Prologue

It's been three months since the incident with Spark and Ember, Kai still needed to find his brothers.... But when.

Kai's POV

It was all black, all I saw was black.

"Whos there" I called, I saw two phoenixes fly down.

"Spark, Ember is that you," I asked

"Yes, Kai," said Ember

"Why?" I asked

"When are you going to find your brothers," asked Spark

"I don't know," I said

"Well go soon or now because we have to train you," said Ember

"Train me, train me for what?" I asked

"We will tell you when you find your brothers," said Spark

"Fine, I'll go this night," I said

They smiled and flew off, I woke up with a jerk

"What time is it," I said to myself, "7:38! I should have woken up an hour ago" I said in a nervous way. I got up and changed, I went to the washroom as I brushed my teeth I thought about that dream and what it meant. I walk to the kitchen to find a bowl of noodles, I smirked and sat down to eat. After I ate I went to the deck to find my brothers training and Nya and Master Wu watching.

"Looks like sleepy head is up," said Cole as he looked at me

"Hey, I ain't a sleepy head, I just had a really good dream," I said "Well you can say" I whispered

"That is no excuse for sleeping in, and because of that you will do the special training course," said Master Wu

"Huh, the special training course, what is that?" I said

"You'll see" said Master Wu, I stare in confusion

"Follow me" said Master Wu, we landed the Bounty and walked outside, he then tapped his staff on the ground three times, a training course appeared.

Master Wu's POV

I hope it is Kai, I can just sense it, and from what had happened in the past I am sure of it. I say to myself.

"No one has ever completed this course" I said

"No one, then why does Kai get to try, I bet you I can do it" said Jay

"Very well, you will all have a try but Kai will be last" I said

"Come on" said Kai

"First up is, Cole" I said

"Yes" said Cole

"Time to sit back and relax" said Nya

Cole's POV

I was ready to do this. I looked at the course, it looked harder that the old one. I breathed in and out.

"YOU READY YET!!!" screamed Jay

"Shut up and yes loud mouth" I said

"HEY!!!" screamed Jay

"3....2....1....GO!!!!" screamed Zane

I ran as fast as I can, thru the swinging axes then up the wall..., I was hit in the face with a swinging mace.

"HA!!" said Jay

"Cole you ok" said Kai as he reached down his hand

"Ya, I just didn't see that mace" I said as I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up

"MY TURN" screamed Jay "I bet I can beat Cole by a long shot" said Jay

"It's harder than it looks" I scream at Jay

"Sure" said Jay

Jay's POV

"Sure" I said to Cole, Im ready to show them how it's really done. I breathed in then out,

"3....2....1....GO!!!!" screamed Zane

I ran as fast as I can, thru the swinging axes then up the wall..., I was hit in the face with a swinging mace.

"HA, YOU GOT OUT IN THE SAME PART I DID" screamed Cole

"You ok" said Zane

"Ya" I said as I got up "Man, Cole was right, It's harder than you think" I said

"Hah" said Cole

"Nexted is Zane" said Master Wu

"Good Luck" I said to Zane, he nodded

Zane's POV

Both Jay and Cole failed, I shall not. I looked up at the sky, breathed in then out.

"3...2...1...GO!!!!" screamed Kai

I ran as fast as I can, thru the swinging axes then up the wall..., I was hit in the face with a swinging mace.

"WHY IS EVERYONE FAILING ON THAT ONE PART" screamed Jay

"You ok" said Cole

"Ya" I said as I got up, "Master why can't no one past that part" I said

"We still have Kai and Lloyd" said Master Wu

"If we can't make it, then they can't" said Cole

"Hey, at least let us try" said Lloyd

"Go ahead Lloyd, but trust us it's harder than it looks" said Jay

I went and stood beside Nya to watch Lloyd

Lloyd's POV

I looked up at the sky, breathed in then out.

"3...2...1...GO!!!!" screamed Kai

I ran as fast as I can, thru the swinging axes then up the wall..., I was hit in the face with a swinging mace.

"I GIVE UP, I AINT WATCHING ANYMORE" screamed Jay

"You ok" said Kai

"Ya" I said as I got up

Jay started to leave,

"Stop right there young man, we still have Kai" said Master Wu

"He won't make it" said Jay

"Hey!" screamed Kai

"Fine, but you'll see he'll fail" said Jay

I walk up to my brothers on the side to watch Kai

Kai's POV

"Hey, after this I need to go to the city, is that ok" I said to Master Wu, he nodded

I turned to everyone to have expressions looked like they'll know I'll fail.

Master Wu's POV

"Let's see if my predictions are correct" I said in my head

Kai's POV

I looked up at the sky, I breathed in and out. When I looked at the course I saw a path in red fire telling me where to go. I smirked

"3....2....1....GO!!!!" screamed Zane

I ran as fast as I can, thru the swinging axes then up the wall, duced when the mace came and jumped down the wall, I jumped on the moving wood pegs, dodging the spikes. I crawled under the electric net, then I saw water, the path told me to jump in, I hesitated until I heard a voice saying "You'll be ok", I nodded then jumped in. I used my fire to swim thru the water and dodge the blades, I jumped out and ran, I ran onto some ice and I light my feet on fire to melt thru the ice. Then I started to get blown back, I looked up and used my fire as a shield and as a boost, I made it thru and ran to the end with only one small scar on my face.

"Are you guys sure it was hard" I said as I turned towards them, I looked at their faces which looked like they saw a ghost

"Ummmmm, Im gonna go now... bye" I said as I ran and made my dragon and flew off to Ninjago City.

