Maki Nishikino's POV

"...aki-chan! Maki-chan!" Honoka waved her hands in front of me. I blinked twice. "Huh?" I asked.

"Maki, you're spacing out again. Is something wrong?" Eli asked me, looking concerned. I shook my head.

"Nothing, Eli. I just have a little headache." I said weakly. I just kept my head down so that no one will notice that I'm a little red.

I've been feeling feverish since I went to school today. I don't know why I'm feeling feverish today.

Idol practice just started and I haven't done my usual routine of warming up with either Rin or Hanayo.

"Maki, you need to warm up already. You might get cramps while practicing." Umi said to me while stretching.

"O-okay." I replied weakly. As I stood up, my legs became wobbly. "Maki-chan, are you alright?" Kotori asked.
I saw the other members stopped stretching and looked at me. With concern, I think. "Y-yeah. I'm fine." I said. It came almost a whisper.

I didn't notice that I was falling. Nico-chan caught me before I even hit the floor.

Nico-chan put her hand on my forehead to check my temperature. "Maki, you have a fever." That was all she said.

"So that's why you're not that active in class today, Maki-chan." Hanayo said.

I remembered that Nico-chan was still holding me so I blushed a little and pushed Nico-chan away.

"It's just a fever. I'll be fine." I said using my usual tone. "You need to rest. nyah.If you push yourself too hard, then there's a possibility that you will not be able to perform in our next live nyah." Rin said.

"Rin's right, Maki." Umi agreed. I looked at my friends for a while. They all looked so worried about me.

Nico-chan grabbed my hand and said, "Come on, Maki. I'm gonna take you home." I blushed in response.

"Just leave me alone, Nico-chan! I can go home by myself!" I said.

After I said those words, Nico-chan let go of my hand. I kinda feel guilty for what I said. I like it when Nico-chan holds my hand. Argh! Stop it, Maki! Just go home!

I picked up my bag and started walking towards the rooftop door. I slammed it hard when I got inside the school. Before I went downstairs, I leaned against the wall because I'm feeling dizzy. I touched my forehead and was suprised that I already have a high fever.

I dialed Mom. After a few rings, Mom picked up her phone.

"Hello?"

"Mom, can you please pick me up here at school?"

"What's the matter, Maki? You don't usually ask me to pick you up."

"Please, Mom. I'm not feeling well."

I heard Mom sighed.

"Okay. I'll be there. Wait for me in front of your school."

"Thanks, Mom. Bye."

"Bye, sweetheart."

I turned off my phone and started walking downstairs. I need to lean on some walls for support. Stupid Maki. You should have asked for help. I bet you want Nico-chan to escort you.

"Argh! Why can't I stop thinking about Nico-chan?" I said to myself. I continued walking towards the gate. A few minutes later, Mom arrived.

I need to rest tonight. I don't want to be absent tomorrow.
