Chief Vincent had brought what seemed to be half of the officers of the New York Police Department to where April had said the turtles would show up. All officers were armed with firearms, waiting for any sign of the turtles.

Ellie and Brooke stood just behind April, both girls occasionally glancing up at the sky as more pieces of whatever was building in the sky flew overhead.

"You're sure they're coming?" Chief Vincent then asked April.

"They're coming" She confirmed.

The two manhole covers in the alleyway were opened, and the four brothers climbed out from the sewers below. Leo and Mikey hopped out from the first one, while Raph and Donnie came out of the one just behind it.

Rising to their feet, the four brothers slowly inched their way towards the officers at the end of the alleyway. As the officers continued to aim their firearms at the four terrapins, they raised their three-fingered hands, doing their best to come off as non-threatening as they could.

"Hold your fire" Vincent ordered, her gaze not leaving the turtles.

Chief Vincent stepped closer to the turtles, followed by April, Casey, Ellie, Brooke and Vern. "What are you?" She inquired

"We're not really into labels" Mikey affirmed as he lowered his hands.

Leo then interjected. "Some call us freaks. Monsters" He added.

"Let's just say we're four brothers from New York, who hate bullies and love this city" Raph recited, giving her his own personal description of who he thought they were.

Donnie then turned to Chief Vincent. "And right now, we're the city's best hope" He enunciated.

At his declaration, Chief Vincent scoffed. "Why should I believe you?" She demanded, obviously not trusting their words.

Able to pick up on that fact, Leo spoke again. "You don't have to take it from us" He countered her previous statement. "Take it from him" He declared, pointing over to Vern.

Vincent turned to Vern, even more confused.

"Go ahead, Vern. Tell her about the arrangement" April implored.

"What arrangement?" He lightly chuckled.

Glancing over to the brothers, Raph cracked his knuckles, Leo glared at him while Mikey and Donnie simply stared at Vern.

"Oh, that arrangement" Vern conceded. "Look, the Falcon is still the Falcon" He reassured himself more than anyone. "I just may have gotten by with a little help from my friends" He admitted.

"These four are the ones who took Shredder down the first time. I was kind of more of a wingman"

Leo then interjected. "We've been doing our part to protect this city from the shadows" He added. Suddenly more debris flew above them, the speeds at which the large pieces soared through the air caused heavy winds to blow into the streets below.

"And we think we have something to offer," Leo remarked. "We're gonna need-" He tried to continue but was cut off by Raph stepping forward. "Strategy" He declared as he placed his hand out.

"Instinct" Leo added, quickly placing his hand on Raph's.

"Logic" Mikey continued following his older brothers and adding his hand to the pile.

Donnie topped off the pile with his hand. "And boatloads of heart" He finished as the four brothers' hands were all stacked on each other. They released their hands into the air slightly.

The police force jumped into action with officers filling up in cars or inside the large police van. "Load up" Vincent yelled at her troops.

Casey made a beeline for his car, followed closely by Vern. As they hopped in the car, the three girls quickly rushed over there as well.

"Brooke" A voice then called out to the youngest brunette above all the noise of the officers scrambling to prepare for what was about to happen.

Turning, Brooke saw Donnie hastily rushing towards her. Meeting him halfway, she quickly questioned him. "What's up?"

"I, uh, I figured you might want these back" He held out one of his hands which had her bow and quiver. She hadn't even noticed that the terrapin had been holding her archery equipment.

Grabbing her bow and quiver, she looked back up at the tall terrapin. "Thank you" She uttered, her gratitude could be seen by the smile that was plastered across her features. In return, Donnie gave her a timid smile back.

Snapping back to reality and remembering the situation at hand, Donnie rushed to catch up with his brothers who were loading into the large police van while Brooke ran back over to Casey's Dodge. Which now had April, Ellie and Vern in the backseats.

As she practically jumped into the car, Casey started up his engine, following behind the squadron of police vehicles that had their sirens blaring.

