 1 hour later as the fighters had recovered during their break the KOF continued onward. Y/n saw Ryo's team was next up to fight. Walking towards them the boy smirked and spoke.

Y/n: So you guys are up to bat this time eh? Don't go to hard on your opponents alright ,especially  you Takuma.

Takuma:*Chuckles* I appreciate your concern but I can't make any promises. I'm old but one thing i'm not is weak heh.

Robert: Haha that's true but even so I wouldn't go putting too much effort so early. Don't need you throwing out your hip old man. 

Takuma: WHY YOU BRAT SAY THAT AGAIN ROBERT I DARE YOU!

Robert; No thanks  I'm  good.

Ryo: Father  you know Robert joking come on now.

Takuma: Yeah I know now then Y/n.  You better have Yuri watch closely got it? I'm sure if anyone she will listen to it's you.

Y/n; If you want her to watch I doubt it's just for enjoyment.

Takuma: I want her to see that this tournament is more than for fun. No fighter has come for the sake of fun. Many fighters have duties and honor at stake;even yourself. For us we are fighting for the pride of the Sakazaki name.

Y/n looked down for a second then remembered his mothers warm smile.

Y/n:*smiles* I know what family can  mean to someone. The pride for ones own bloodline is sacred to many martial artists. To have your blood mocked  by others can hurt more than any weapon. It's a disrespect that anyone with pride will fight for.

Takuma: Then you understand why I am so strict with Yuri. She's young and too naive to take many things seriously. Our Kyokugenryu style has been passed down for many years now. It's use is fading and soon none will see it again. I can't let that happen to it and Yuri is the last hope for the style's future. Ryo may succeed me in it's teaching;but Yuri carries more weight.

Y/n: She's got amazing potential even being able to copy others techniques. But even I can see some fighters will not be so kind to her. With how easy she's willing to let a skill go out of frustration; she'll end up getting hurt more.

Takuma;Exactly now Y/n I ask  you as more than old fighter, but a man of family; please help Yuri see this. Help me get her to see why I do this.

Y/n looked down before he closed his eyes.

Y/n:*nods* Yeah you can count on me Takuma.

Takuma and the others heard the announcer speak then Ryo smiled.

Ryo: We're up now it looks like.

Takuma: Let's get this over with.

THIS BUNCH OF TIGERS AND DRAGONS ARE 1 FAMILY YOU DON'T WANNA GET BIT BY!  WITH A PUNCH HE MIGHT JUST SEND YOU FLYING, HE'S THE INVINCIBLE DRAGON;RYO SAKAZAKI!  NEXT UP HE MAY HAVE LOOKS BUT DON'T UNDERESTIMATE HIS KICKS! THE RAGING TIGER HIMSELF ROBERT GARCIA! AND FINALLY WITH THE GRACE OF AGE THIS MAN'S BLOWS ARE STRONGER THAN EVER! Takuma:*Laughs* Alright you two let's show these people the power of our style!

Announcer:THIS NEXT TEAM COMES TO US STRAIGHT FROM THE USA FOLKS! EACH OF THESE FIGHTERS HAS SOMETHING TO PROVE! HE'S FAST  ON HIS FEET AND  DUNK YOU INTO THE GROUND IF YOUR NOT CAREFUL! THE LUCKY SHOT  BASKETBALL PLAYER LUCKY GLAUDER! THIS QUARTERBACK IS TAKING HIS BRUTAL TACKLES TO THE RING FOLKS! THE SUPPOSED NUMBER 1 SUPER STAR BRIAN BATTLER! FINALLY THIS EX BOXER CAME TO SHOW THE WORLD HIS CAREER IS FAR FROM OVER! WITH A MEAN  JAB GIVE IT UP FOR HEAVY D OF THE AMERICAN SPORTS TEAM!

Brian: I hope you losers are ready to get crushed. 

Robert:*smirks* I hope you will please go easy on us. 

