at her words.

"Vampires!" I yelped as she opened the door to a room I had never been in.

Inside was a sight which I hadn't expected, racks upon racks full of clothes from different time periods and different societies. Shelves filled with any type of shoe a person could think of lined the walls, and accessories of sorts were stuck next to the shelves. A few different vanities sat on walls, makeup sitting innocently on the vanities. Finally, a huge mirror stood ideally at the very end of the huge room taking up the entire wall.

"Welcome to the costume room!" River shouted with a smile doing a small twirl. "Any clothing you could possibly need is in here, I figured considering the mission we're on it'd be best to at least try and blend in. We're not trying to catch anyone's attention, the last thing we need is the Doctor somehow finding out." River mumbled the last part as she took off in search of clothing.

"Hold on, vampires? In Transylvania?" I questioned following after her, watching as she tossed multiple items to the ground.

River wrinkled her nose when she pulled out a brown trench coat, throwing it to the ground. "Oh yes, sorry, I forget you're not up to date with Earth's history." River turned to me. "Let me start from the beginning." She added, turning back to look over the clothing.

"In the year 1442, the Turkish sultan enslaved one-thousand Transylvanian boys to fill the ranks of his army. These child slaves were beaten without mercy, trained to kill without conscience, to crave the blood of all who defied the Turks. From among these boys, one grew into a warrior so fierce that entire armies would retreat in terror at the mere mention of his name." River spoke in a brooding sort of tone.

"His name, Vlad the Impaler, son of the Dragon. Sickened by his own monstrous deeds, Vlad came to bury his past with the dead and returned to Transylvania to rule in peace. His subjects called him Prince, but the world would come to know him as Dracula. The reason behind this being that after Vlad had a wife and son, the sultan once again called for one-thousand boys to serve his army, Vlad's son included. Vlad didn't want this, and so he refused, his refusal started a war with the Turkish empire. Knowing his kingdom stood no chance, Vlad ran to the only place he knew he could get the strength to beat the Turks. The Darkness."

"To Vlad, his kingdom didn't need a hero, they needed a monster. And so, a monster Vlad became, for the shadows gave him the strength of the darkness, the strength to beat the Turkish empire single-handed. Vlad was cursed with the fate of immortality, to live forever, for Vlad was a vampire, and Vlad was no longer Vlad the Impaler, he became Dracula." River finished off the story tossing a houppelande gown my direction.

Catching it, I immediately took note of how long the sleeves were. River herself pulled out a similar dress, the only difference being her color was blue.

"Hurry and put these on." She was already taking off her clothing. "I need to get this silver to Vlad as quick as possible." I followed in her lead, taking off my clothes and putting on the dress.

The two of us were dressed quickly and leaving the TARDIS which made another noise of protest. "We'll be back soon." I assured her closing the door behind me.

I smiled taking in the pure evergreen forest surrounding us. It was dark out, but it was apparent it was the early hours of the morning. The sun would be rising soon enough, something that was good for River and me, God knows we don't want to be trapped in the dark forest during the medieval times for too long.

"Do you know where we're heading?" I asked River, trotting after her as she took a left away from the TARDIS.

"Yes, his kingdom is running from the Turkish empire, they've set up camp about a mile or two from this location." River explained, the two of us hopping across a small stream. "Also," She stopped turning to me. "Be ready to use that helpful fire ability of your's if you don't mind." She winked, me smiling nodding along.

"Of course." I rolled my eyes, the two of us continuing our trek through the forest.

"You know, I'm not supposed to give you spoilers, but I'm just going to tell you when the Doctor finds out, the adventures you all go on from there get quite interesting." River said, me laughing in response.

"I would call them interesting now."

"Oh yes, but trust me when I say that in the future, it's a completely different sort of interesting." River and I turned, my eyes widening when I caught sight of a deer.

The deer saw us as well, freezing before it darted off into the woodland. "By the way..." I trailed rolling my eyes to River. "How does that conversation go, I mean how do I tell him?" River glanced at me slightly nervous, shaking her head.

"Well, you don't exactly tell him yourself, he finds out through other means..." She bit her lip, my mouth popping open.

"Oh gosh," I ran my hands down my face. "That's so much worse, he's probably going to be so angry." I groaned, River sympathetically patting my back.

"I won't lie, it's not an easy time in your life, but I promise it gets better. Besides," She winked. "The two of you do get married after all." My eyebrows raised at that.

"Are you even supposed to be telling me any of this?"