All the vehicles sped down the streets, in typical formation, weaving through other motorists and pedestrians in order to reach the destination.

Once the road branched into two separate lanes, half of the police cars followed the turtles inside the van while the other half went with Casey, Brooke, April, Vern and Ellie to Pier 90 where Donnie had identified the electromagnetic force that originated the portal.

"All right, they're splitting up" Casey muttered, splitting off to the left.

"Wait, we aren't going with the turtles? Why aren't we going with the turtles?" Vern asked, his voice tremulous. "When something bad happens, you wanna be with the turtles!" He loudly proclaimed.

Ellie glanced over to April, wide-eyed, during Vern's freakout. Her dark brown eyes said everything without her having to open her mouth. April, picking up on what she was trying to say with her expression, slowly nodded back. As if to say, 'Yes, he's really like this'.

Continuing their fast travel down the road, more pieces of the large round object that was still building in the sky smashed into buildings, causing large chunks of debris to fall onto the road. Endangering not only the officers and they made their way down them but also regular civilians.

Other motorists swerved around the rubble, but as more fell onto the roads some vehicles, not having enough time to stop, crashed directly into the large cement debris.

"Woah, woah, woah, Casey!" April yelled from the backseat, seeing how close they were to ramming straight into the wreckage.

"Hold on!" Casey instructed as he swiftly turned onto another road. "I'm going in" He then said, making another sharp turn, this time towards the building that held the origin of the portal.

Police cars followed, sirens still blaring. As they approached the entrance, yellow poles suddenly began to pop up from the ground. Whoever was inside definitely knew they had arrived.

Casey stepped on the gas, hoping to make it through before they could be stopped. The black Dodge seemed like it was about to make it when one of the poles suddenly came up from underneath the car, hitting the back end of the Dodge and sending it through the air.

The quintet all screamed as they were flung around in the car before the trunk of the vehicle smashed against the top of the building, the glass breaking instantly upon impact.

As the Dodge rough touched back down onto the ground, the garage door closed behind them, leaving Casey, Vern and the girls without police assistance.

White steam came from the hood of the vehicle as the quintet staggered their way out of the car, attempting to catch their breaths and clutching some parts of their bodies that may have been slightly injured during their little soar.

After a few moments, everyone managed to collect themselves and prepared for whatever they were to face inside the building.

A distant sound caught Casey's attention. "Do you hear that?" He asked. "It sounds strange" He quickly added.

"Like 'alien spacecraft in the sky' strange?" Vern alleged.

"No" Casey rebutted. Stopping in his tracks and holding his arms out to halt everyone else. "That kind of strange" He cautioned.

Bebop and Rocksteady suddenly came out from around the corner, riding on what looked to be modified West Coast Chopper bikes.

The quintet quickly ducked behind some large containers, concealing themselves from Bebop and Rocksteady's line of sight.

"Listen" Casey then spoke. "You three secure the portal device" He instructed to April, Ellie and Vern. Meeting Brooke's hazel eyes, they didn't have to exchange any words to know what the other was thinking. "Brooke and I'll deal with those two" Casey declared.

"Secure the portal device? What does that even mean?" Vern babbled.

"It means kick the butt of anyone that's guarding it, wait for Donnie's go signal, and shut it down" Casey stressed.

Vern still didn't seem thrilled with that idea. "Yeah, but we don't know how many people are guarding it!" He noted.

"Well we can always switch if you'd like, Vernon" Brooke then offered.

April, Ellie and Vern all looked over at Bebop and Rocksteady, just as the latter let out a loud roar. Subsequently deciding their roles. "Yeah, no. We're gonna secure the portal" Vern consented.

Brooke and Casey nodded at that. "I thought so" The latter announced before jumping from the hiding spot to distract Bebop and Rocksteady away from the others.

As Brooke went to follow, Ellie briefly grabbed his sister's arm. Turning Brooke's attention back to her. "Be careful" She cautioned.

