The light was hitting Sam's eyelids, disturbing her sleep as her sight became covered with the reddish pink that told her it was time to get up rather than the vibrant colours of her dream. Feeling disgruntled at her rude awakening, she opened her eyes, jumping when she saw a far more princess-y room than she had ever been in before. The bed was comfortable, yes, but it was definitely not her room. Did she get a girlfriend and hit her head, forgetting everything?

The lack of headache suggested that was not the case. Walking over to the full body mirror only a short way from the bed, Sam had to clasp a hand to her mouth to stop herself from screaming. She wasn't the plain, long, brown haired girl she had seen so often, spots, freckles and scabs here and there on her face and arms, no, she was Kokomi Teruhashi from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. In other words, someone she could never hope to be.

'What is this?' She thought, backing away from the mirror, rushing over to her wardrobe, seeing the time and day, guessing it was a school day. 'Wait, it's probably fine, Saiki is in the same class as her and I can easily get to his house by walking, I can ask for his help.' She thought pulling the uniform on.

"Oh Kokomi!" Makoto, Teruhashi's older brother sang, entering the room without so much as knocking first. "How is the beautiful angel doing today?"

Sam cringed, Makoto was bad, really bad, and was way too invested in his sister for her to ever feel comfortable around him, let alone when she was literally the little sister in question.

Staying quiet Sam pointed at the door, not sure if she would be allowed to punch him in the face or scream at him. Sure, he may be a massive creep she would happily ignore if was stuck on train tracks, Kokomi might care about him and need him.

"My dear Kokomi, why are you being so cold to me?" Makoto complained, dramatically falling onto her bed.

"I'm still getting ready for school." She said through gritted teeth, making sure that her clothes were neat enough for Teruhashi, before grabbing a hair brush. "And you shouldn't barge into my room without me giving you permission. Get. Out."

"But Kokomi-" He started.

"Out!" She yelled, pointing at the door.

While shorter than she liked, Sam was pleased to find that Kokomi's hair was very easy to tame as she pulled it into pigtails either side of her face, the braids shimmering in the light coming off her.

Having deliberately left for school early, Kokomi's parents clearly not caring about their son's behaviour towards her, Sam made sure to pay attention to the direction Saiki had arrived from. After all, it would probably ruin Teruhashi's reputation if she followed someone home.

"Oh wow, good morning Teruhashi." A sea of teenage boys said, almost in unison. Smiling to hide how creeped out she felt Sam waved at everyone, making her way to Teruhashi's seat.

'So, after school I need to ask Saiki for help with this, but in the meantime, I need to not destroy Teruhashi's reputation.' Sam thought to herself, unconsciously pulling the uniform skirt down, why did it have to be so short?

"Ah, good morning Kokomi." Chiyo said, pulling Sam from her wandering thoughts.

"Oh, good morning Yumehara, can I help you with anything?" Sam asked with a bright smile. She knew it was useless, Chiyo was either in a relationship or crushing on a guy, but she was cute and Sam was already sick of all the lustful looks she was getting from the guys.

"Oh, no, don't worry. I was just wondering if you wanted to be in my group for the trip to Okinawa?" Chiyo asked, brightly. "Maybe we can both confess to our crushes while there."

"I'd love to be in the same group as you." Sam said, thinking about what was actually going to happen, sure Saiki would be relieved to know she was not going to fall in love with him, but sad she would have to wait so long for a girl to show interest in her if she was forced to stick around that long. "But you don't need to worry about me and my crush, I don't like him anymore, I guess my feelings weren't as permanent as I thought, I still don't understand love."

'I hope that sounded enough like Teruhashi.' Sam thought, although she was relieved to see the concerned, but all in all Teruhashi worthy look on Chiyo's face.

"Don't worry Kokomi, I'm sure you'll find someone someday. It can be hard to find out what lasts sometimes, but with a girl like you I'm sure you can do it!" Chiyo said, enthusiastically.

"You're too kind Yumehara." Sam said with a smile, knowing full well that any guy but the aspec Saiki would absolutely fall for Kokomi, but mourning the fact that everyone in this universe seemed to be straight. "Let me know if there's any way I can help you too."

"You're so nice Kokomi!" Chiyo said, pulling the other girl into a hug as Saiki entered the room.

'Aha! There he is. Saiki Kusuo, man of the hour. Definitely do not want to talk to him about this in school though.' Sam thought, enjoying the hug from Chiyo, although slightly disappointed it was only one of friendship.

'And he can read my mind, I need to shut up about girls now!' Sam thought as Chiyo walked away, inviting Mera into their group too.

Saiki almost fell off his chair hearing that thought from Teruhashi, it taking her a few moments after that to realise what she had thought.

'Damnit Sam! You're already messing up!!' She cursed herself, turning her attention to the teacher, trying to ignore the not so subtle suspicious looks Saiki was sending her way.