"Probably not, but I figured you're a trustworthy person as to not try and drastically change the future." She paused giving me a stern look. "Don't try and drastically change the future, what happens just is." She waggled a finger in my face making me roll my eyes.

"Yeah, yeah," I waved her off. "I won't try shifting the fates or whatever, but can you at least tell me how long I have before he figures it out?"

"HA! You're funny!" River laughed, a scowl crossing over my face. "Nope, can't even give you the slightest hint." I scoffed in a joking manner, looking up seeing the sunrise. "There's something you don't see every day." I smiled, River only looking to the sun worriedly.

"Oh, that's not good. We're running behind, Vlad can't be in the sun!" River gripped my wrist beginning to jog. "C'mon, we need to hurry." She told me, the two of us going faster to get to our target destination.

With the pace we were going we were able to get to the campsite within fifteen minutes, frowning seeing as it was abandoned.

"We need to check it, there might be someone left." I told her, the two of us rummaging through the entire camp, seeing nothing left.

"Crap!" River exclaimed, running her hands through her big bouncy hair. "I was trying to get here before they left, dammit, now we need to get to the castle they're at before the Turkish empire get's there." River cursed, kicking over a stone.

Sighing, I tugged at her wrist. "In that case, we have no time to waste. Which way?" I asked her, River leading us out of the campsite.

"It's about an eight hour walk, but we can make it in five if we jog part of the way." We once again began jogging out of the campsite.

The trip was spent with us talking, getting to know each other, well, me getting to know River. She somehow knew everything about me. She was an interesting person who I genuinely liked, she also told me she would be popping up a lot in the nearish future.

"Just out of curiosity," I began, River turning to me with a twinkle in her eye. "Have you met the Guardians of the Galaxy?" I honestly felt like Gamora and her would hit it off well.

With a smirk, River looked forward. "Spoilers." Is all she said with a small laugh at the end. "Oh, look, here we are." The two of us came upon an opening in the trees, spotting a castle in the near distance.

"Perfect timing too." I looked up admiring the fact that it was only midday. "Why is it so important that Vlad gets the silver? Doesn't silver like hurt vampires anyway?" I asked, River only shrugging.

"To be honest, I don't know. I'm dropping this off as a favor for a friend, I think it has great importance sometime in Vlad's future." River said as we came to the entrance to the castle.

I was surprised that no one was guarding the opening, River looking at me skittishly obviously having the same thoughts. We had to be really careful now, the Doctor was in Venice over two-hundred years in the future and the TARDIS was almost a ten-hour walk away, the only thing we had going was River's blaster that she had packed and if it really came down to it my fire.

However, it was like what River said earlier. We weren't trying to get put in the history books, we just wanted to slip under the radar unnoticed. As River and I got deeper into the castle, which we soon realized was mainly outdoors, we heard screams of terror.

Both our eyes widened in panic as we ran to where the noise was coming from, the shouts getting more clear as we got closer.

"It's true, he's a monster!"

"Kill the monster!"

"Satan lives in his heart!"

I could feel the flames from here, something was burning, something big. By the time we stumbled upon the chaos, it was too late.

A crowd formed around a small building which was on fire, screams of pain coming from inside. Being held back was a gorgeous blonde woman and a little boy, both of whom were yelling at the mob to stop.

"Please! He is your Prince! He is owed the chance to explain, please!" She begged, the fact that she was his wife and the little boy his son becoming all the more apparent.

It then hit me that the kingdom people must have just found out about him being a vampire, and now they burned him alive in the building! My eyes widened, and immediately I brought my hands up snapping my fingers.

Through my command, the flames died out even with the villagers desperately trying to add more flames. Getting annoyed by them, I put out all their torches leaving no fire, Vlad didn't deserve to burn.

River handed me a thankful look knowing what I was doing. However, what happened next played in slow motion.

All of the sudden, loud animalistic growls filled the space that had been previously occupied by screams of pain. The growls were loud and sounded more monster than animal. The crowd went silent watching the burnt building with fear filled eyes as a built man walked out, anger written across his features.

The man was dressed in the traditional battle armor for the medieval times, it almost looked like armor from Asgard or even Muspelheim. River and I stood silently by the entrance, ready to make a break for it if it came down to it. It was obvious that now was definitely not a good time to gain the prince's attention.

He was silent, holding only a look of pure wrath on his face as he gazed upon his subjects.

