The horrible, cursed idea

To turn the eeveelutions into sonic characters

And i wont actually post the sketch dump i did for their designs because wattpad's image quality would literally actually murder it, and the quality already got fucked anyway so yeah we're just gonna ignore that

BUT

I did ask a friendo on discord which one out of all 9 i should make a full drawing of, and they said i should do leafeon since they thought he was designed the best, and i was like YEE and halfway through coloring i was like "hmmm, what if i tried a watercolor aesthetic?" And well, lots of firsts happened and it kinda looks like a mess (cuz i had NO FUCKING CLUE what i was doing), but i still like the way it turned out a lot actually. It kinda reminds me of a scrapbook and of the watercolor art in childrens books and stuff.

It doesnt have any form of cell shading, just kinda vague darker areas and gradients to suggest shading and i think it looks pretty good actually.

And you guys probably already kinda picked it up but it isnt COMPLETELY sonic style, it just kinda looks cartoony and exaggerated more than specifically sonic, but i like it anyway, it was fun to do but BOY did ibispaint not enjoy processing all the layers and textures and shit i used

So funny story, i was lowkey super inspired by Dollightfull's series on youtube where she did the eeveelutions as dolls (fuckin LOVE Dollightful go subscribe to her right now), and i had to physically stop and ask myself while designing them, "ok, am i copying dollightful? Cuz i dont wanna do that." And the inspiration is still there but i hope it at least looks somewhat like its own concept lmfao--

Also i may or may not have unintentionally completely stolen my favorite sonic character's entire design and personality for one of them, and i was like "hmm why do i like this one's design so much?.... OH WAIT--"

So yeah lmfao. This was a huge rollarcoaster of emotions and mental debate and i might continue this with more of the designs that i liked or wanna improve on.
