"Uhh... Are you sure it's okay to go explore the city alone?" Charlie asked, looking unsure and worried.

"I need to at least look for some hints or books I could read if I'm ever going to figure out how to return back home. I'm also quick, so nobody has ever noticed me." Carrying her backpack, Damari gave her an assurance and covered her head with a hood.

"One of us can give you an escort." Vaggie suggested.

"Yeah, Hell is not a safe place." Angel agreed.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine. I have a gun with me. I'll be back before you know it." Damari said, looking determined.

"...Alright. But in case something were to happen to you, just call me." Charlie said, holding up her phone. "Let's at least exchange each other's numbers."

Damari nods and pulls out her phone, exchanging numbers with Angel, Vaggie, and Charlie. After that, she gives them a little wave before heading out. Angle, Charlie, and Vaggie watch her go, worried. They exchange quick glances before making their way back into the hotel. They had no idea that a specific drone was tracking and observing Damari. Alastor happens to catch their chat at the same moment and moves into Damari's shadow to watch her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damari recoils at the sight of Pentagram City as soon as she arrives; there is a lot of fire, dead bodies, wrecked automobiles, strange-looking demons, demons stabbing or eating one another, etc. Damari moves erratically, occasionally hiding around every corner, and keeps her hood up as she passes by each monster. When she passes through, she sees those cannibal demons devouring a dead body and reads the sign that reads "Cannibal Town". She gulped and hurried passed them, avoiding the blood that was splattering from the dead body. Damari sincerely hopes that something in this terrible environment can provide her with some answers. She unintentionally runs into a snarky monster.
"Woah! Sorry!" Damari yelped.
"Hey! Watch where you're going, bitch! Take your shitty ass and get the fuck off my territory!!" Demon said, pushing her.
Damari collapses onto the road, startled to see a car approaching from behind. She hurriedly stands up and darts across the road, narrowly avoiding being hit by swerving cars. Some were honking horns at her as Damari made it to the pavement. Damari encounters the groups of people who are killing one another. She swerves to avoid them and ducks into an alley. Bending down to her chest, she appears to be having a panic attack as she sits there.
Hovering over her, the same drone that watched her head into an alleyway earlier. The person in charge of the drone as it unveils Vox, grinning. Valentino is standing next to him, sipping from his drink and grinning broadly as he watches.
"It appears the kitty is lost." Valentino purred.
"Well, she appears that she's trying to find something. What's she up to?" Vox said, zooming in on her.
Damari climbs to her feet and leaves the alleyway once she has stabilized. After giving the area a quick glance, she crosses the street. After taking a quick look at each store, she doesn't see anything that has to do with libraries or magical things. However, she noticed something. She comes to a halt in front of "Pentagram Creative Sewing". As she makes her way inside, Damari is giddy with anticipation, having been taken aback to find that they have sewing supplies. Her eyes grew wide as she saw the immense sewing machines, overall sewing pins, and silky spiderwebs that she could see. She bounces about and gives this location a quick, happy glance before falling in love.
"Well, well, I never knew someone would love my shop." a feminine voice chuckled.
Damari stopped jumping and turned around. There standing over her is a tall female demon. She dons a long dark green and black dress. Her hands are long and sharp, and she looks more slender and taller with black lengthier hair. what shocked her the most is that she has shiny black buttons sewn over where her eyes is with black lipsticks as she gives Damari a grin, showing her sharp teeth.
"Welcome to my shop. I am Beldam. Is there anything I can help you with?" Beldam greeted, stroking Damari's cheek.
Shivering a bit, Damari quickly calms down.
"Yes. Do you have anything you would recommend for me to design best dresses and accessories and others??" she asked.
Beldam puts a thoughtful look and then smiles creepily.
"I think I know just the thing you would need."
She leads her somewhere as she grabs what appears to be a button box from the shelves, but when she opens it, it reveals a pair of scissors, sewing needles, buttons, pins, and those shiny rolled threads.
"Wow..." Damari voiced.
Beldam smiles.
"And if you're curious about those threads, those are spider silk webs. They're pretty rare." Beldam explained.
"Nice. But what about the other threads?" Damari asked.
"Oh, I got that covered."
Beldam pulls out another box and opens it to reveal colorful rolled threads that appears expensive and precious. Damari's eyes sparkles at the sight.
"I'll take 'em!"
Beldam tells Damari how much she needs to pay as she makes her way to the cashier register, and Damari never hesitates. Beldam shocks her by giving her something unexpected while holding a bag full of sewing boxes. A button with a sewing needle pendant is given to her.
"This is just to show my gratitude at how grateful I am to see someone finally liking my shop and buying it."
Not knowing what to say, Damari smiles and puts the pendant on around her neck.
"Thank you. Hope to see you again."
She gave her a wave and walked away as Beldam waved back. Damari saw a television store just as she was about to start looking for the answers after realizing her true purpose for being here. She can see those throngs of people gazing at the glass-covered wall of TVs while it plays an ad as she approaches. As Damari enters, she notices that every box brand item is filled with televisions and drones.
Meanwhile, Vox and Valentino grinned to see her enter the store.
"It looks like she had entered the lion's den." Valentino said.
Vox stands up and fixes his bowtie.
"Well, it's time that I introduce myself."
Valentino stops smiling and turns to him.
"Excuse me, but since when did you decide to go meet that kitty?"
"10 seconds ago when she entered my shop." Vox replied without looking at him.
"And why can't I go meet her too?" Valentino glared.
"Because you'll attract too much attention and we both know you just want to fuck her instead of talking to her." Vox explained.
Valentino scoffed and inhaled the cigarette before smoking out red.
"Fine..."
"Don't worry. She'll warm up to us soon, but for now let's look deep into that human girl, shall we?"
With that, he disappears into the screen through electrokinesis as Valentino watches.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Vox appears in front of Damari through the screen just as she is ready to leave because she couldn't find anything intriguing to buy.

