Normal POV

Late one evening in the city of Era a royal carriage was passing through. The sun was just setting and after a long day of seeing the Crocus flower gardens the queen and princess are on their way home.

"Mommy! Can we play when we get home?" A little blonde asked her mother as she swung her legs around in her seat.

"Sure sweetie," the queen smiled. "If you're still awake that is."

The small blonde smiled brightly at her mother. And closed her eyes as her mom started to sing her a little song.

"Watch out!," one of the horse men yelled before you could hear something being hit.

The little princess jumped up from her spot and opened the carriage door.

"Lucy get back here!" Her mom yelled.

The people on the street once gawking at the scene before them, stared in awe at the familiar princess. Many bowed before her even though the child had paid no attention to them and was instead seeing what had happened in the front of the carriage. As soon as the queen stepped out of the carriage many people in the crowd gasped.

"Your majesty"
"Queen Layla"
"It's the queen" everyone mummered.

Lucy stared in horror at the horses standing over a young boy. The boy laid there in the mud, completely unconscious. The horsemen were about to move him and toss him to the side but little Lucy refused.

"Momma please let's take him home!" She begged.

The child couldn't stand the idea of another child being left the dirt. Lucy had pulled the boy from beneath the horses and he now laid on her beautiful pink dress, now coated in mud. Layla looked at her daughters pleading eyes.

"Please mommy" she started to tear up.

"Oh alright. Just till he wakes up and we know he's okay, alright?" She told the child who nodded her head quickly.

The queen motioned for the horsemen to pick up the small boy. The man followed his majesty's orders and placed the boy in the back seat on the cabin. Lucy quickly rushed to his side to look at him. He was bleeding and had a few bruises. Lucy gasped and tore some fabric off her dress causing her mother gasp.

"Lucy!" She yelled but quieted seeing her daughter work so hard to help the boy.

Layla knelt beside her daughter and patted her head.

"You're going to make a great queen one day lucy"

Lucy simply nodded and continued to tend to the boys needs. She worked for ten more minutes before there was nothing less she could do. Lucy calmly sat on the bench and laid the boy's head in her lap. She laced her little fingers through his soft pink locks.

"Mommy is his hair really pink?" Lucy asked confused to see a boy with pink hair.

"I believe so sweetie" the queen giggled.

As the two made their way back to the castle Lucy slowly started to fall asleep. It was late for a girl her age. Layla smiled at her child then looked at the boy. She felt bad for him because her carriage was what hurt him. Layla patted the boys hair and wondered how worried his family must be.

"What's your name?" Lucy asked as she starred down at the boy who laid in her lap.

He looked up at her and tilted his head.

"Wow you're pretty!" He exclaimed causing the little princess to blush.

"T-that's besides the point! Name I order you to tell me!" Lucy said in a demanding tone.

The pink haired boy sat up and smiled.

"My names natsu, natsu uhh.." he ponder.

"Do you not remember your last name?" Lucy asked like he was dumb.

"I.. I can't remember anything. Everything's a blur.. I know I had a mom and dad. And an older brother. But there was a fire and I don't know." He said still deep in thought.

Lucy looked up at her mother. Layla knew what that look was. It was the same look she gave her when she wanted to take her dog Plue home. She knew her husband wouldn't agree, but she couldn't just leave an orphan in the streets.

"Well Natsu do you have a place to stay?" The queen asked the little boy.

Natsu shook his head no.

"No ma'am, I was trying to get to the river before the other hobos got there."

Lucy and Layla gasped.

"Well I'll have to see with my husband but.." Layla started looking down at her daughter. "What if you came and stayed with Lucy and our family at the castle?"

"No freaking way you live in a castle that's so cool!" Natsu cheered.

"Yes natsu I'm a princess! Mommy and daddy Are the queen and king." Lucy told him.

"You don't look like a princess to me.." natsu told Lucy as he looked at her torn clothes with a eh expression.

"That's because I got dirty saving you dummy!" Lucy yelled smacking his arm.

"Lucy!" Her mother gasped.

"Okay natsu. There will have to be some rules if you do stay with us. You can't stay at the castle for nothing. My husband will assign you a position to work as you get older." Layla tried to tell him.

"Oh can I be Lucys knight?" He smiled.

Lucy blushed and giggled. Layla smiled softly.

"Well Lucy could use a personal guard to protect her with their life. But I don't know if you're up to that task."

"I'll do it! I'll protect lucy no matter what. It's my debt to her since she saved my life." His words were sincere.

"Well then lets talk about meeting the king"

The three became to discuss who Jude was and how natsu should act around him.

"You must be respectful"
"And never interrupt him"
"The king is always right"
"Show him how much you are willing to do the task at hand"
"Don't back talk"
"And remember this is Lucy's father and you're a boy. That little factor isn't going to slide by."

Natsu just nodded his head to everything they said.

"So how are the meals there?" Natsu asked as serious as one could be.

The two blondes just rolled their eyes at the strange boy with pink hair
