This will probably turn into a rant, but I'll try not to make it one!

Intro
All of us Warrior Cat lovers have our very own warrior OC! (Or do you?) I know I have several! The problem is always deciding names and description. Now, I offer some tips on how to do a good name and description!

Description
Ha! You thought name would be first! Remember what I said about looks being related to clan in the last part? Well, you'll need to use that right now! When deciding your cat's description, you need to make sure you think realistically. "But CatScratch, what's realistic about cats who live in groups, talk, try to take over a forest, and battle each other?" Well, their looks are realistic, aren't they? Do not do a cat who has a perfect star on their chest, or a cat with a yin-yang Mark over their eye. As a VERY informed person on cats, I can say it is okay for, like, ONE cat to have purple eyes. It is actually an extremely rare mutation. A cat can't have pink fur, or platinum colored eyes. Back to the look and clan thing, what clan is your cat in? Let's say... ShadowClan. It makes very little sense to have a ShadowClan cat with a white pelt. Don't get up on your Highrock and tell me about Blackstar. I said it makes little sense, not that it doesn't happen. I'm not going to drag genetics into this, so I'll stop now. Anyway, if you need to, go back and review the last part! Another thing to consider: What actually looks good? A mix of eight different colors would be painful to look at! A good suggestion: Choose  one to three colors, no more(SOMETIMES Calicos make an exception). Then, choose an eye color that looks good with your pelt colors.

Name
Now, the fun part!
Names- Part 1: I know that you want a cool name, but you should make a description first. Imagine you are
a newborn kit's mother/father, seeing your kit for the first time. Although the name sounds cool, are you really going to name your gold-pelted kit Nightkit? If your name doesn't match your description, why does your character have that name? "Because of its personality, obviously!" No. No. NO. The parents don't know what personality their kit will have when they name it! You could name a cat Nightkit, and then have it be the bounciest, most sunshiny kit in the forest!

Names- Part 2: This is dedicated to prefixes that you can and can't use!
Some Prefixes you can't use:
• Ocean
• Mountain
• Car (you'd be surprised how often this one comes around.)
• Sea
• Luna (Guys, cats don't speak Spanish.)
• Star
• Summer
• Winter
• Autumn
For obvious reasons, these all are names that can't be used. Ocean___ irks me SO MUCH... The season ones, too. Maybe you're wondering why Spring isn't on there. The answer is simply because there is another spring that can be used: Spring as in the water formation. Remember, look back at your description first. Then, try another brainstorming session, starting with a color, or something like that. Some prefixes that you might not think are okay, but actually are:
• Wolf
• Spring
• Lavender
• Horse
• Sheep
• Cow
(Some others that aren't coming to mind right now...)
Now, for suffixes! When completing your warrior name, it's important to reflect on your cat's skills and personality! For example, let's say that you have a brown cat with green eyes named Sagepaw. Sagepaw is very compassionate, so for her warrior name, the leader (or you) could name her Sageheart. If you want to reflect on skills, if Sagepaw is a fantastic hunter, her name could be Sagepounce. Every suffix has a meaning!

Possible Eye Colors on a Cat

When coming up with your suffix, make sure you keep a few things in mind. I will definitely recommend not making prefixes and suffixes rhyme! For example, Rosenose, Frailtail, or Heatherfeather. These names sound awkward, and are very strange to read. Sometimes, certain names just sound awkward. A good example is Featherflower or Illuminatedpath.(I actually saw that one once.) I know better than anyone how sometimes it is nice to sort of make up your own suffix. I know because my first warrior cat oc had one.(Her name was Owlgaze)
A few suffixes that I made up(although some others might have thought of it)
• Gaze- a cat with good eyesight or something noticeable about eyes
• Chase- a swift hunter
• Stalk- a stealthy hunter
Just a small sample of some...

Ask any questions, as always! I have a strange feeling I forgot something, so let me know if you see something missing!
