"Hey, Hon," Lucia smiled, kissing Denny's cheek. "You feel better?"

"A little bit."

"I made breakfast," Lucia nodded. "Are you hungry?"

"Thanks."

"After you eat, we have to change the dressing on the incision. If you remind me, I'll do it for you."

"I could just go to the doctor."

"For a simple thing like that?" Lucia chuckled.

"Yeah."

"Denny, you really don't have to. It's a simple thing. I can do it in two minutes."

"You sure?"

"Hon, there's no need to go to the doctor. I've got it," Lucia assured.

Denny nodded.

"Now, what would you like to eat?"

"Eggs and toast?"

"Perfect," Lucia smiled, handing him a plate, "because that's exactly what I made."

"Oh, thank you."

"So," Lucia sighed, sitting down next to him at the counter, "what's the game plan for today?"

"I don't know. I'm sick of my house."

"Well, I'll make you a deal. If you can go the entire day without hurting yourself, I'll take you out to breakfast tomorrow morning. Sound good?"

"Really? Deal."

Lucia smirked. "Just letting you know, I have very little faith in you. Ya don't have the best track record."

Denny huffed. "What a friend."

Lucia chuckled and kissed his forehead. "I'm kidding, Hon."

Denny gave her a look of skepticism.

"I was. In all seriousness, you do have to start being careful. You won't heal properly if you keep hurting yourself."

"I don't try to get hurt."

"I know, Hon."

Denny pouted. "And yet, no sympathy."

Lucia kissed his forehead and waited until he finished eating to take his plate. "Ready for me to change the dressing around your incision?"

"Sure." Denny took off his shirt as Lucia found the supplies.

"Can you do me a favor and lay down on the couch?"

Denny complied.

Lucia carefully pulled up the tape. "I'm not hurting you, am I?"

"A little."

"Sorry, Hon. I'm trying to be gentle. I know it's tender."

Denny nodded.

Lucia gently took off the gauze pad and inspected the incision area. "Ooh, that'll leave a nice scar," she chuckled.

Denny groaned. "Aw, man."

"I'm kidding. It'll heal up nicely," Lucia nodded, trying not to press too hard as she held a new dressing to his abdomen.

Denny rolled his eyes and was quiet while she finished up.

"There we go," Lucia smiled. "I'm just going to wash my hands." She quickly went to the kitchen. "So, I'm thinking we could watch a bunch of movies today. What do you think?"

"Okay. Then I won't hurt myself."

"Perfect," Lucia chuckled.

Denny smiled and stretched out.

"Now, move over," Lucia laughed. "What are we watching? To All the Boys I've Loved Before?"

"Is that what you want?"

"Yes."

Denny chuckled. "Better get it in now. When you marry Sean, he might not watch it with you."

"Well, then I guess I'll just have to come watch it with you," Lucia smiled, sitting down and turning on the movie.

Denny nodded. "Lucia? You happy that Sean loves you?"

"Very," Lucia grinned.

"You going to move to Montana?" Denny asked sadly.

"Not a chance."

"No?"

"Never." Lucia kissed his cheek.

"What if he wants to?"

"Then he'll have to choose between me and Montana. And I think we both know what the obvious choice is."

Denny smiled lovingly at her. "You're one heck of a girl, Lucia."

"Thanks," Lucia chuckled.

Denny smiled again and picked up the remote but fumbled a bit and dropped it on his abdomen. "Ah," he winced.

"Oh, gosh, are you alright?" Lucia asked worriedly, gently taking the remote.

Denny took a deep breath, holding a hand to his side. "Mhm."

"I'll get your medication."

Denny nodded.

Lucia quickly gave him his medicine. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," Denny whimpered.

"Are you sure? Do you need me to get you something?"

"No, I'm okay," Denny sighed, resting his head on her shoulder.

"Okay...but are you just telling me that because you don't want me to know you're in pain, or are you really fine?"

"I'm fine. Really."

"Alright," Lucia sighed in relief. "Good."

Denny smiled.

"So...our deal was that you would have to not hurt yourself all day if I was going to take you out to breakfast."

"I know...I guess I lost."

"Nah. I'll take you out anyway," Lucia smiled.

"Really?"

"Yeah," Lucia nodded, kissing the top of his head. "You deserve it."

