I feel like I can keep this really short because while it should be simple some people can't understand. Apparently there's a trend going around of writers writing fanfictions and X readers about real life criminals and school shooters.

Let's make one thing clear. THAT IS NOT OKAY

Fictional criminals are generally okay depending on why the character is a criminal. This is because the people they've hurt aren't real, there hasn't been a real pain set out in the world because of them. But real criminals have hurt people. They've killed people. They've put so much pain into the world.

Our world has this weird idea of thinking of fixing criminals. Making them see their wrongs and making them good people. The majority of the time major criminals are sociopathic or psychopathic. This means that they can't be fixed. Don't try with a fanfiction.

At the end of the day remember that real people with families, siblings, children have died because of the criminals you write about. They've died. They had so much to give to the world and their light was snuffed out. Don't write stories allowing those criminals to steal the light that their victim's had.
