Sometimes her working late nights at the clinic has its uses.

It's not often that Giyuu has dreams, but when does, they're more often than not nightmares, that's what he told her.

Sometimes she'll come back from a night's work to see him having one. It's not often but it doesn't happen.

The door to their bedroom will always open with a creak, it's a sign of overuse and lack oiling, a sound she finds far too comforting in its own right. She's already dressed in her nightly attire, always sure to at least having clothes waiting for her in the bathroom when she knows they'll be a long day at the clinic, it's in situations like this where she finds it comes in most handy, and at least snubs the added stress that comes along with going through all the motions when she can feel the last dregs of consciousness dragging her down. When she walks into her room she's greeted with the sound of shifting sheets, and Giyuu stirring with small murmurs.

She waits.

Waits to see if it's nothing or something, most of the time it is something but she can never be too sure. The sounds continue until the murmurs slip into incoherent mumbles. They range from something about him not being sickly to something about his sister and his friend 'Sabito', sometimes they even extend to her

He doesn't talk about them much, but when he does she always had to reassure him that it's not stupid to get so upset over those things.

She makes her way over to the side of the futon, careful not to touch him, at least not until he's somewhat awake. "Hey," She whispers, her voice so low and small, made for only them to hear. "Yuu-san, wake up," It's those words that typically get him to wake up, the familiarity of them at least.

He rolls to his side, huffing as his eyes start to flutter open, he looks around before focusing on her, brief recognition flickering in his eyes. "I'm sorry," Are the first words he says, whether it's from the nightmare or something else she isn't quite sure. She shakes her head, laying next to him, covering her body with the covers as she stares at him unabashedly.

"You don't need to apologize, are you okay?" He shrugs, looking around for something, what it is she isn't sure until he tells her.

"How are Sachie? And Yue?" While she didn't particularly like furry animals, she still didn't, she had learned to make an exception for the two cats her boyfriend sheltered. Relationships were about compromise after all, and with help, a lot of it, she had learned how to coexist with the two animals especially since they slept in the bed with Giyuu whether she liked it or not, they always had slept there and most likely always would.

Sensing the disturbance of their owner, the two cats seem to wake up, Yue, the black and white cat with a white circle on her forehead rests on the edge of his pillow near his head, while Sachie, the pure white one laid between the two of them, curling up near his chest.

Carefully, as not to disturb the cats she held his hand and brought his knuckles up to her lips, and gently kissed each one of them. "They're okay and so am I,"  She kissed his wrist and looked him in the eyes. "what do you say we go back to sleep now, alright?"

He squeezed her hand, peering at her through exhausted, half-lidded eyes. "I... Will you stay?" She nods, leaning in and kissing his forehead. "Of course, love," She snuggles in closer to him, he yawns softly, leaning his forehead against hers. "Mmmmnnhhhh... Thank you, dear..." He sighs contently, and lets his eyes flutter closed and soon enough he's asleep.

Despite how tired she is, she watches him a little longer, enjoying his peaceful expression even if it's only for a little while longer.