"Well, hello there!"

"Gah!!" Damari screamed, backing up into the tv screen.

"Whoa, easy there! I'm not going to hurt you. Forgive me of my sudden appearance, I'm Vox." Vox greeted, holding out his clawed hand.

Shaken up by his sudden appearance, Damari takes his hand and they both shake it.

"D-Damari, sir. Damari Valor."

"Damari, huh? Cute name." Vox grinned, not letting go of her hand.

"Thanks... Uh... Is there anything you need?" Damari asked, trying to get him to release her hand.

"You seem pretty new to this Hell, and I thought I'd welcome you here." he said, finally releasing her hand.

Damari flinches and glances away.

"Oh, uh... what gave it away?"

"Your frightened expression, of course. Don't worry, I won't bite. How about I take you somewhere to eat? My treat."

She tried to get away from him after becoming afraid of him and seeing his same smile when he blocked her path.

"N-No thanks. I'm good. I just finished shopping and I'm gonna go and—"

A loud rumbling in her gut makes her blush with shame. Vox chuckled and slings his arm across her shoulders.

"Like I said. My treat."

To her dismay, Vox then yanks her from the store and makes her hurry for the limousine. How wealthy is this TV demon really? He opens the door for her first, then lets her in last. Stepping out of the vehicle, they ride an elevator to a fancy restaurant where all the fancy demons are dining. Damari was terrified of the demons surrounding her and worried that they would see her, which is why she held the hood tight to her face.

"Don't worry. We're going to somewhere more private." Vox assured her, taking her hand and dragging her to a private room.

She was sitting close to a large window with a view of the city and the crimson sky, and before she realized it, she was sitting opposite him. Vox receives a worried smile from Damari as she surveys the area.

"I-It's nice of you of taking me out for lunch... or dinner. I often eat alone."

Vox raises his eyebrow. Damari quickly adds to not let him know her weakness.

"Oh, uh, because of course, my work. But I have good friends to eat with."

"Right. How did you die to get yourself in Hell?" he asked, knowing that she's a human.

"Well... I... committed a suicide. Yeah, I had a bad life and couldn't take it with the whole... work and stuff so I died by... stabbing myself...?" Damari lied through her teeth.

"Hm... I see. Tell me, do you have a favorite show or bird for that matter?" Vox said, getting to the point of getting to know her.

"Well, I'm a swan kind of gal."

"That makes sense. They are very beautiful birds."

"Actually, it's their elegance and refinement I'm more attracted to. I'm not so impressed by fancy feathers." Damari said, smiling.

"I know exactly what you mean. My favorite bird is the spotted owl. I've always been mesmerized by those big..."

Vox trails off, staring at Damari's light blue eyes.

"...round, intelligent eyes."

Suddenly, a monster demon waiter comes up to their table with big pieces of meat on a stick and a knife.

"Ha ha! Picanha!!" he laughed.

He places it down and holds out a knife, making Damari scream as he slices pieces of meat onto her plate before leaving. Then another waiter comes up to her, making her yelp.

"Chicken hearts? Flambada!"

He throws a match into the hearts, making them burst into flames and causing Damari's hood to be on fire. She quickly puts it out as the waiter pours down the hearts into her plate.

"Oooh! Chicken hearts! Hehe... Oh, God!"

She looks down and gasps to see a fire.

"Ahh! Oh!"

Damari starts blowing on it and tries to put it out. So she grabs a fork and takes the heart and blows the fire off. Vox chuckles in amusement and takes a bite of his meat.

"Never expect that, haven't you?" he said.

"No..." she mumbled, taking a bite of the heart.

When she tastes the food, her eyes enlarge and she closes them, enjoying the meal. Damari gets to work eating her food.

"This is really good..."

