The next day

"Mommmm, Dadddd I'm going!" I yelled from the bottom of the stairs. It was Saturday morning and I gave up school work to go the mall with Kennedy.

"Alright hunny be safe." My mum said as they both came downstairs.

"Mani remember, n-"

"Yes pops. No boys." I said cutting him off.

He gave me a serious glare for interrupting but I just gave them both hugs as they kissed my cheek and forehead.

We were disturbed by the doorbell ringing. I guessed it was Kennedy so I opened the door.

"Hey." I said hugging her

"Hey, you look goood." She said
We giggled and she greeted my parents.

"Good morning mr and mrs Calvin. It's nice to meet you." Kennedy said politely.

"It's nice to meet you too." My mom said bringing her into a hug.

She shook my dads hand and he smiled at her .

It's hard for people to get on my dads good side but she was doing a good job  even though she had a piercing aswell. They started conversations while I was waiting at the door for them to finish.

"I think Mani's waiting ." My mum whispered in her ear .

She laughed and I rolled my eyes playfully .

"I'm sorry ." She said coming over to me smiling.

We said our goodbyes and went into her car.

"Wait can you take an Instagram pic for me first?" She asked

"Sure."

Mani took a picture of me and i was gonna post it on Instagram later.

I met Kimani in the library the other day. I didn't mean to sound insulting by what I said. I really hadn't noticed her at school , but she seemed like a really nice person so I wanted to be friends.

Let me tell you a bit about me..,
My name is Kennedy Samuels I'm 18 and I'm cuban and black. I live with my mom and she is the black one. My dad left when I was young and he's Cuban. I have a boyfriend called TJ and we've been together for 3 months. I love him to bits . He's a drug dealer... him and his bro Chris. They're like the top of Georgia. The best of the best as im aware of. Oh yeah, I have an older sister and a younger brother too.

"Where are we off too?" Mani asked

"The mall, we'll do shopping,eat and get to know each other more" as I said driving.

"Okay ." She smiled and looked at the road.

"So this is your car?" She asked me .

"Yep. My boyfriend got it for me." I said cheesing hard remembering that day.

"Aww that's so cute. He must be a very good boyfriend." She said looking at me.

"He is. He's wonderful."

"I can see he takes good care of you"

"Girl stopp." I said laughing.
We listened to some music before I asked...

"So have you had a boyfriend?" I asked her.
She shook her head no.

I raised my eyebrows and looked at her quickly. "You must be lying. How come, a pretty girl like you?"

She giggled "Thank you. Kennedy I'm not lying. I've always been really focused on school I guess, and my dads very overprotective of me." She told me.

"Wow, don't you want one?" I asked. I mean every girl needs some love and affection. Don't we?

"Umm no. Not now." She said giggling

"Damn girl" I said smiling as I parked my car.

An hour later

We walked the whole damn mall buying stuff, trying stuff etc. So now it was food time. We had both admitted we were starving.

We sat down will all our bags and ordered our food.

"Ughhh. I'm so damn tired." I said getting out my phone.

"Me too girl, I don't think I've shopped like this before ." She said laughing.

I laughed with her too and remembered the Instagram photo i needed to post.

"Oh yeah I need to post my picture." I said.

"You have Insta?" I asked her casually.

"Nope." She said.
My eyes widened.

"Mani? How... Snapchat?" I asked her although I didn't really use it either.

She shook her head.

"So what's on your phone." I asked curiously

"Messaging and basic stuff. Plus, I only text my mom dad and brother." She said.

"Ok ok. I'll- You know what, download Insta." I said.

She did just that and she signed up.

"Do you want to post anything?" I asked her.

"Well...-"
"What's that?" I asked. I saw a picture of her in the outfit she's wearing.

"Oh I took this this morning when I was ready." She said

"Well, why don't you post that ?" I asked.

I showed her how to do it and her ig was up and running baby.
Our food came and we talked and talked.

"Damn sis, how you get that many likes and comments." She looked at my phone.

"I don't know sis, but with that pretty face you'll be there too." I said. There was no doubt about that.

"And who is Chris?" She asked

"Oh don't worry I remember " she said again.

"Yeah he goes to our school and he's the biggest dealer in the state." I whispered .

"Dealer. As in drug?" She whispered back.

I nodded and she looked dumbfounded.

"He called me a hoe the other day when he got transferred classes." She said.

"What?! If anybody is a hoe then it's him!" I semi-yelled.
"He sleeps with every motherfuckin' female he sees tf." I told her.

Just then Kennedy's phone rang. I processed what she just told me. He's a drug dealer, A man hoe and an idiot from my view.
"Okay, by baby I love you." Kennedy smiled. She finished on the phone.

"Tj is coming, but he's also with Chris." She said rolling her eyes.

"Ohh great." I said chuckling.

I didn't care about him and didn't want to be involved in any petty drama .

We laughed and talked until two fine boys came and sat by us.
"Hey baby." The guy I assumed was Tj said. He kissed Kennedy and said hi to me.
I introduced myself to both of them like the nice person I am.

Chris was truly so fine but I have no time for guys.

"Hey sexy. Do I know you?" He asked me while examining me.

Kennedy could see i was a bit uncomfortable so she answered.

"Nigga don't look at her like that." She tapped his head while she was sat on Tj's lap.

"Ow, shit. Wah you mean ?" He said holding his head.

"Don't you remember stupid. you called her a hoe the other day. Disrespectful nigga" She said.

"Ohhh damn." He said laughing.

I looked up from the table and looked at him. Honestly the prettiest boy I've seen, but right now, his attitude stank badly. I don't like childish boys.

"It's ok mami, daddy will give you some of this dick later." He said putting his arm over me and coming right up to my face and laughing again.
I look at Chris then to Tj then Kennedy.
I moved out of his grip .

"What the fucks up with him?" Kennedy asked her boyfriend.

He rubbed his hands on his face.
"I think he's a bit drunk . We did drink but I'm completely fine."

"I think it's time to go." She said grabbing my hand."

We walked ahead of the boys and got in Kennedy's car.

Kennedy dropped me off home and I went inside to find my mom and dad making out on the couch.
I was so grossed out but it was funny.
"Hey Mani, how did it go?" My dad asked.
I laughed so hard and sat in between them while turning on the tv.
"Dad it's ok. No need to be embarrassed."  I said still laughing. "Besides I hear the headboards all the time." I said kissing them both on the cheek.

My mom and dad had me when they were 17 and 20. Meaning my mom is 35 and my dad is 38. I guess that's why we have such a good bond. But no offence, I would never want a child this early.

"Mani that's enough." My mom said nudging me.
I laughed at their embarrassment and went to my room.

I green messaged Kennedy to ask if she was home.