Lucky: Sorry old fool but we ain't planning to lose her.

Takuma: OLD FOOL?! YOU'VE GOT SOME NERVE EVEN US OLDER FIGHTERS AREN'T SO WEAK BOY!

Y/n and Yuri sat and watched the battle begin. Takuma walked into the ring while Lucky did the same with  a grin.

Y/n:*sighs* I don't even need to watch to know who wins this.

Yuri: What do you mean?

Announcer; BEGIN!

Lucky  charged at Takuma with his basket ball then jumped up. When the athlete went to  spike the ball down ;Takuma knocked it aside. Before Lucky was able to react he was suddenly punched out of the ring by Takuma.

Takuma: DON'T UNDERESTIMATE US OLD TIMERS!

Yuri:T-That....wasn't even a fight.

Announcer: I-INCREDIBLE WAS OVER IN 1 SINGLE HIT!

Robert grinned as he jumped into the ring next then stretched. 

Robert: Alright I call next fight.

Heavy D: Brian go see if Lucky is ok. I'll fight next alright?

Brain: Yeah fine!

 As Heavy D got into the ring he stared at Robert.

Heavy D: I'm not even gonna lie to you. I already know our chances of winning are next to nothing.

Robert: That so huh, well then why come?

Heavy D: Even we hazbins have  dreams. This tournament is full of the strongest around the world. My team and I  wanted to show the world anyone can come back on top. it doesn't matter if your superhuman or just a normal guy; anyone can stand tall if they try.

Robert: I see now...that's a pretty noble goal you have. Even so I can't really go easy on you.

Announcer;ARE BOTH FIGHTERS READY?!

Heavy D: I wasn't expecting you to. I've made it passed the preliminaries so even if we lose I've got no shame. Show me everything you've got.

Robert: Just try not to hold anything against me for it alright?

Announcer:BEGIN!

Yuri: So the sports team knows they have no chance but still tries. 

Y/n: That's right Yuri, the truth is not all fighters are created equal. Some just have a power gap too high to overcome. Even so they won't give up;even if their dreams are going to be shattered.

Yuri: But then why even fight at all?!

Y/n: Because  everyone has something worth fighting for. For them it's to prove they aren't nobodies worth forgetting. Athena's team fought for not only the sake of their fans but  to see how far they came. King is fighting for her brother and Terry's team if fighting for family. Your family are fighting for the sake their families pride.

Yuri:Then if that's the case Y/n;what is it your fighting for?

Y/n: I guess you could say I'm fighting for a similar cause. To prove one of my parents hope in he wasn't misplaced.

Yuri:Y/n...?

Y/n:  I know it doesn't truly make sense to you right now Yuri. But you'll see what it all means one day.

Y/n stood up before he gave Yuri a warm smile.

Y/n: I'll should probably get ready since my fight is next.  

Yuri: Wait Y/n...you know your not alone right?

Y/n began to rub Yuri's head causing her to blush.

Y/n: Yeah...I know that all too well. I've got plenty of you guys to help me out.  But for now my goal is something I can't drag others into. 

While Y/n walked off Yuri stared at Y/n with concern.

Yuri:(Mind) What isn't Y/n telling me? He's always been honest but when it comes to his family;he's always pushed it aside. What is it that's so painful for him he won't tell me or the others?

While Y/n walked off he saw King talking on the phone with someone.

???: I saw your fight on the TV it was amazing!

King:*chuckles* You really think so huh? I didn't think the Nurses would've let you watch.

Y/n:(Mind) It's a kid..who  exactly are they?

???:After you said you were fighting there I begged them to let me watch you. They did it all for me to see you fight big sis!

King:Well that's really touching Jan, but listen if your told to rest just remember to do so.

Jan: I know King the nursed said your fighting for the money to fix me up.  I know you can kick all their butts! Your the strongest and greatest big sister in the world!

Y/n:(Mind) So he's her little brother.

