Back Then

8:00 AM on the dot and Rabbit was ready for his meeting with Alice Liddell.

Alice had arrived in Wonderland when she was nineteen. It all happened when Rabbit had visited Britain as an actual rabbit.

She had been sitting under a tree reading a book, and he had been walking around in her garden looking at the non-talking plants in wonder. Then Rabbit attempted to discreetly take out his pocket watch to check the time, but Alice noticed.

Out of curiosity Alice tried to see why a rabbit had a pocket watch but Rabbit had run away. So Alice chased him, and down the rabbit hole she fell.

A girl up for change, she stayed in Wonderland, now she was 21 and here they were now.

Rabbit hummed to himself as he walked to her house. When he reached her house he took out the key Alice had given him and opened up the door.

The lights were out on the first floor. Alice was probably still sleeping.

He ran up the stairs and knocked on her bedroom door. "Alice?" Rabbit called out, "Are you awake yet?"

Then he noticed the door was unlocked. He slowly opened it saying,"Pardon my intru-" Rabbit cut himself off as he saw who was in there.

The person who shocked him was nobody. Nobody was in the room. Alice wasn't in her room or anywhere in the house.

"Maybe she forgot the meeting," Rabbit said to himself,"Maybe she went to the Queen's palace."

He wasn't so sure about that. As he left her house Rabbit saw that Alice's shoes were still there. She wouldn't have left the house without wearing shoes.

When he arrived at the palace he went to the Queen's office. He opened the door and saw Cheshire and the Queen doing some sort of paper work. It was probably police work.

The Queen turned around and brushed a lock of her long curly black hair aside. "Oh hello Rabbit. Are you needing something from us?"

"Did Alice come by today?" Rabbit asked, hoping she would say yes.

"No she didn't. Is that all you want to know?" The Queen asked.

"Yes. Thank you for your time," Rabbit said and turned to leave.

Cheshire looked up from his paperwork,"I haven't seen her today but yesterday Alice said she would stop by Dormouse and Hatter's place sometime today."

"Thanks. Also you should cut your hair soon, you're starting to look a woman," Rabbit said.

Cheshire flipped his purple hair that was past shoulder length,"Yes, and I look fabulous!"

Rabbit chuckled and left. He started to head towards Dormouse and Hatter's place.

They had started working on a project, a tea table in the middle of the woods. Today was the duo's day off on working so they would probably be in the apartment they shared.

He knocked on the door and it was immediately answered by a grumpy Dormouse. She looked like she had just woken up, for she was in baggy but comfortable clothing, her long blonde hair was unbrushed, and a steaming cup of coffee was in one hand.

"What are ya needing?" She asked gruffly.

"Has Alice come by today?" Rabbit asked.

"Nope," She said and closed the door.

From the outside Rabbit could hear Hatter complaining about something about hair and Dormouse yelling,"WELL CUT YOUR HAIR SHORT THEN!"

Rabbit sighed. He'd have to give up the search for today.

Alice had been blindfolded and gagged. Though her throat burned with thirst so it was unlikely she could've talked even without the gag. She was bound with rope. She was fully immobilized, the only sense she could rely on was her hearing.

Fingers crept up her spine and then to her neck. The fingers were cold like a corpse.

The owner of the fingers came close to Alice's face. Their long hair draped across her face and she could feel their breath reach her face.

"Finally... Something interesting will happen in Wonderland," The person said.

Alice panicked as she recognized the voice. Then a sharp pain seared through her and her consciousness fell into a dark abyss of nothingness.

Alice was declared as missing a few days later.

Then Cheshire and Dormouse cut their hair short.
