TW: Major character death, mentions of alcohol

Damien smirked as he made it to the party. And his smirk grew as he saw Remus there. Perfect. Just who he'd wanted to see there. He walked over to the Prince twin and smiled. "Hey, Remus," he smiled as he got to him, noticing he had an empty glass in his hand. Half of his job was already done.

Remus looked away from the crowd he was in and smiled. "Oh, Dee? What are you doing here? Since when are you cool enough for parties?" he asked, moving closer to Damien. He reeked of alcohol already.

Damien pushed him away slightly as he tried to hug him. "Uh... since now, apparently. I didn't know you'd be here," he said, so obviously a lie but it wasn't like Remus was sober enough to notice.

"Well, my friend, now that you're cool, let's get you some drinks!" Remus slurred, wrapping an arm around the other's shoulders.

Damien got out of the way. "Nah, I don't feel like drinking. And neither do you, let's go." He grabbed Remus' wrist and pulled him out of the bar. "You need some air," he said as he pushed the door open, feeling the rain hit his face. Well, that was fun...

"Oh! Look! God's pissing on us!" Remus grinned. Damien groaned and pulled him to the sidewalk.

He looked around as Remus continued rambling about things Damien would rather not listen to.

-

"Where was the party?" Virgil asked frantically, looking out of the window as Roman drove to the bar. After less than a second of not getting a reply, he turned to Roman. "How far are we from the party?" he asked.

Roman huffed. "Virgil, shut up, you're stressing me out. We're not far. Just let me think, okay?" Roman nearly snapped. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. "Let's park here, it's just a couple of blocks away and parking nay closer is prohibited," he said, carefully parking the car.

Virgil was fidgeting with the sleeves of the hoodie he was wearing. The moment the car slowed down, he opened the door, nearly jumping off before it came to a stop.

"Virgil!" Roman called, parking the car and chasing after him. They didn't even have an umbrella with them. So, by the time Roman caught up with Virgil, they were both completely soaked. The rain didn't let them see over two feet ahead, which made it a lot harder to see where they were going.

-

"You know, Remus... I've been thinking about something lately. I always thought Roman was the key. The one that kept this together. That kept us all together... but I was overlooking something. There's something holding Roman together as well. Think about it... if something were to happen to you, Roman would break. If something were to happen to me, he would break as well. Obviously, nothing will happen to me, so that only leaves one candidate." Remus frowned.

"What? Look, Dee, the joke's not funny anymore. The whole... creepy guy thing is getting weird, dude." Remus stepped away from Damien, closer to the road.

Damien looked at him and tilted his head. He smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Oh- it's not funny? That's too bad, I wanted you to laugh before dying..." he muttered.

Remus looked at him, a rare, frightened look in his eyes. "What are you talking about?" he asked shakily.

-

Roman put an arm in front of Virgil as they reached the road. "Watch out!" he said over the sound of the pouring rain. "There are cars coming-" He squinted a bit and frowned. "Is that them?" he asked.

Virgil looked over, trying to make out the two people on the opposite sidewalk. Were those their brothers? He couldn't tell. The rain didn't let him see anything. He could barely make out the headlights of a truck approaching.

The silhouette closer to them stepped closer to the road, looking at the other, stepping on the edge and falling backward and unable to react before the truck hit him and ran over him.

A scream tore from Roman's lungs as he watched, who was now unmistakably his brother, get run over by a truck that seemed so much bigger than it really was. And then, it just fled, not stopping to check on the teenager it had just run over.

His legs didn't respond as he looked straight forward at who had been with Remus on the sidewalk.

Damien.

He couldn't hear Virgil on the verge of tears yell at him to react. To do something. He could only look at Damien, who looked down at Remus' body for the longest three seconds of Roman's life. He couldn't believe anything of what he was seeing.

After those three seconds, Roman rushed over, not caring about the vehicles driving over.

"Roman, watch out!" Virgil shouted, rushing over and pushing Roman out of the way as a car rushed past them. He held Roman down onto the sidewalk, keeping his gaze down.

A broken sob left Roman's lips after a few seconds of silence and Damien seemed to change completely before collapsing.