King: *Smiles* Well I wouldn't go saying that but I'll do my best Jan. Now how about you rest up for now ok?

Jan: Ok sister I love you King!

King; I love you too Jan.

As King hung up Y/n walked over towards her with a smile.

Y/n:So that's Jan huh..seems like a cool kid. Innocent and pure I can see why you want to help him out.

King: Y/n? So you heard everything huh?

Y/n: Yeah and he got one thing right; your a amazing sister King.

King: I just don't want to let him down. The money prize can cover everything to fix Jan up. Even so I also don't want to let Yuri and Mai down either.

Y/n; With so many strong fighters it can make many nervous. But King your not alone in this don't forget that. Even if you lose I won't let your sacrifice be in vain.

King: What do you mean by that?

Y/n; I'm saying even if you lose I will fight to win this shit;no matter what. When I do I'll give you all the money to help your brother.

King stared at Y/n in shock before she spoke to him.

King; Why would you do all that  for me?

Y/n: Well it's simple....I just don't like seeing innocent people like him suffer; or even you.

Y/n walked away causing King to smile at him.

King:You really are a good person Y/n..

With Team Art of Fighting having won their match with ease Y/n stood waiting. Y/n looked at his hand as he summoned a small blue flame.

Y/n;(mind) I'm getting closer mom...I hope your watching from above. 

After Y/n made the flame vanish he heard the announcer speak.

Announcer:ALRIGHT FOLKS OUR NEXT FIGHTER STANDS ALONE! WINNING EVERY OTHER TOURNAMENT KNOWN TO MAN THIS BOY IS BUILT UPON LEGACY!  WITH A BURNING FLAME MATCHED ONLY BY HIS FLAMING HEART HE ENTERS!  DON'T MESS WITH THE FLAME FIST BRAWLER FOLKS! GIVE IT UP FOR Y/N "RYUKEN" KUSANAGI!!

Y/n jumped into the ring then  raised his fist into the air.

Y/n;(mind) Wish me luck...everyone.

Announcer: HIS OPPONENTS  AS A FAN FAVORITE AMONG THE TEAMS IN THIS YEARS KOF! HIS ROARING SPIRIT RAGES ON LIKE A LION! USING MUAY THAI THIS  CHAMP IS SO JOKE JOE HIGASHI!  NEXT UP IS THE FIGHTER OF KOPPOUKEN  AND THE YOUNGER BROTHER OF TERRY:ANDY BOGARD! WATCH OUT FOLKS BECAUSE THE WOLF HAS COME TO BITE THE FLAME FIST BRAWLER! HIS SKILLS ARE KNOWN AS LEGEND IN SOUTH TOWN! Andy: Guess we  no other way huh Y/n?

Y/n: I had a feeling i'd have to take you guys on. I'm just glad it's now so it's out of the way.

Terry: We all aren't going to give each other a easy win. We all know no ones will go easy here right Y/n?

Y/n:*smirks* Oh course especially since I'm alone against 3 consecutive fights.

Y/n watched Joe  stay as the others left the ring. When the two got into their stance the announcer started the match.

Joe: Alright Y/n hehe let's go!

Joe rushed at Y/n with a right jab causing Y/n to dodge. Joe went to kick Y/n pushing him back a bit. Joe  continued his rush as he unleashed a barrage of punches;causing Y/n to block. Y/n saw Joe going to knee him in the stomach; then then blocked with his own. Y/n  grabbed Joe's fist before he slammed his own into Joe's chest. While Joe was sent flying back the crowd cheered and he smirked.

Joe:T-That was one hell of a blow!

Yuri: COME ON Y/N YOU'VE GOT THIS!

King: We're counting on you!

Athena: I BELIEVE IN YOU Y/N!

Kensou: A-Athena?!

Chin: *grins* Hehe I see now maybe Athena has a little crush forming.

Kensou; M-Master Chin you shouldn't joke like that!

