(Vale. Scorpion teleports into a lone street in a flash of hellfire. He looks around, not finding anything. A voice sounds out behind him.)

Roman: Great gag.

(Scorpion turns to face the criminal Roman Torchwick.)

Scorpion: Where is Kitana?

Roman: Didn't I kill her last time we met? Wait a minute, I never heard about this Kitana.

(Scorpion gives Roman a blank look before walking off. Seemingly annoyed at being ignored, Roman pulls his Melodic Cudgel and uses it to shoot Scorpion, who avoids the shot.)

Roman: (sarcastically) Oops! Where did that come from?

Scorpion: You will pay for that with your life!

(They fight. Scorpion has no trouble at all beating the crap out of Roman. The ninja soon knocks him down, and then decides Roman's not worth the three seconds it would take to flame-broil him and teleports away while the criminal is sitting up in a daze. Roman spots someone walking over to him and recoils in fright.)

Cinder: Hello, Roman. Looks like you could use some help. I already have a few recruits. How'd you like to join us?

Roman: Hehehehahahahahaaa!

(Gotham. Catwoman is speaking with Harley Quinn at the place where the city is merging with Ba Sing Se.)

Harley Quinn: Selina, you have returned.

Catwoman: Not for long. Kara has requested our presence. Earth is being split just as Gotham has by forces we don't yet understand. I've returned to ready the knights for war.

(Scorpion teleports right next to the rift divide. Harley Quinn and Catwoman flee the scene)

Catwoman: Who are you? What business do you have in Gotham?

Scorpion: I am Scorpion. I seek the Princess.

Catwoman: Sorry, Scorpion. You can't find what you seek here. Supergirl told me of your battle.

Scorpion: I see.

(Scorpion turns to leave.)

Catwoman: You may not roam this city at will! Even though you are an invader, I promise you if you come with me you will not be harmed.

(Scorpion throws his spear at her in response. Wonder Woman deflects it off her bracelet.)

Scorpion: You cannot harm me, but I will show you the meaning of pain!

Harley Quinn: Feeling a little pain in the head is never too much!

(They fight. Harley Quinn tries to shoot Scorpion while Catwoman wraps his neck with her whip, but Scorpion teleports and takes the two Gotham SIrens aback with all rage and soon knocks them unconscious.)

Scorpion: Hmmph. The Princess is not here.

(He teleports away to one of Central City's wrecked streets. As he looks around, Batman glides down behind him.)

Scorpion: She is near...

Batman: You need some help, stranger?

Scorpion: I'm looking for Somebody named Kitana.

Batman:  You're not from this universe. All the same I'd encourage you to get to safety. For your own wellbeing you'd better come with me.

Scorpion: Stay out of my way, or DIE!

(They fight. Scorpion has the advantage due to Batman having not been prepared to face him. He knocks Batman down, and as he struggles to his feet, Scorpion superkicks him into the distance. Behind him, Kitana walks into the middle of the road.)

Kitana: Scorpion.

Scorpion: Finally found you, Kitana.

(Then Izumi comes in, infected with rage)

Izumi: So you're my brother's supposed father!

Kitana: Izumi, what are you doing here?

Izumi: I'm here to take his life!

Kitana: The rage in your eyes... you're under the influence of Shinnokal-El!

Scorpion: Shinnokal-El?

Kitana: I'll explain this later. Deal with her!

Scorpion: With pleasure!

(They fight. Though Izumi is fueled with rage, Scorpion manages to counter her attacks and floor her for a moment. As Izumi starts to rise, he teleports behind her and manages to restrain her.)

Scorpion: What now?

(Then Aang comes in alongside his friends and enemies. Then Azula approaches her.)

Azula: This will hurt!

(Azula electrocutes Izumi, and she falls limp in Scorpion's grip.)

Azula: She is contained, for now.

Katara: What should we do now?

Aang: Should we let them help us?

Toph: Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

(Then Ozai notices something.)

Ozai: Another enemy is near. Draw him to the Netherrealm. He will be weakened in there!

(A portal opens.)

Ozai: When you have finished with your prey, meet me at Raiden's sky temple. The time has come for old rivalries to be put aside.

(At Raiden's sky temple)

Raiden: So Hanzo has a backup plan.

Sub-Zero: Let's hope it works.

Tundra/Sokka: It better.

(Then Scorpion and his team come in)

Scorpion: Here we are, Lord Raiden.

Liu Kang: Kitana.

Kitana: Hi, Liu Kang.

Tarantula: Why did you bring them here?

Raiden: I was about to ask the same thing, Izuku.

(Then Izumi wakes up)

Izumi: Izuku?

Sub-Zero: Damn it!

Kitana: Scorpion, you know what to do!

(As Izumi tries to tackle Izuku, Scorpion wraps her nech with his chains, then Tundra and Sokka combine their attacks and trap her in frozen water.)

Kitana: Now for the reason why I brought them here.

(Then she produces a magical image of a being with an "S" in his chest and a cape. His body shape is unfamiliar, but his face is the unmistakable face of Shinnok.)

Kitana: At first I thought it was Shinnok, but it is someone much more powerful... Shinnok.

Ozai: The portal Raiden disrupted did not destroy the fallen elder god - it created a monster. Shinnokal-El's energy is slowly grinding the two universes together, agitating us until we become enraged and fight. Kombat releases the rage, hastening the merging.

Liu Kang: Then Shinnokal-El must be stopped.

Ozai: Not yet. We must first eliminate his forces, but to do so will require the unthinkable.

Ty Lee: Bitter rivals must fight as one to focus the rage against our enemies.

Raiden: So it shall be; we will seek out Shinnokal-El's forces, hunt them down in pairs. Liu Kang, you must fight alongside Shang Tsung.

(Kang looks shocked at Raiden's words.)

Liu Kang: I will...do as you ask, Raiden.

Shang Tsung: This could prove interesting...

(It looks like the once bitter rivals became allies, even if for a while. What will happen next?)