"This is your loyalty?" He finally broke the silence, voice a deadly calm. "Your gratitude?"

Vlad was well-built with a defined muscular body, no doubt from all his battles. His hair was on the longer side, stopping just at his shoulders painted a charcoal black with eyes just as dark. He was an attractive man, to say the least, more so than most.

"You are all fools!" Vlad exclaimed, myself gulping unable to deny his intimidating form. He may have been attractive, but he was also intimidating. "Do you think you are alive because you can fight?" He asked, turned and ripping a piece of burnt wood from the once burning building, no doubt using his superior strength. "You are alive because of me! Because of what I did to save you!" He shouted, the pupils of his eyes large and red.

The red of his pupils was the same color red that my eyes would flash; however, when mine did it, it was the entire iris. Fearlessly, the woman who I presumed to be his wife broke free of the restraints strutting forward to her husband.

She was just as beautiful as he was attractive. Blonde hair cascaded down to her waist and electric blue eyes similar to my own adorned her face. She was slim and on the shorter side, looking tiny in comparison to her husband.

Placing a calming hand on Vlad's chest she looked him in his eye with nothing less of bravery. "This is not who you are." She stated simply, yet her voice held all the courage in the world.

Gazing at the couple who were perfect for each other, I felt a slight twinge of jealousy at their happiness. The two of them were clearly very in love with each other. The Doctor and I were apparently meant to get married, hopefully, that was how we were in the future.

Suddenly they broke gazes with each other, looking to their left. Following their gaze, I was met with the sight of their son watching the scene through huge eyes. Seeing both his wife and his son, Vlad collected himself shoving the large wooden stake to the ground.

"Return to your stations." He growled at the villagers who watched their prince in fear. "Believe me! There is far more to fear!" He stormed off leaving us all in a deadly silence.

Despite it being daylight out, it was extremely cloudy granting him the freedom to roam about during the day.

"You think now is a good time?" I questioned River, who swallowed.

"It's not like we have all the time in the world, we need to do it now." We looked to the sky which was slowly but surely becoming nightfall. "We don't want to be here when the Turkish empire hits, it's a war we don't want part of." I followed River through the corridors of the castle, trying to find where the prince had wondered off to.

"Maybe the Doctor should have come." I muttered, River scoffing.

"We don't need him, you and I, we're perfectly capable of doing this." River said to me firmly, the two of us freezing when we came upon Vlad's wife who I had yet to learn the name of, hugging his son, Vlad nowhere to be seen.

River and I glanced at each other, me standing up straighter and River preparing to straight up lie to this woman to find out where her husband was.

"Your Highness," River called, the both of us bowing to the woman who stopped stroking her son's hair, gazing at us with slight suspicion. "May we speak with you?"

The woman took a step in from of her son protectively, tilting her head. "I have never seen either of you in our kingdom, and I know everyone here. Who are you?" She was sharp no doubt about it.

"You're quite right," I stood up from the bow, flashing a kind smile to the woman. I wasn't trying to get her husband on us. "We're not from this kingdom, nor anywhere nearby. We are simply delivery women here to deliver this," I pointed to the small leather pouch which River held up. "To your husband, so if you could be so helpful as to point us in his direction then we will be out of your way." I smiled, both the woman and her son only looking all the more dubious.

"Right..." She said. "And what are your names?"

"I am River Song, and this is my apprentice Persephone." She pointed at me with a smile.

It was odd hearing someone speak my full name after this long. Not in a bad way, just the sort of nice familiarity. I knew why River referred to me as Persephone instead of Effie to this woman, Persephone was an older name, something that wasn't as peculiar as Effie during this time.

I couldn't help but think what it would sound for my full name to roll off the Doctor's tongue, or Amy's, or even Rory's. I had no problem with Effie by any means, in fact, Gamora and Rocket often referred to me as such, but I was more fond of my full name.

"Why do I need to be the apprentice?" I muttered under my breath, River kicking me telling me to be quiet.

Peeking out from his mother's side, the little boy narrowed his eyes at us. "Persephone? As in Greek Persephone, the Goddess of the underworld, or Norwegian Persephone, Goddess of Fire?" I was surprised by the little boy's knowledge, the mother turning to him wide-eyed.

"What have I told you about other religions? Christianity is the only one that's real." The mother said in a slightly scolding tone with a pink blush. "I'm sorry about him."

"It's okay," I waved it off with a smile, looking to the little boy dazzlingly. "I was named after the Norwegian Goddess of Fire, Persephone." I told the little boy whose eyes lit up with excitement, the previous suspicion wiped away from his face.

