Yoongi POV

"Mother? What are you doing here?"

Aunt May sucked in a sharp breath, meeting eyes with me. "Hyuna, darling, I had no idea you would be here."

Mother? Did Hyuna just call my mom, her mom?

"Wait." I said, voice stern. All sets of eyes in the messy room were now on me. "I have a sister?"

Aunt May gave a slight nod. "Half sister, but yes."

Hyuna gasped. "What the hell?"

Hoseok did the same. "You didn't tell me Aunt May is your mother!"

The rest of the group started growing chaotic. The noise was driving me nuts. I felt like the room was spinning, and it wasn't going to be slowing down unless everyone shut up.

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" I shouted, the chaos diminishing to nothing, as if it had never even existed.

Hoseok flinched slightly, having never heard me raise my voice to such an extent.

"Aunt May, please explain what the fuck you mean about me having a half sister."

She winced, Hyuna's eyes were still widened from the shock, and Hoseok simply squeezed my hand.

Aunt May took in a sharp breath. "Your father... you know he was quite... troublesome."

"Abusive is the word you're looking for I believe." I chimed in. My mother gave a slight nod.

"I-One day when you were a baby, I met this man at the farmer's market. He stood by my side and protected me from anyone who tried to steal from me or harm me. He offered to give me a ride home so I didn't have to take the bus or a taxi. I agreed, and that's when he took me away from Daegu." A tear rolled down her cheek. "I was terrified at first. Except... after a while of being with him, I fell in love. I learned later that it was Stockholm Syndrome. But we were together, and I became pregnant with Hyuna. When I noticed him constantly sneaking out to the barn on our property, I followed him." She looked down at the ground. "The barn was full of women. Women whom he had kidnapped and raped. When I saw a child, no more than six, I knew I couldn't bring Hyuna up in an environment with that going on."

Hoseok gave my hand another squeeze, making me remember to breathe.

"I left a few nights later in the middle of the night. He never even knew I was pregnant. I raised Hyuna by myself. She moved out a year or two ago."

The kitchen was silent. Even the crickets seemed to worship the extraordinary silence.

Without warning, Taehyung started snickering. He covered his mouth, apologizing, and turning away from us as Jungkook eyed him warily. Watching Taehyung's shoulders bounce up and down made Jin start laughing, followed by Jimin, then Jungkook, then Hoseok, and before we knew it, we were all laughing.

It felt nice to laugh. It released all of the tension I was feeling, and it made the interesting revelation seem more like a natural conversation.

Hyuna laughed into Jimin's shoulder, which made me smile as I had already stopped laughing, basking in the cheerful sounds of my closest friends (and family, I suppose) laughing more than I've ever heard.

So i introduced my dad to the concept of AirDrop. This is what he sent me for his first attempt.
