Chapter 16

Woody's POV

I'm sitting by the campfire sounded by my girl and my new friends, but all I can think of how wonderful it would be to have both my old and new friends around me at the same time. I want to propose the idea to Bo but I have no idea how she'd react to it. I know Woody, you'll never find out the answer unless you get the guts to ask her directly. You can do this, Bo's your girl. There's no need to be afraid of talking to your own girl. I saunter up to Bo playfully. "Why little Miss, may I steal you for a moment?" She giggles and rolls her eyes playfully. "Yes Woody." She follows me out of earshot from everyone and we begin talking.

"Bo, let's go visit the old gang. I want to introduce them to our gang. Imagine how great it would be for the two of our groups of friends to intertwine." She bites her lip. "That would be great Woody but we can't go back on our word. We both chose the life of exploring rather than being boggled down by a kid forever. We can go visit them but we can't have it both ways. We either need to settle down on our own or settle for being some kid's toy. I know you've had conflicting emotions for a while." I sigh. "I know Bo. I promise that it's just going to be a visit." She sighs back. "Okay Woody but don't make a promise you can't keep. You know how I feel about that." I nod and gulp nervously.

I hate to admit it but Bo's right. I love being free from not having to cater to a child every moment but at the same time I miss the sensation of being loved for so many years by an innocent child, helping them to enter escapes from the stress that life often brings to humans. Who knows, maybe I can end up convincing the gang to join us full time eventually. That would be a dream come true! I'm not going to propose that aloud right now though. Some things are best to keep private, at least for the time being. Bo and I join our friends at the campfire once again and pretend that we didn't just have a somewhat serious conversation. We keep the mood light so no one suspects anything.

Giggle McDimples eyes us warily a bit but didn't question our private conversation. Thankfully even she knows her boundaries. Bunnie and Ducky have us play a game of charades for some evening entertainment. Bunnie is acting out an iconic scene from an action movie. We all shout out various guesses but it's actually Bo that gets it right. With an eager expression on her face, she shouts "Hunger Games!" I've heard of those movies but have never actually seen them. I know they have a lot of action in them but I would also classify them as fantasy and drama. Not everything can fit into a single bracket, some things simply aren't meant to be defined by just one quality.

When charades winds down for the evening, we have a campfire sing along. Music is relaxing for everyone so we sing along to the first songs that pop into our head. Some are silly and some are serious. Some are even have rap verses. We're just a normal group of friends having fun on a warm night.