"I will" Brooke promised before joining Casey.

"Hey, fellas! Remember us?" Casey yelled out catching the two mutants' attention.

Apparently recognising the two former cops, Bebop and Rocksteady seemed almost amused by their presence. "Look who it is" Bebop acknowledged.

"Hey, coopers, how're your noggins?" Rocksteady joked as he tapped his rhino head with his giant finger.

"Come on!" Casey egged, both he and Brooke indicating for the two mutant felons to come after them.

Bebop and Rocksteady fist-bumped each other. "As you wish" Rocksteady crowed. Bebop released a small growl and snort before the two mutants revved their bikes, prompting Brooke and Casey to take off running down another direction of the enclosed container depot.

The two mutants whipped past the still-hidden April, Ellie and Vern, quickly chasing after Brooke and Casey. Giving the others the chance to jump from their hiding spot and begin the search for the device to close the portal.

Continuing to run through the depot, Brooke was slightly in front of Casey as they ran past more containers and other random supplies that were scattered throughout the area.

Remembering what her high school P.E. teacher had told her not to do when running, Brooke didn't look back at her two chasers. She was simply focused on making sure her running strides could carry her far enough away from them.

Relying on her hearing, Brooke guessed that Bebop and Rocksteady were a fair amount of distance behind Casey and herself. But being unable to see him, Brooke was unaware that Casey had ducked around a white container and was now hiding behind a few parked cars.

Having seen where Casey had gone, Bebop jumped from his bike to search for him. The warthog lifted up one of the cars by the bumper, revealing Casey who was trying to hide behind another one of the cars.

"Gotcha pipsqueaks!" Bebop announced, slamming the car he currently held against the white container. Smashing the back of the car.

As Bebop continued to flip the rest of the cars, hoping to halt Casey's escape. Brooke, having heard Bebop's loud announcement, had climbed atop a grey land cruiser inside the depot and had her bow loaded and aimed at the felon.

Releasing the arrow, it soared and hit Bebop directly in his arm. Catching the warthog off-guard, allowed Casey to get to his feet. However, just as he stood up, Rocksteady suddenly reached him and kicked him backwards. The force of his kick sent Casey flying backwards and right into Brooke, who was still on top of the car.

With the brute force of Rocksteady's kick, Casey slammed directly into Brooke sending them both down hard to the ground. Both former cops groaned as they propped themselves behind the car.

Brooke turned to Casey. "We can't beat them with brute force" She affirmed, gripping her arm. Figuring that after this whole situation had been dealt with, she'd have to be checked out to make sure she hadn't broken or injured anything.

Casey didn't reply, his head turned and focused on something. Following his line of sight, Brooke's hazel eyes landed on rollerblade wheels. Casey quickly began to attach the wheels to the bottom of his shoes, utilising some ducktape off an office chair that was also nearby.

"You see them, Rock?" Bebop asked his mutant buddy. "We know you're here somewhere" He decreed.

Just as Casey had taped the wheels onto his shoes, again, Bebop found the two. While Casey jumped to his feet and started skating one way from the giant warthog, Brooke ran the other way. Bringing her right in front of Rocksteady.

The large rhino appeared to have ditched his motorcycle bike and instead decided to go after the young brunette by using hand-to-hand combat. Obviously, Brooke was at a massive disadvantage. So instead of stupidly trying to go up against him, she ran for cover behind dozens of shipping and vat containers.

Rocksteady quickly followed her, hoping to catch her. But somehow, by the time he had reached where he had last seen her, she was gone. It puzzled the large rhino how swiftly she had seemingly vanished into thin air.

Brooke had concealed herself by climbing on top of one of the shipping containers. Her hazel eyes beadily watched Rocksteady search around the area for her. Her mind laughed at how clueless the felon was.

Reaching back into her quiver for another arrow, she readied to fire another one. Her fingers shook as she aimed her bow, knowing that as soon as she shot the arrow she would give away her current spot meaning she'd have to quickly find another one.

