A/N: Trying something new right now. I really need to get character dynamics right for an Original Book I'm working on so I'm testing it out here. 

Lapis: ...Huh?

Lynn: *calmly* Oh, hi. You want some tea?

Lapis: Um... no, i- is this a kidnapping? (He's looking around, his eyes frantically taking in everything, and looking for ways out.)

Lynn: . . . Name the definition of kidnapping.

Cassandra: Lynn, shut the fuck up. 

Cassandra: *Turns to Lapis with a kind expression* Dear, you've got it all wrong. 

Lapis: *looks at Cass skeptically*

Cass: *smiling forcefully* Look at my kind face-- you really think I'd do that. 

Lapis:  . . . To be honest, yeah.

*At that moment, a small Night/Ice hybrid and a SkyWing waltzed in.*

Ren: Who's this sucker? 

Rory: *yawning as he descends from the stairs* Interviewing gig. 

Liori: Oh, good. We're very broke. Lynn keeps on wasting our coins on grass water. 

Lynn: *huffs* You people simply don't get the luxury of tea. 

Lapis: Wait-- wait. Did you just say interviewing? I never signed up for this!

Lynn: Ah, well, your creator did.

Lapis: . . . What?

Rory: Oh my god! This is hilarious. It's been a while since I've met a fictional character that doesn't even know they're not real...

Cassandra: Can you two stop announcing government secrets everywhere? *she rubs her temples* I am going to be in so much trouble with Queen Thorn. 

Lynn: *she shrugs* Laws are just a suggestion.

Cassandra: Great, 'cause I wanna commit murder right now. 

Liori: (they glance at the overwhelmed dragonet and sympathize slightly.) What's your name? 

Lapis: ...Lapis

Liori: Like the Pokemon?

Rory: *scowls and says in a matter-of-fact tone:* That's Lapras. 

Ren: *snorts* Nerd.

Lapis: *slowly* No...I'm named after the stone. 

Liori: That's cool. I was named by some teenager who had no creativity and just stole the name from their neighbour's dog. 

Ren: HEY! 

Lapis: . . . I'm not sure I want to know what happened. 

Rory: well, I want to know what the fuck happened to you for you to end up like this. 

Lapis: As in, how I ended up surrounded by dragons I don't know, or my backstory? 

Rory: *grins* Both. But mainly your backstory. 

Cassandra: *face softens* You don't have to tell us if you don't want to, though. 

Lapis: *sighs in relief* Thank yo--

Lynn: *smirks and slowly pulls up the corpse of an angler fish*

Lapis: FUCK! OKAY, OKAY, I'LL TELL IT. 

Rory: You're afraid of a fish?

Lapis: *slightly embarrassed* Um... a bit.

Ren: But why? Just eat the fish if it scares you. Then it can't. 

Liori: That's his moral for everything that scares him. Poisonous snakes is his fear.

Lapis: How are you still alive?!

Cass: Oh trust me. He's eaten worse. 

Lapis: *smiles bitterly* That reminds me of my family. 

Liori: *confused* Your family eats snakes? 

Lapis: oh, no. The writer just got too tired of trying to stay on topic. 

Rory: Ah, a classic. 

Lapis: This is really embarrassing. (He looks at the ground and avoids eye contact.) I was born into a family who works for the Talons of Peace. When I was two, I got sent out to sabotage Queen Blister's training, but I got caught. (His voice wavered and his expression crumbled.) I- I barely made it out alive, had Queen Coral not interfered. She... she offered me a job and a place to stay. I'm sorry-- I don't-- I don't think I can continue right now. 

Lynn: It's fine. Take your time. (she looks cruelly unphased though; expression blank.)

Ren: Who are these Talons of Piss people!? What kind of dumbass sends kids out there. That's basically sending you on a suicide mission. *He huffs*

Liori: I think they are very, very stupid and should go eat shit. 

Lapis: *surprised at first, but eventually bursts into laughter. Eventually, everyone joins in.*

Liori: *confused as fuck*

Lapis: I- it's just-- I never expected you to be that vulgar.

Liori: Oh. I learned that from Ren.

Lapis: I don't know how I feel about you guys insulting the people I grew up with, but I'm weirdly not offended. I've made piece with the ToP long ago, and I work as junior teacher for young dragonets at the present. My baby sister is very eager to "help", as well.

Ren: And... are you happy now?

Lapis: *smiles fondly* I am.

10/10. Honestly, I never want to give out 10/10, but when I think back on it, there's nothing to say about Lapis.

He's a wonderful sweetheart with a great backstory and a solid personality (that could use a bit more detail but is still fantastic). I feel a little bad about him getting slightly overshadowed by all my OCS I included, but I really, and I mean, really, need to work on character dynamics. 

(sorry 'bout that! And also, about the wait.)
