So, this isn't going to be a reminder to use punctuation, because most of us should know how to use it. This is about using too much.

I know, too little, too much. When will it end? But I get annoyed, and after asking my friends they get annoyed, when people use like 20 periods after a sentence. The most you should use after a sentence is three, that's a dramatic pause. Let me give you an example.

Rachel heard a noise from the basement, and didn't know what to do.............. She slowly walked down the creaky stairs.............when she reached the bottom she saw........................A ghost.

Okay, I don't know if you got annoyed by that, but I always get annoyed when that happens. The same goes with exclamation points, the most I think you should be able to use is like three, and even then that's something you would never find in a real book. Here's an example.

She saw a ghost!!!!!!!!!!!! Not knowing what to do she ran back up the stairs only to be met with the ghost again!!!!!! She screamed, not knowing what to do. She ran out of the house to be met with an axe wielding person, oh no!!!!!!!!!

Goodness, that was horrible. Stuff like overusing punctuation can really annoy the reader and make them bored so chances are they aren't going to want to read your story anymore.
