You didn't know what time you feel asleep again but when you woke up, the sun shone through the windows landing on your face. As you sat up and looked around for any sigh of your mother. Unfortunately you saw nothing that indicted an angel had visited you which confused you. "Did I just dream the whole thing?" You asked yourself. Everything you saw last night felt so real but it also felt too good to be true.

Sighing heavily and wiping a tear from your eye, you got up from the couch and changed into a different outfit. Last night you had slept in your day clothes so your outfit smelled a little bit. After getting changed you overheard talking from the other room. You know that is was Sam and Dean working on the case.
"Can I just say I'm getting real sick and tired of fighting things that look like other things?" Dean said. You knew he had a point, why couldn't this case turn out to be a ghost or even a werewolf?

"Maybe the ghoul is this Athena, " Castiel suggested. It was possible but you said nothing as you walked into the main room. You had a lot on your mind still, so maybe staying silent no one would notice that you came in.
"Yeah. A-a ghoul who owns a mortuary. That's smart, but…" Sam trailed off because Dean cut him off.
"No. She's got access to the bodies before they're ever in the ground. Anything she wants, she would just take. She doesn't have to dig 'em back up." Dean finished for his brother.

"She knows something though, " you squeaked out by accident. Despite covering your mouth everyone already knew you had said something. Sam asked what you meant but you said nothing unsure how to talk to him after last night.
"Everything okay?" He asked after a few seconds of silence. You nodded but he wasn't fooled by it, he knew that you were hiding something. For the short time he had known you, not once had you been this quiet.

"You sure you look a little pale kid, " Dean said to you. Sam elbowed his brother making him shut up.
"Just didn't sleep well, " you answered. "But don't mind me, we have a case to finish, " you continued. Jack interrupted the conversation by mentioning what he had found on his computer.
"I think I found something. I tracked the plates on the stolen truck from the crime scene," Jack explained. "And I went through the city's traffic camera footage, and look,  this is it. From yesterday, before the deputy was killed, " he continued.

"Well then who's driving?" Dean asked. After hearing that question you remembered how Athena had lied about being the only employee at the morgue.
"Wait I just remembered something Athena said she worked alone, " you said. "But I knew she was lying, because of well you know.. " you trailed off a bit before continuing. "Anyway I think she definitely knows something, " you finished.
Dean knelt down and zoomed in on the traffic camera footage to see the driver.

"Holy crap that's Dave Mather! " Dean exclaimed. Everyone else in the room including yourself had no idea what he was talking about. Unfortunately when you tried to ask, he didn't exactly answer.  "Good job kid, " he said to you.
"Who?" Sam and Castiel asked at the same time. Dean explained that the guy was an outlaw cowboy from the Dodge city gang. Fear crawled down your spine and you found yourself running to Sam's side. Not only was this guy a ghoul but he was a former outlaw from the old west. Sam was a bit surprised by this, but he didn't push you away as he figured this stuff was finally scaring you.

"He was one of the greatest gunfighters ever. I mean, he died in 1886, which makes this a little weird, but…" Dean trailed off as he took a picture of Dave of the wall. He laughed clearly excited about this whole thing. You didn't understand why, but no way were you going to let this Dave hurt anyone. "Mysterious Dave Mather. I'm gonna get my boots on. One of the best gunslingers ever! Whoo!" Dean exclaimed leaving the room.

"Has he ever been this happy?" You asked looking up at your father.
"No but I'm not complaining it's actually nice, " he answered causing you to laugh. It was the best you felt since you woke up that morning. Maybe after this case was over you could tell Sam the truth, you just needed a way to prove it. Dean interrupted your thoughts by coming in with a bunch if hunting weapons. Sam assisted him and you watched with great interest.
"So our ghoul ate some Old West gunfighter and stole his face?" Dean asked even though you were pretty sure he already knew the answer.

"That's what it looks like, " Sam answered and Dean laughed in response. Jack looked at the picture of Dave from earlier and realized he had seen it from before. At the same time you walked over to Jack wanting to see if your theory about Athena was shared by him.
"I think I've seen him before. There was a picture at the mortuary. He's Athena's boyfriend." Jack explained. You realized he had a point, and instantly felt sick at the thought of someone dating a ghoul.
"Ugh I think I need a bucket, " you commented.
"If you feel like hurling don't do it in my car, " Dean said to you.

A little while later, you were squeezed in the back of the impala with Castiel and Jack. While your Dad and Uncle sat upfront like always, you were suprised that neither of them had ordered you to stay at the motel. Though to be fair, you did have a history of not staying in one place when left alone. So maybe they had given up on keeping you away from hunting. After finding about your heritage, you understand why you had always longed to be like them. They were your family, and you were a Winchester, which meant you were meant to be a hunter.

"You've been awfully quiet, " Castiel commented pulling you from your thoughts.
"Sorry guess I'm just a little overwhelmed, " you responded which was mostly true.
"Do you need me to do something for you?" Jack asked and you laughed. He was so sweet and child-like, maybe he wasn't joking about being only a few months old.
"No I'm fine, " you answered. However despite your excitement about going on the hunt, it quickly turned sour when Sam wouldn't let you out of the car.
"Y/n I need you to stay here, "

"But I can help, " you argued. Sam sighed heavily, he could see that you had the same eagerness to hunt he had as a kid. He also knew that you would be angry with him for this, but in his mind that was better than you being dead.
"I know you can but it's not safe and until we know more, I need you to stay in the car, " Sam said to you.
"But.. " you began but Dean cut you off.
"You just have to take our word for it kid, its for your own good, " you grumbled but nodded.

The two walked away from you, and discussed a possible plan for how to handle the situation. "All right, " Dean said.
"So what do we tell Athena?" Sam asked. He knew that his brother was going to bring up that he was being overprotective of you. He couldn't help it nor did he wish to dicuss it. The only thing that mattered to him when it  came to you was that you were safe.
"Well, we keep it simple, tell her the guy she's banging eats dead people, " Dean responded. "and we're here to kill him, or we could lie, " he continued.
"Yeah we definitely lie, " Sam answered as the two of them descended into the mortuary to find Athena.

"Athena?!" Dean called out. The place was pitch black but their flashlights shone on her causing the girl to shriek. It was so loud that you heard it from the back of the impala. Felling worried for your father and uncle, you ran out of the car without a second thought. Castiel immediately noticed that you had left and chased after you. Jack followed close behind as well, hoping that you wouldn't run into a dangerous situation like this.

Meanwhile Sam and Dean had their hands full with Athena.
"What are you doing in my house.. Again!?" Athena exclaimed. Sam apologized to her but she quickly dismissed it. "I know who you are, answer the question!"
"Okay, my– my associate and I, we're– we're looking for your boyfriend." Sam explained.
"What is this about the grave robberies?" Athena asked and at the same time you came running into the house. Almost knocking over Dean in the process.

"What is she doing here?" Athena asked now even more confused. Sam shot you a look of disapproval but he didn't have the time to lecture you.
"This is about murder, " Dean explained to Athena.
"A what?" Athena asked instead of answering.
"Athena the sheriff's deputy was killed last night, " you said to you. She didn't believe you and called you a crazy girl. "If you don't believe me ask them, " you responded.

"She's telling the truth, " Sam said covering for you. "We just wanna talk to him. That's all. So… do you know where he is?" He continued. Athena paled before answering and you could feel that she was afraid.
"He said he was going to the bank, " she answered.