Managing to halt her shaking hands, Brooke released the arrow. The dart landed next to Rocksteady's head as he looked around a storage container for the small brunette. He looked up in the direction that the arrow had come from, but Brooke had already made haste and was gone from her spot.

Ducking down to the ground, she hastily but quietly stepped around the container and looked for another spot to hide. By some pure luck, one of the last containers was open so she jumped inside, quietly shutting the thick door behind her.

Covering her mouth with her palm, Brooke attempted to conceal her heavy breathing. Outside of the vessel, she heard Rocksteady continue to look for her. Lifting up cars and other objects hoping to find her, only to come up short.

"I'm gonna find you mini cop" He warned, suddenly punching one of the nearby metal crates. Spooking Brooke badly, almost causing her to yelp in surprise. Managing to keep her composure, her hand remained over her mouth, to silence any noise that may involuntarily pass her lips.

The sound of weighty footsteps walking nearby made Brooke's grip tighten on her bow. Her knuckles turned white with how hard she was gripping the weapon. As if he was teasing her, Rocksteady's footsteps slowly came closer to the container she was inside.

The revving sound of a bike then echoed through the warehouse. Heavy footsteps then headed in the other direction. Cautiously, Brooke peered her head out of the shipping container she was hidden inside to see Rocksteady chasing after Casey on foot while Bebop jumped back onto his bike to follow. "Ha! Game on, baby!" The warthog announced.

She jumped out of the holder and followed after them. Because she was so far behind them, there wasn't much she could do aside from continue chasing after Casey, Bebop and Rocksteady.

While she was still following after Casey and the two mutant felons, she passed by Rocksteady's abandoned bike. On the back of the motorcycle were a few hand grenades. Quickly knicking one of the explosives off the back, she then returned her pursuit.

Using the rollerblade wheels on the bottom of his shoes, Casey skated through a slim aperture between rows of parked cars. Rocksteady let loose another roar as he fell to all fours, trailing behind the stick-wielding skater.

Since Rocksteady was wider than the gap between the cars, as he chased Casey the cars flipped when he made contact with them.

Seeming to have his own plan, Casey skated up to an open brick red container. Appearing as if he was going to skate into it, only to use the metal pole that he held to swerve out of the way. Letting Rocksteady run into the crate followed by Bebop on his bike.

With the two felons being slightly boxed in by the large motorcycle, Brooke managed to catch up to Casey. She wedged one of her arrows between the body and lever of the hand grenade. Aiming her bow once more, she signalled at Casey to pull out the safety pin.

Knowing what she wanted him to do, he swiftly yanked out the ring. Not having much time before the grenade would go off, Brooke fired it into the container with Bebop and Rocksteady. Casey also shut the doors to the crate by using his metal pole to flip up the nearby switch.

Causing the thick doors to slap shut. Trapping the two felons inside. The explosive then went off, shaking the outside of the crate slightly.

The two former cops high-fived, both of them proud of the other and thrilled that they had completed what they had originally set out to accomplish, before sprinting off to meet back up with April, Ellie and Vern.

"Rock" Bebop spoke to his buddy.

"Yeah, Beebs?"

The two mutant buddies shared one fist bump. "My man"

Meanwhile, April, Ellie and Vern had found their way to the portal device. "Look, there it is" April murmured.

"Oh great, she has a sword. We have a hubcap" Vern preached, understanding that without any real weapons, the three of them stood no chance against Karai.

The trio continued to inch themselves closer to Karai and the portal device. Seeming to have known they were there the entire time, Karai turned to face the three of them. She exhorted them to face her, drawing her sword from its sheath.

She swung herself and her sword at April and Ellie. The two unarmed girls barely dodged her attacks, before Karai kicked April backwards into a stack of empty cases.

Vern stepped to her, turning Karai's attention to him. Vern attempted to grab her arm that wielded her weapon but being swifter and faster than him, she kneed him near the lower abdomen before flipping him to the ground.