"That's so amazing! Of course, you two can see my father, I'm sure he'll be just as excited as me!" The mother tried to stop the boy, but he was already telling us where to go. "He's at the very top balcony looking for signs of the Turkish army! Oh, I'm Ingeras and this is my mother Mirena!" He exclaimed, Mirena looking to her son with wide eyes.

"Ingeras!" She scolded, River Song and I wasting no time in walking past the two with smiles, River laughing to herself.

"Thank you!" We fled up the stairs before Mirena could interrogate us further.

"Stop! You are not permitted to go!" I could hear her yell at us, but we were long gone.

"Geez, I hate dresses." I told River, holding up the far too long dress on me.

Smirking my way, River held up her own shimming a bit. "Speak for yourself, I think we look rather hot." I laughed at her words, the both of us stopping just outside the entrance to the balcony.

We went quiet seeing the handsome Vlad tilting his head down, leaning against the railing. "What is it you are required to give me?" He suddenly asked, not turning to face us.

River and I glanced at each other confused on how he could possibly know why we were here.

"Oh, please." He finally turned around, looking to us with a dark brow raised. "I heard the two of you speaking to my family from a mile away, I always listen make sure they're safe. Not to mention you both hold rather peculiar scents." He sniffed the air, turning to River. "You smell like rain, and you..." He looked at me with a small smirk. "Smell of burning ember, yes, rather odd scents if I do say so myself." He mused, taking a small step forward.

With a poker face, River took a step forward as well holding out her the small bag. "I am not permitted to say why you need this, all you must know is to keep this with you for as long as physically possible." Vlad tilted his head, taking the bag from her and peeking inside.

With a scowl, he looked up glaring menacingly at us. "Are you trying to kill me!" He waved the bag of silver around, me casually putting my arms behind my back.

"If we were trying to kill you, we would've handed you the silver by itself, not in a leather bag." I pointed out, Vlad turning his attention to me.

"And why should I believe that this isn't a trick? What is stopping me from killing the both of you now to assure both my own families safety." River and I both met each other's gazes with slight panic, for once, we had no excuse.

I knew at that moment we were both thinking the same thing. The Doctor should have come, he would know what to say, what to do. After all, he always does. However, he wasn't here, and he didn't have his TARDIS. It was only River and I to ourselves.

With a deep breath, I coolly looked at Vlad taking a brave step forward. "You heard your son speak to me, right?" He nodded at my words, narrowing his eyes unsure of where I was going. "In which case you heard me tell him I was named after the Norwegian Goddess of Fire." I licked my lips, Vlad once again nodding, River snapping her head to me, eyes wide with anxiety. "What if I were to tell you that I wasn't just named after the Goddess of Fire, what if I were to tell you that I was the Goddess of Fire." Vlad snorted at my words, pursing his lips, River taking a sharp intake of breath.

"I would call you mad and probably kill you." He rhetorically said, my lips pulling into a smirk.

"Vlad, if vampires are real, then why is a Goddess any different?" He looked at a loss for words from what I said, me taking that as a clear sign to continue. "You and I both know that the Turkish empire is going to be here any minute, River and I both wanted to avoid them, but it's obvious that at this rate we won't be able too." I looked to River who nodded along with me, the two of turning back to Vlad the III. "There are over ten-thousand men headed straight for this castle and maybe you can kill them all, but can you kill them before they kill your men, your family? No. I am telling you right now, I am Persephone Surturson, Goddess of Fire." To prove my point I held my hand out, allowing for a small flame to take place there.

River Song smirked and Vlad jumped toward me in shock, taking my hand in his looking at it from all angles. When he realized this was no trick, he turned his gaze up to mine slowly letting go of my hand. "Here's my deal, don't kill us and we'll help you fight." I deadpanned, a smirk eating away at Vlad's face.

However, his smirk dropped at the sound of loud footsteps and chants coming closer. All three of us snapped our heads to the outside of the balcony seeing the Turkish empire making there way to decimate the Transylvanian people.

"Follow me." Vlad ordered, spinning on his toe leaving the balcony.

We followed him all the way to the highest point of the castle, it was a large platform with no railing meaning if you fell off the side you pretty much fall to your death. Well, I guess I wouldn't fall to my death since I could fly, but for anyone else, yeah, they're dead.

"Are these bats?" It was River Song's voice which questioned, the two of us looking around the entire thing in shock.