"Hungry, aren't you?" Vox grinned.

"Yeah, pretty much."

"How about a drink? What you like?"

"Apple Cider Cocktail?"

A waiter comes in with a tray of two glass drinks.

"Oh! Thank you." Damari said, taking her apple cider cocktail.

In the same way that Damari is sipping her drink, Vox takes his own and does the same.

"So, why exactly are you here?" he asked, placing a drink down.

"Well... I was hoping you could tell me if you know any magics and stuff that could... I don't know... send people back to Earth?" Damari said, keeping the cup close to her lips.

Vox puts a thoughtful look for a moment and then shakes his head.

"Sorry, but I know any magic and shit. I'm a more technical guy."

This made Damari frown in disappointment, but Vox continued his sentence.

"But I know like contacts and associates who do dabbling magic. Here's my card if you need any assistance." Vox said, handing her his business card.

Damari takes it and looks down at it before nodding and placing it in her backpack.

"Okay."

After eating and drinking everything she had, she uses a napkin to wipe her lips and stands up.

"Thank you for the meal. It's nice to meet you, so I'll see you later."

She gives him a bow and turns to leave when he gets up and grabs her chin, causing her to gasp.

"Why leave now? We never get to the dessert." he said, pulling her close to him.

"T-Tempting, but I really need to go." she stuttered, trying to push him away.

"Come on, Damari. Just... trust me."

Her eyes are as red as his as they whirl around, and he hypnotized her with his left crimson eye. Vox smiles as he pulls back the hood to reveal her face to him.

"Aren't you a beauty?"

Before he can do anything, Damari's shadow's eyes glow red and they snap their fingers, sending the room into complete darkness as he touches her hair. Vox moves away from her, scanning his surroundings.

"W-What the fuck?!"

Vox crashes into the wall as Alastor smacks him away with a released tentacle.

"Gah!! Who did that?!"

With a shake of her head, Damari breaks out of her daze.

"W-What's going on?"

She bolts out the moment she sees a light coming through the open door. When Damari notices that her hood has been taken off, she hastily puts it back on before leaving the upscale dining establishment. Damari sighs and rests against the wall once she's confident she's safe.

"That was... crazy. What a day."

"Indeed it is." a radio voice said.

She recoils and spins around to see Alastor emerge from behind her shadow.

"I'm surprised how well you can manage to deal with Vox without freaking out. Quite impressive." he stated.

"Y-You were watching me this whole time?" Damari gulped.

"Well, I gotta make sure a lovely lady such as yourself is safe. You sure are getting used to this hell."

"And that blackout... that was you?"

"Yes, indeed."

Damari was taken aback by the idea that such a strong overlord would be watching out for and protecting her.

"I... Thank you, Alastor. I don't know what to say."

"Just don't tell anyone about it. And you're welcome."

"I won't."

"Now let's head back. It's been a long day for you."

Reaching for the Hazbin Hotel, he takes her hand and the two of them disappear into the shadows, only to emerge again. Seeing the hotel again makes Damari sigh with relief. Alastor stops her just before she enters.

"Ah, I almost forgot something."

She turns to him curiously.

"And what's that?"

With a snap of his fingers, a gorgeous red ring is shown along with a red magic.

"Here."

Damari was left stunned when he gave her the ring.

"What's this for?"

"For you to be able to disguise yourself like the rest of us without anyone noticing you being a human. Don't worry, I already picked a perfect demon form you're going to love." Alastor explained. "Just put it on and let the magic take over."

Doing what she was told, she puts the ring on her middle finger and the red magic swirl around her until they disappeared to reveal Damari in a swan demon form.

"Did it work?" she asked.

Alastor summons a mirror for her to get a better look at herself.

"See for yourself."

When Damari first looked in the mirror, she was startled to see herself disguised as an a demon.

"Whoa... I'm a... swan?"

"Yep. After overhearing your conversation, I thought you'd be a perfect fit for this one." Alastor grinned.

"...Hehe... Creepy, but thanks. This is... amazing." Damari said, admiring herself.

"But I should warn you that this form can only last for two hours. So use it well when you need it."

"Got it. And how do I get back to my human self?"

"Just remove the ring and you'll be back to normal."

She changed back into a human after removing her ring. The ring is kept near to Damari's chest.

"I'll be sure to take care of the ring." she promised.

"I know you will. By the way, what are all the stuff you got?" Alastor said, pointing to her shopping bag.

"Oh, I bought some sewing supplies for me to make and design. And that nice lady Beldam even gifted me a pendant, which really match my earrings." Damari explained, pointing to her earrings and a pendant.

"Ah, that's good. You think you can design me a new coat sometime?"

"Maybe I will. To show my appreciation for saving me."

"Never hesitate to call me if you need me."

"Yeah."

Damari and Alastor smile at one another and enter the hotel.
