rosalind is simply put a girl in love with life. and yes, that sounds majorly cliche, but it's just how she is. that damn glass is half full. she's not always an optimist, but she always tries to be. positivity is priceless, so even if it isn't her first reaction, she always tries to achieve positivity. she's the type of girl to always try to present herself with a smile. she likes being bright. she's colorful and joyful. if rosalind is on her best behavior, she's a ray of sunshine. she's witty and she's polite. she tries to present the image that she's proper and perfect, when really she's just a girl who wants to laugh and have a good time. yes, rosa is all about fun. she may seem rather pretty and proper at first, but if she opens up to you, her playful side is rather evident. sometimes it's hard to miss the mischievous look that twinkles in her eye. it doesn't take her long to drop the proper facade. she's someone who tries to enjoy every moment of her life. whether that's going on crazy adventures or staying inside and cuddling up with a good book, she's there for it. though most of the time it's adventures. rosie is a definite adventurous soul. more often than not she's off almost getting herself into trouble. but she won't stop, because it's too much fun.

✧ BOLDNESS - rosa isn't someone easily intimidated. she's not afraid to stand up for herself or do something that wouldn't make other people uncomfortable. she's the type to not cave against pressure.

✧ CARING - rosalind loves dearly. when she accepts somebody into her life, they're officially one of her people. if you're one of rosalind's persons than you really don't have to worry about anything. she takes care of the people she loves as if they were family (and some of them are). she's someone who loves easily and gives out trust quickly.

✧ DAY DREAMING - now, i know what you're thinking. how is day dreaming possibly a weakness? now, it's not a huge weakness, but i'm starting you out easy. rosalind is a dreamer. she's the type to be consumed by dreams and ideas. sometimes the girl is so high up in the clouds dreaming that it's hard to bring her back down to earth. sometimes she focuses so much on dreams she forgets to make things happen in reality.

✧ STUBBORNNESS - yes, as can be expected from most people, rosalind is stubborn. in her case, especially so. she has her ideas and her thoughts and she's sticking to them. when she wants something to go her way, she makes it so. she doesn't like giving up. it's not in her nature.

✧ IRRESPONSIBILITY- sometimes rosa just focuses too much on having fun. she doesn't like to break promises or anything of the sort, but sometimes she does stuff that a responsible adult just shouldn't. she's always going wherever the wind blows her and not thinking much of consequences.

✧ CARING - for rosa, caring is both a strength and a weakness. yes, it's good in some situations, but not all. rosalind cares for people deeply... sometimes too much. her heart is easily won over. she falls for people and cares for them easily. a little too fast. this has lead to heart break and pain time and time again for dear ro.

✧ RESTLESSNESS - rosalind is someone who doesn't like to stay in one place or one routine for too long. she gets restless. she needs to move around, change things up. most people don't like change, but rosie is all about it. not everyone is okay with that.

rosie's fears are pretty plain and simple. the first is an obvious fear of losing someone she loves. i've already said that she loves deeply, so rosalind would be devastated to lose anyone of her people. her second fear is being bored. no one wants to have a boring or inconsequential life. she wants to be interesting, to make something of her life. she's afraid that won't happen. the next fear she has is being trapped. she's claustrophobic. she hates small places, but it's more than that. she doesn't want to be trapped in anything: a small space, a bad job, a boring life. she just hates being forced or trapped in anything.

◦ BACKSTORY ◦

rosalind was just a simple girl born and raised in in a small town. she was the second born child of mae and george wellbelove. her parents were rather plain and simple people. extremely loving, but nothing extraordinary. they raised their daughter to be kind and practical, exactly what she is today. rosa has two sisters: jaelyn and alaina. she's the middle sister or the two. rosa is nineteen, jaelyn is twenty-one, and alaina is the baby, only sixteen. the three were partners in crime. when they weren't screaming at each other and stealing each other's clothes, they were getting into trouble and braiding each other's hair. they had the classic sibling bond. you love to hate 'em, and you hate to love 'em, but at the end of the day you always have each other's backs. it was as simple as that. that's rosa's family and she wouldn't trade them for any other in the world. they made her who she is. that's someone invaluable. it's everything to her.

now, mae wellbelove (rosalind's mother) was a hard worker, and so was rosie's father. a lower-middle class family with three kids had to work extraordinarily hard to stay afloat. they never had huge money issues, but they never had much extra. mae worked in gardening while george worked in construction. it wasn't a glamorous life, but it was the life they had to lead. all three of their daughters pitched in from time to time by baby sitting and walking dogs, little jobs like that. they learned from a young age the value of hard work. that was something rosalind kept with her as she grew up and became independent. when rosa turned eighteen, she moved out of the house with her older sister jaelyn and got a little apartment. rosalind now works part time as a gardener and part time as a stable hand. you see, the rich population in her town is rather high, so there's plenty of rich people with fancy gardens and horses to be taken care of. and that's where rosie comes in. she cleans the stables of the prestigious polo ponies, and she tends to the grounds of the wealthy's mansions. it's a simple life, but rose loves working in nature. the plants and animals make her happy, and that's all she could ask for. it's how she makes a living and enjoys her days.

okay, but rosalind isn't all work and no play. no, she's a very work hard play hard type. the girl has two main best friends: margarita and lucas. the three could basically classify as a small gang. they've been the best of friends since childhood. they go on adventures together endlessly. whether it's an extensive roadtrip or just a trip to their favorite bar, the squad is always ready for a good time.

and now, we're closing in on the present. almost finished with her backstory, but you might be wondering about the selection. why did she join? how did it come about? well, rosalind was having a movie night with her sister, margarita, and lucas at her apartment when the letter arrived. all four of them were shocked. they should have expected it. selections were just what illéa did, but they're minds didn't wander to the royals much. margarita and rosa shared a look. they were both thinking the same thing. adventure... or just a good laugh while filling out the applications. so the two joined the very next day, making an adventure and a joke out of it. neither thought they'd get in, but they were still having fun with it. rosa was shocked when she actually got in. and that's how rosa came to be and how she's headed to the palace. watch out, everyone, ro's on her way.