Vlad held his hands up ordering an enormous swarm of bats to circle the castle in a spiral vortex. With a dramatic motion of his arm, Vlad sent the herd of bats flying to the Turkish army which was closing in on us.

Before anyone could comprehend, the bats to hit the army causing for the soldiers to go flying, people screaming. River Song and I watched in amazement when Vlad suddenly punched the ground with his fist, his strength causing the stone to break. The bats out on the battlefield followed in his order, swarming upward before harshly sweeping down crushing many soldiers.

"River," Vlad called, River turning to face him. "Will you guard the castle?" He questioned, River smirking in response pulling her blaster out from her dress.

"Hell yeah." She smirked, clicking the safety off, Vlad only looking at it in confusion before shaking his head.

"Thank you." He sincerely told her, turning to me. "Goddess of Fire, if you would please accompany me to the battlefield." He asked before he jumped off the ledge turning into a large swarm of bats himself, flying to the battlefield.

Looking over the edge, I turned to River with a sigh. "This is why I hate dresses," I breathed, throwing a smile her way. "See you in a few." With that I dived off the ledge, enjoying the way the air felt as I fell.

Closing my eyes, I listened to the air whistle past sensing I was getting closer to the ground. In an instant, my eyes burst open and suddenly I was no longer falling but soaring through the air with unmeasurable speeds.

It wasn't often that I flew without being supernova anymore, usually I was completely encased in flames during flight, it felt nice to just fly. Like I had expected the long dress whipped around, and at some parts even revealing my knickers.

I could care less though, I was having a blast! The sonic boom which exploded from me courtesy of the speed I was flying at didn't even register in my mind. All I was focused on was battle, a true battle, not the small fights the Guardians and I often found ourselves in.

From below me, I could see Vlad landing discarding his bat form and fighting his way through the soldiers like they were bugs. Stopping in the air and allowing myself to levitate for just a minute I smirked at the ground excited to join the battle myself.

I may have been against killing the innocent and all, but at the end of the day, I was still raised by a psychopath sadist. I wouldn't lie when I said that I enjoyed a good battle. Besides, none of these soldiers were really innocent anyway.

With that thought in mind, I glided to the ground bending my knees and landing with a loud bang on my feet unaffected by the force of my fall. However, the force of my landing caused for a small quake to happen within the ground drawing attention to myself as soldiers fell to the dirt.

"Oh, I really wish I was wearing armor," I said to myself seeing the soldiers shocked looks as they saw my form just standing. "Or my sword, that would be great." I thought about it. "No, my whip! That's what I could really use as of now! Why did I leave it on Muspelheim." I cursed myself, the soldiers no longer in shock, many charging at me at once.

It was only Vlad and me on the battlefield with no weapons, and yet it was apparent we were winning. With a yell, my years worth of training to be a deadly weapon finally paid off.

In motions faster than any mortal man could process, I spun around grabbing the nearest soldier throwing him at a group of more soldiers with a force strong enough to kill them all. Yeah, this was something I probably never wanted to mention to the Doctor, ever.

Without a thought, alike to being on autopilot, I took a sword from a random soldier slicing his throat with it. With the new weapon, I was easily able to kill many, and as disturbing as it was I forced the sword through three soldiers at once.

Men screamed as they went flying to their deaths, Vlad and I going through annihilating all one-hundred thousand men. Leaping through the air, soldiers watched in amazement and terror as I destroyed everyone in quick fluid motions, speeds unheard of by any moral standards.

"PERSEPHONE!" I heard a shout from my right, turning my head to look from where the shout was coming from. Vlad stood crouching down with his hands held in front of him, motioning for me to place my foot there. "Jump." That was all I needed because before anyone could comprehend us, I was running toward Vlad, taking out any soldiers in my way.

As soon as my foot was in his hands, he used his vampiric strength in order to toss me in the air. Time seemed to slow as I ripped through the air, bringing my fist up. From below I could see Vlad panicking while looking at the castle, turning into a herd of bats while flying toward it.

Paying no mind to him, a battle cry escaped me as I fell to the ground landing in what Peter referred to as my 'superhero landing'. When my fist collided with the ground, my entire body enflamed becoming the supernova, any person standing within a thirty-foot radius enveloping in flames, a large explosion happening around me.

