...October 14th.
I was named Andrea Zagato. That was my maiden name. My parents moved from Italy to California when I was in seventh grade.
The drama started in high school for me.

High school. The death knell for all teens...

My best friend was a girl named Andie. We had survived through everything together.

Kind of like you and Ellie.

Anyway, Andie moved to Bolivia for a few months while her parents worked. This was during freshman year. I was alone and desperate to make friends.

When I went to school on the first day, I became utterly lost and confused. Stressed out I went up the stairs and to one of the balconies. I sat there afraid. I didn't want to make a fool of myself...

"Wait, so you ditched class!?" Mallory yelled.

"Yup," I responded, "Pretty much."

"Nice! I have a bad*ss mom!"

I shook my head laughing and continued.

I simply waited. For what I don't know.
A boy entered later, "Er- what are you doing here?"

"Sitting? Thought it was kinda obvious," I said.

"This is my spot."

"Woah, I didn't know I had to reserve it," I said my sarcastic self taking over.

"Well you do... only for fishies like you. Now move," he said smirking.

Anger boiled I side me. I depised being called that. I needed to wipe that smirk off his face.

"No," I said curtly

"What?"

"I said no. You really need to get a hearing aid."

"You have to move. I'm an upperclassmen. "

"So...? You don't need me to boost your ego. I'm not giving you this spot."

He grinned and sat down next to me. "A girl with guts. I like you. So, why are you skipping class?"

"Cuz I wanted to," I lied.

He sat right through me.

"You couldn't find your class, could you?" he chucked.

"No," I said my cheeks turning red.

"C'mon I'll help you find your room..."

"Andrea. And you are?"

"Daunte."
