Daunte and I became pretty close after that. He was my closest friend.
My only friend. Of course I still texted Andie, but we were slowly drifting apart. It was kinda sad...

Andrea: Hey u there?

Andie: sorry I'm busy

She simply couldn't make any time for me. I was no longer important enough...

After the three months were up she texted me.

Andie: hey! I'm coming back!

I wasn't sure how to respond.

Andrea: yaayyyy! so excited 2 see u!

Not really. We probably wouldn't even talk anymore... but I had to try.

It was the first day with Andie back.

Didn't go too well.

"Hey Daunte!" I called.

"Who's that?" Andie asked.

"A friend," I answered.
She didn't seem to happy with the response. It's as if she didn't want me to make any friends. As if I had to wait for her when she was gone. I couldn't stop my life for her.

"Hey Andrea," Daunte walked up to us, "Who's this?" He gestured towards Andie.

She glared at him in disgust.
What was her problem? He didn't do anything to her.

"This is Andie," I said politely, "Andie this is Daunte."

"Nice to meet you," Andie said sarcastically.

"Right back at ya," Daunte growled.

Perfect. Mr friends wanted to kill each other. Just perfect.

During lunch, all Andrea did was complain.

"Ugh, I hate this school. It's soooo bad. The teachers are awful. In Bolivia, everyone was sooo nice. The teachers were great! They gave me high grades even though I didn't do any work work. And-"

I played with my food pretending to listen to Andie's rant.

"All of my friends were amazing!"

Oh, so she can make friends, but I can't?

"You don't have good friends."

Like you?

"I don't like Daunte. I don't trust him."

"What do you have against him?" I said rudely.

She flinched. She looked so shocked because I didn't speak until now.

"Well- er," she stammered, "He's not a good person."

I raised my eyebrows, "Really,  that's good reasoning. You have no right to speak. You don't even know him."

"Well-"

"Hey guys, can I sit here?" Daunte asked.

"Of course you can," I said shooting a sickly sweet smile at Andie.
