Y/n had been friends with Shindou for years now, and over that time she'd caught on to a not so tiny secret of his.... Yeah, Shindou was absolutely head over heels in love with her. And today will certainly be interesting, knowing that...

"Morning Y/n. All ready for today?" Today the football team and the managers [Yeah you're a manager for this one okay Reader?] were going to a bird park for the day, as a reward for all the hard work they'd put in lately. Cool, right? Uh, hell yeah!! Birds are great.

"Hai!" "Great! Go wait with the others, once everyone is here we'll start leaving." Endou-Kantoku said. Y/n nodded and made her way to the others.

"Morning minna." "Hey Y/n, you're just in time. Look." The scene Y/n was greeted with was Kirino and Kariya arguing loudly to each other, Shindou and Shinsuke trying to break it up, Tsurugi looking like he had better things to do and finally Tenma pulling on Tsurugi's arm trying to get him to help. Well then....

"Ugh, really?" Y/n rolled her eyes and marched over to the arguing boys. "Alright, both of you shut up." She said, giving them both a mighty shove sending them out of their little feud. "Everything good now? Great." She grinned at them. "Why were you two arguing anyway?"

"Because you deserve to know---" "Absolutely nothing, nothing at all." Kariya began to say something, but Kirino clamped a hand round his mouth, silencing him. "Okay...? Well why don't you both just leave it, focus on something else? And I think you're suffocating Kariya." Kirino let go in a panic. "Oops, sorry." "Oh shut it strawberry."

"Okay, everyone got partners?" "Yep!" Everyone managed to find someone to go with, Kirino and Kariya, Shindou and Y/n, Tenma and Shinsuke, etc... They boarded the bus and got settled into their seats.

"So, it's a bird park we're going to right?" "Yeah." "Hmm... Do you think they'll be peacocks there?" Y/n asked. Shindou shrugged. "Probably. Yeah, I think I've been there once already, and there was peacocks there that time, so I think so." "Huh, neat!" Y/n grinned childishly, and Shindou couldn't help but blush. Goddammit Y/n stop being so adorable!

They were allowed to go off in their pairs, provided they didn't stray to far, once they got there, so that's what Y/n and Shindou decided to do.

"Hey, cool, look!" Y/n pointed to a nearby pond with two swans and about 4 or 5 baby signets in it. (Technical word for baby Swan apparently.) She took out her phone and began filming them happily, while Shindou stood and watched her. She may be childish sometimes but she was so god damn adorable to him. Just as he was getting sidetracked by his thoughts, he heard a disappointed groan.

"What? What is it?" "Look! I can't believe those bits have just done that!" Y/n pointed to a group of boys about 10 metres away, who were throwing sticks and other debris into the pond at the swans, sending them swimming away in panic. "That's horrible, why would anyone do something like that?" "I don't know, honestly, some people are just like that. C'mon, I think I heard something about more birds being down that way." Y/n got up and started walking towards the path, only problem was hey had to walk past the boys to do it.

As they walked past, the boys stopped Y/n. "Hey cutie, you here alone?" One asked. Y/n giggled and shook her head, masking her annoyance. "No, I'm with a friend. Speaking of which, I need to get back to him." She said, turning around. "Oh, really? Well if he's just a friend then he won't mind us borrowing you for a bit, then, will he?" Y/n's eyes widened in disgust.

At this point, Shindou was getting seriously jealous, so much so that he had to do something. Swallowing his nerves, he walked over and the following scene happened.

"Shindou, what are you--" Y/n didn't even get to finish her sentence as Shi dou took her by the hand and pulled her away from the boys. "There you are Y/n, come on let's go." "Hey, wait a minute girly boy. [Such an original insult I know] We were just having fun with this girl here." He said, pissed. "Oh really? Well it looks like Y/n here would sooner drown herself in that pond than hang out with a bunch of slimeballs like you!" And with that, they walked off, ignoring the comments.

"Thanks Shindou, I really appreciate what you did back there." "Well, I had to, they--" Y/n rolled her eyes and cut Shindou off, with a short kiss. "Shut up. I know why you did it. Now let's get back, 'Girly boy'." She teased. "Hey, that's not--" Y/n cut him off again. "Geez, stop being so jealous."