Nya's POV

"What in the world" I said in total awe

"H-h-h how did he do that!!!" screamed Jay

"My brother is amazing" I screamed

"Ok, Im the green ninja and I couldn't make it" said Lloyd

"I'm so asking Kai how he did that" said Jay

"Master how did Kai do that" said Zane to Master Wu

"I guess with practice" said Master Wu as he tapped his staff three times on the floor and the course disappeared

"There's something up" said Cole

"What do you mean" I said

"Well, Nya isn't Kai scared of water" said Cole

"Yes" I said

"Well, when he got to the water part you can see that he hesitated" said Cole

"Ya" I said

"But then he nodded then jumped in" said Cole

"Like he was talking to someone" said Zane

"Or someone was talking to him" said Lloyd

"So what you're saying is, Kai is getting helped by someone" I said

"Yup" said Cole

I sighed

"Let's go back and we'll talk to him when he comes back" I said

They nodded and we all walked onto the Bounty.

Kai's POV

"That was really weird, they looked like they saw a ghost, was it because I past the course and no one else could" I said to myself, I flew to the city and landed, I walked towards the backpack store. I entered and found a red backpack, I bought it and came out of the store. I flew off.

"I hope this bag is big enough for a trip, I think about a month" I said to myself, I landed on the Bounty and walked into my room, I placed my backpack under my bed. I walked to the game room, to find my brothers and sister playing.

"Hey, guys" I said

"Kai!!!" said Nya "How did you complete the course" she said

"Ummmmmm... I don't know" I said

"You don't know" said Jay

"Well, I say you got help" said Cole

"We noticed some different movement when you went thru the course" said Zane

"Well, tell us, who was helping you" said Jay

"No one" I said

"I don't like liars" said Cole "So, spill it" he said

"I SAID NO ONE!!!" I screamed as I ran off

Nya's POV

"Nice going guys" I said

"Well, we were trying to see if someone was helping him" said Jay

"And I still think someone is" said Cole

I stared at the ninja, gave them a look, and ran off after my brother.

Jay's POV

"Oh, we messed up... I messed" I said

"Messed up what" said Lloyd

"MY FUTURE WITH NYA" I screamed, they all looked at me,

"You need some help" said Cole, I glared at him.

Kai's POV

I ran towards my room,

"What is wrong with them" I said to myself, I walked into my room and grabbed my bag, I started packing up, I grabbed extra clothes, a picture of my family and other stuff.

"I just need fo-" I was interrupted by the creaking door opening, I turned around and saw Nya at the door. She walked in,

"Kai... what are you doing" she said in a scared voice

"Im well..." I sighed "Im packing up... to go on a trip" I said

"WHAT, how long" said Nya

"About a month" I said

"Why" she said, I couldn't tell her the truth

"To get away from the whole, "How did you do the course Kai" I said trying to impersonate Cole, Nya giggled.

"Ok, what do you need" she said

"Wait, your not mad" I said

"No, I understand why, just make sure you come back safe" she said

I smiled "I need some food" I said

"Ok, I'll go get some" she said as she walked off, my sister she is the best and she understands me.

"Ok, this should be enough for a month" Nya said as she walked in

"Thanks" I said as I took the food and put it in my bag

"When are you leaving?" Nya asked me

"This night" I said

"Well, be safe" she said as she hugged me

"I will" I said

"GUYS, DINNER IS READY!!!!" shouted Jay

"OK, WE'RE COMING" Nya replied, she walked out of the room, she stopped at the door and turned towards me and smiled then left the room, I sighed. I grab my bag and slide it under my bed, and I left to eat.

Jay's POV

We were all sitting and eating, I stared at Nya and noticed she was playing with her food, then I stared at Kai and he was doing the same,

"Nya is something wrong" I asked

"Huh, oh no, nothing is wrong... just a lot on my mind" she said, Nya looked up and saw Kai playing with his food,

"Kai, you should be eating you need a lot of energy" said Nya

Kai sighed "I don't feel like eating" he answered back, Nya glared at him and he glared back, me, Zane, Cole, Lloyd and Master Wu just stared at the two siblings as they glared at each other. "So" said Zane as he broke the silence,

"So, what!" said Nya and Kai at the same time

"Ummmmm... Cole?" said Zane

"So... how about we talk about how Kai beated the course" said Cole, Nya's eyes widened and Kai slammed the table,

"How about we not!!" said Kai in a rude way before stomping of to his room

"GREAT!!!!, I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER" screamed Nya before she walked off towards her room

"Guys, I think we screwed things up" I said

"WE KNOW" said Cole, Lloyd and Zane

Kai's POV

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH THEM" I screamed, I heard the door open, I was about to scream GET OUT, but when I turned around it was Nya,

"Let me guess, that made you more mad" she said, I nodded

"I just don't understand" I said

"It's ok, you'll have a month of a vacation" she said with a smile

"Ya" I said as I calmed down

"Kai?" said Nya

"Yes" I replied back

"Please be safe" she said as she hugged me

"I will" I said as I hugged her back

~Time Skip~

I got out of my bed and looked at the time,

"Nice an hour before everyone wakes up" I said, I went and grabbed my bag from under my bed, I was about to leave when I noticed I didn't write a note, so I grabbed a pen and paper and wrote a note and left it under my bed. I slowly walk out of my room and walked outside, I jump of the Bounty and made my dragon, and flew off towards the tallest mountain in Ninjago, which was about a week of a fly from here. I close my eyes and remember my sister voice "Please be safe", I open my eyes and look up at the sky, I promise.