Standing up, I saw that I had incinerated any soldier that was near me, the rest already dead from Vlad and I. Seeing as I had a few moments before any more came, I looked over to the ground hearing Vlad cry out. My eyes widened upon seeing an almost dead Mirena being held by Vlad, it was obvious she was pushed off the castle.

Much to my shock, she whispered something to Vlad and less than a second later he had sunk his fangs into her just as the morning sun rose to the sky. Hearing the sound of dirt crunching, I whipped around, coming face to face with the one and only River Song.

Looking up, I was confused when I saw storm clouds rolling in at unnatural speeds, my eyes widening when I realized it was Vlad who was doing this. Stopping the flames on my body, I looked to River Song not even caring that my dress had burned away and I was standing in front of her completely naked.

"We need to leave now, he has to delivery, but the the Turkish sultan got his son. Vlad's about to turn his entire kingdom and it gets even more bloody from the history books. Trust me when I say it's time to go." River Song urgently stated me nodding in compliance.

"Okay, but the TARDIS is almost a ten hours walk, how the hell do we get there without running into anyone, not to mention I'm walking around naked." I asked, River Song only smirking in reply holding up wrist which had a vortex manipulator.

"I may not trust my manipulator to get me everywhere I want to go all the time, but I would say it's our best bet in getting to the TARDIS. Grab my arm." I quickly grabbed her arm, River typing something on the vortex manipulator.

In a swift movement, we suddenly swirled through time, me feeling as if my insides had just been crushed. Once we landed, I stumbled away from River letting the effects wash away. Looking up, I smiled seeing the TARDIS standing there in all her glory.

"I took us to the TARDIS three minutes ago, let's go." River pushed me inside the TARDIS, me never happier to be back than now.

"Oh, TARDIS." I stroked her console. "I've never been happier to be back." The TARDIS hummed in reply, River working the controls.

"You go get dressed and I'll pilot us out of here." I nodded, scampering back to the costume room where my previous clothes had been held.

Once the clothes were back on, me making it a point to place the blaster in my pocket, I walked back out to meet River never happier to be out of a dress. Skipping through the hallways and out into the console room, I was surprised to see her back in the outfit she was wearing prior to Vlad.

Fixing up her hair, she turned to me with a wink. "Okay, I, unfortunately, got the timing a bit off and instead of getting us back seven minutes after we left, it's been about..." She looked down to her wrist-watch. "Seven hours."

A strangled gasp escaped me as I looked to her wide-eyed. "Seven hours! I've missed the date, oh he's going to be pissed, how has he not noticed the TARDIS is missing." River smirked at that.

"This conversation actually came up in my past, your future. Apparently, he thought you didn't want to go on a date with him and he was busy saving the world for some fish things." River giggled, at my guilty expression.

"Don't worry," She hugged me, before pulling away. "It'll all work itself out, trust me." She winked, pressing a few buttons on her manipulator. "But, I better get going, don't want the Doctor to see me, see you soon." She told me, leaving no room for agrument as she was gone within the next second.

Groaning, I ran my fingers through my hair. "Dammit," I said, jumping when I heard voices coming from outside the TARDIS doors.

A second later, Amy came in with a smile that fell when she saw me. "Where the hell have you been?" She hissed, crossing her arms over her chest, frowning when she saw the exhausted expression plastered on my face, but it quickly hardened again. "Do you have any idea how standing him up like that affected him?"

I opened my mouth but was cut off by Amy. "No, you don't because you weren't there to see his heartbroken expression when he realized you weren't following." Amy looked at me disappointed, a guilty feeling eating away at me.

"You need to let me explain." I begged, Amy only holding up a hand.

"Don't explain to me, explain to him." Was all she said before the TARDIS doors opened once more and Rory came sauntering in the Doctor behind him.

The Doctor froze seeing me, my heart breaking at the dejected look on his face. He looked down unable to meet my gaze as he went to the TARDIS console pressing a few buttons before beginning to walk down the hall.

"Doctor, wait! It's not what you think!" I shouted at him, but he only sighed sadly ignoring me while disappearing down the hall, the door to his room slamming shut.

Amy pursed her lips watching him leave, delivering a slight glare my way. "Listen, Effie, I know your upbringing was hard and all, but that's no excuse to treat a good man like him that way." I tried explaining that it was all a misunderstanding, but Amy would have none of it bringing an awkward looking Rory with her out of the console room leaving me alone.

Tears filled my eyes when I realized how I must have made the Doctor feel. "Oh, TARDIS." I sighed, stroking the console. "How do I make this up to him?"