However, Vern had succeded in disarming her. Having knocked her sword from her grasp. Karai ran to pick up her weapon only to have it kicked away by Ellie. The kunoichi forgot about her sword for the moment and instead went after the artist without it.

She managed to grab Ellie, pushing her up against some more cases. One of Karai's hands was wrapped around Ellie's neck, greatly constricting her breathing, while the other held down one of her hands.

"Say goodnight, pretty princess" She taunted, her grip tightening.

Ellie was quickly running out of air. She used her free hand to try and pry Karai's hand off her neck, but her best attempts were futile as with the more oxygen she lost the weaker her movements became.

Just as her vision began to become blurry, Karai was shoved off of her. Releasing her grip on Ellie's neck. Instantly she began to take in deep breaths of air, making up for the breaths she had missed out on while Karai was choking her out.

Looking over at Karai, she saw that it was both April and Vern who had saved her. Karai was again swinging her sword at April. Vern, in an effort to distract her, rolled an office chair in her direction.

The kunoichi evaded the chair, before kicking and swinging at Vern. While Vern was currently losing his little scuffle with Karai, and Ellie stood by the cases she had been strangled up against attempting to regain the air she had lost, April had worked her way behind Karai and grabbed a laptop that was resting on the desk.

As Karai slammed Vern's head against another tall stack of cases, April swung the laptop as hard as she could at Karai's head. Knocking her out.

Having finally gained back enough air, Ellie ran to help Vern to his feet after being knocked to the ground. At the same time, Brooke and Casey rejoined them. The latter rolled in thanks to the wheels on his shoes.

"Guys, now! Close the portal now!" Donnie's voice suddenly came through one of the monitors, giving them the go signal.

"I got this" Casey avowed. He hit the portal device once with the metal stick that he still wielded, effectively shutting down Krang's portal. And ending his invasion of Earth before it even began.

Liberty Island had been closed off to the public for tonight. The Statue of Liberty was illuminated, shining its regular oxidised copper colour. Providing the few people who were allowed on the island an up and close view of the national monument.

A small crowd stood around the bottom of the Statue, members of the crowd included April, Brooke, Casey, Ellie, Vern and many members of the NYPD task force.

Vincent stood at the front of the crowd. To her left stood Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey, who she was currently awarding for their defeat of Krang. "For your incredible valour within this community, and for your uncompromising cooperation with this agency, I present to you the keys to the city" She announced.

"A symbol of our appreciation, respect, and for our continued partnership. To you brothers, Leonardo, Raphael Donatello, Michelangelo" Vincent trailed off, quietly asking the four turtles for their last names.

After confirming that the four mutants held no last name, Vincent offered them one final congratulation. Everyone else then began to clap for the turtles. It was strange for the terrapins, to have people applauding them instead of shunning them.

But was certainly something they appreciated. And could maybe even get used to it.

Ellie and Brooke both grinned as they applauded the four terrapins. As the applause began to die down, the two sisters turned to engage in conversation with April and Casey.

"So, you three got plans for the weekend?" April asked.

Brooke nodded. "Yeah, a forty-eight-hour-long sleep" She jested, causing all of them to laugh.

"I got a hockey game" Casey replied to April's earlier question. "Do you wanna come watch me play?" He asked, turning slightly to April.

April raised one of her brows playfully. "Watch? I'll take you one on one" She stated. "And I'll kick your butt" She added.

Ellie and Brooke smirked at their banter. Brooke leaned into her sister's ear and whispered. "Ten bucks says this is going to be a long game of cat and mouse for them" She foretold. Ellie, always up for making a quick bet with her sister, nodded back. "Oh, definitely" She chuckled.

Normalcy was not going to be easy to adjust back to for them. But both girls knew that no matter what happened after tonight, their lives would be forever altered by April, Vern and the four mutant ninja turtles they had met in that alleyway.
