A war raged outside. Explosions went off, shaking the ground. Stampedes of animals raced through the streets while gigantic pieces of licorice crept over the buildings. Many of these structures have collapsed because of that. And the same thing was happening to one little factory near the apartment building. At last, the ceiling crumbled and a licorice branch fell through, knocking over a vat along the way. Toxic waste spilled out across the floor, along with a small curled up figure who was fast asleep.

"Are you sure this is a good idea Buddy? I don't like the idea of kidnapping Liam just to get to Max," Mel whimpered. Sighing softly, Buddy replied, "I know man, I don't like it either. But this could fix everything. You want Max back, right?" The pug nodded his head in agreement. Patting his best friend on the shoulder reassuringly, the dachshund declared, "Now come on, the apartment building is right next door. Just gotta get across these rusty old catwalks and-" All of the sudden, the ground beneath Buddy's paws gave out as the catwalk broke. "Buddy!" Mel howled in despair, unable to do anything as the dachshund splashed down into a vat of toxic waste below...

Buddy's eyes snapped open when a deafening explosion went off outside. The already crumbling walls of the factory trembled all around him. The city was under attack. Staggering to his feet, the dachshund had to practically drag himself out of the spilled toxic waste surrounding him. Pulling himself up to a broken window, Buddy shuddered when he saw the outside world. He couldn't recognize a thing.

A strange hissing noise caught Buddy's attention. Peering down, he came to the horrifying realization that his paws, oozing with slimy green chemicals, were burning up the concrete floor. Amazed by this, the dachshund also noticed that his eyes and ears were burning. Looking up at the broken glass of the window, he leaned in closer to see his reflection.

Slimy green liquid leaked from the corners of Buddy's eyes like tears. The same thing was happening to his ears, nose and mouth. His body was covered in chemical burns that strangely didn't hurt him at all. It was as if he was made of toxic waste.

Staring at the floor that his paws had burned away with a simple touch, Buddy felt satisfaction with what he was capable of and a desire to cause more destruction. Placing his paw against a foldable chair, the dachshund wagged his tail as he watched the piece of furniture disintegrate before his very eyes. Overcome by his new passion, Buddy crept through the abandoned hallways of the dilapidated factory, searching for an exit. He needed to get out, he needed to see what else he could do.

He needed annihilation.