"Thanks, Lucia," Denny smiled.

"No problem, kid. I love ya."

Denny hugged her. "Love you too."

"Careful. Don't hurt yourself," Lucia chuckled, hugging him as tightly as she could without causing him pain.

Denny smiled and rested his head on her shoulder to watch the movie.

Monica knocked on Jonah's door. She heard a lot of pans clatter before it opened.

Jonah wiped his hands on his already dirty apron. "Hey!"

"Um, hi," Monica chuckled. "What happened to you?"

"I'm cooking!" Jonah grinned.

"Okay," Monica said slowly, stepping inside. "The question is, what are you cooking?"

Jonah winked. "I made mac n' cheese. Do you want to help with a salad?"

"Sure," Monica chuckled.

Jonah smiled and gave her some carrots to cut up once they entered the kitchen.

"So, how was your day?"

"Messy."

"How does one make such a mess when you're making mac n' cheese?" Monica laughed.

"I like to spread out," Jonah answered simply.

"But- but the mess," Monica sighed.

"What about it? I'll clean up."

"I just- how? How do you make this much of a mess?" Monica chuckled.

"Stop talking about the mess." Jonah rolled his eyes. "Get chopping."

Monica grabbed a knife and set to work. "So, Lucia texted me earlier. She said that Denny keeps hurting himself. Apparently, he banged into the couch yesterday while dancing."

"Oh, that poor boy."

"Mhm. She said that he cried."

"I could see that."

"Poor kid," Monica sighed.

"I feel so bad for him."

"Me too," Monica nodded. "Do we want to watch a movie tonight?"

"We can...or we could play board games."

"Ooh. I can crush you in Monopoly."

"Yeah?"

"Yeah," Monica smiled. "Is dinner ready?"

"I think so."

"Perfect," Monica smiled, getting out the plates.

Jonah nodded and dished her up some food.

"Thanks," Monica said after he handed her her plate. "So, what games are we playing tonight?"

Jonah shrugged as he ate his mac n' cheese. "Monopoly is fine."

"Perfect," Monica grinned.

"If I lose, I get a kiss."

"Deal."

"And if you lose, I get to kiss you."

"Ooh. I like it," Monica grinned.

"Win win situation," Jonah chuckled.

"Exactly," Monica laughed, sitting down at the table.

Jonah smiled and kept eating.

After they finished, they pulled out Monopoly and Monica went first. "Just to let you know, I'm really good at this game."

"Sure."

"I play a lot with Lucia. I win almost every time."

"She just might be really bad."

"No, she's actually super good," Monica nodded.

Jonah shrugged. "Not as good as me, I assure you."

"Mhm," Monica smirked. "I think you're just scared."

"I'm not scared. Remember the win win situation." Jonah winked as he divided the money.

"You play an evil game, Jonah Swinson," Monica chuckled.

Jonah chuckled with her.

Monica rolled the dice. "Yes! Chance card...I got two hundred bucks!"

"Right off the bat?" Jonah gawked.

"Yep," Monica grinned. "Your turn."

Jonah rolled and landed on a chance carb space. "Jail?"

"Yes!" Monica gloated.

"Hey!" Jonah reprimanded as he moved his piece to the jail space.

Monica rolled again. "Yeah! New property!"

—————

Three hours later.

"I won!" Monica grinned.

Jonah sighed. "Fine. I went bankrupt."

"Yay!" Monica smiled happily. "Where's my kiss?"

"Come and get it." Jonah held open his arms.

Monica wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips into his.

Jonah hummed and fell against the couch. When she broke the kiss, he whispered, "I love you."

"W-what?" Monica stammered.

Jonah paused, panic rising in his chest. "Um- um-" he stammered.

"What'd you say?"

"Um-"

"You- you what? Did you say what I think you said?"

Jonah couldn't form words.

Monica hugged him close. "I love you too."

Once Jonah's brain resumed function, he hugged her back.

Monica kissed him tenderly.

That was all he wanted. "Thank you," Jonah whispered.

"You- you're-" Monica stammered with a nervous little laugh. "I love you."

"I love you so much, Monica."

"I love you more," Monica laughed tearfully.

"Not possible."

"Just shut up and kiss me again."

Jonah smiled and kissed her gently.