Y/n rushed at Joe with a kick causing the man to block. Y/n  caught Joe's next punch only to be hit in the ribs. Joe smirked before he uppercutted Y/n creating a tornado to sent him airborne 

Joe:HURRICANE  UPPER!!

Y/n:(mind) Joe is better than I first thought.

When Y/n landed on the ground he saw Joe sent another tornado at him. Y/n smirked before he unleashed his Kusanagi flames to he dissipate it.

Y/n: Alright then Joe you've got my blood to start boiling. Come at me with everything you've got!

Y/n ran at Joe before he unleashed a barrage of blows.

Benimaru: Hey Kyo looks like he stared using your family  techniques.

Kyo: Yeah Y/n's  getting into the fight it looks like.

Y/n  and Joe's fists clashed until Y/n kicked him in the jaw.  

Terry: GIVE HIM HELL JOE!

Joe  took notice of Y/n's fist before he blocked with his leg. With a roar Joe nailed Y/n with a left hook;stunning the boy. Joe unleashed a barrage of blows onto the boy before Y/n regained his senses. Surrounding his leg in blue flames Y/n kick Joe freezing his chest. Everyone looked on in shock before Joe was knocked out.

Yuri:(mind) WHAT WAS THAT?! I'VE NEVER SEEN Y/N USE THOSE KIND OF FLAMES BEFORE!

Announcer: AND WITH THAT Y/N COOLY WINS HIS FIRST ROUND AGAINST TEAM FATAL FURY!

Y/n stood  tall before Terry came in and grabbed Joe.

Y/n;*smiles* Yo Terry when Joe wakes up tell him that match was pretty fun for me ok?

Terry:Sure thing man.

With a nod Terry left the ring leaving Y/n to face against Andy.

Announcer: LET THE NEXT ROUND Y/N VS ANDY BEGIN!

Andy: Give me everything you've got Y/n!

Y/n: Back at you Andy!

While  the two charged at each other things began elsewhere. Heidern was seen sneaking through the lower decks of the ship. Taking down the guards in his way the Captain wondered through the a lab. 

Heidern: I'll find out what your hiding... Rugal.

While Heidern sneaked around he found a computer then began to hack it.

Heidern;(mind)What secrets are you plotting. you monster.

Heidern stared in shock as he found out Rugal's plan.

Heidern: T-THIS IS-

As a screen turned on Rugal's face appeared on it.

Rugal:*smirks* So you've figured it out , you truly are clever Heidern.

Heidern: Rugal you bastard....how low will a monster like you go?!

Rugal: *chuckles* A monster is that what you think of me? I'd prefer the term devil, you knowing my plan amounts to nothing. 

Heidern: Taking the life of the strongest one and adding to your own strength!

Rugal: That is but a small portion in a more  grand goal. I shall transcend all life and become the god of this world.

Heidern: Damn you...I will find you and end you before you can get the chance!

Rugal:*Smirks* I welcome you to try Heidern. If you so chose I'll be willing to let you go back to your team. If you haven't forgotten the one who took your eye was me. The next time I face you it will be your life instead.

As the monitor turned off Heidern clenched his fist.

Heidern;(Mind) Damn him...I can't let him do this.  It seems I will need more aid than I thought.

As Heidern went back  Y/n  was seen with the upper hand against Andy. Andy saw Y/n running at him before the man blasted him back.

Y/n:T-That's a nice one Andy  but I'm ending this crap now!

Y/n covered his foot in flames before he slammed it into Andy's head. Knocking out Andy Y/n earned the next win. After Andy was dragged off by Joe Terry jumped in.

Y/n: Looks like it's just you and me now;Terry.

Terry: Heh seems so Y/n I hope you know I won't be as easy as them.

Announcer: WITH THIS FINAL ROUND WHO WILL COME OUT ON TOP FOLKS?! Y/N OR TERRY?! LET THE MATCH BEGIN!!

Terry:COME ON COME ON!
