"Roman Prince, open the fucking door!" Virgil shouted, banging on the door. He was soaked. It'd started pouring out of nowhere and fire trucks headed to the park near Remy's house. He was worried. And he wasn't going to keep those worries to himself. Roman needed to know. He wasn't going to tell everyone and not tell Roman that his cousin was in danger... hopefully just that.

"Go away, Virgil! I'm busy!" Roman shouted from his bedroom window. "It's raining! Go home and leave me alone!"

"Whatever it is can fucking wait! Get your ass here, Damien hasn't come home yet!" He noticed a slight frown of concern on Roman's face. "There was a fire. Remy isn't responding my texts..." he said.

"He'll be fine. Probably at the park. He barely checks his phone when he's there," he said, turning to leave.

Virgil bit his lip, clenching his fists. "That's where the fire was," he said, seeing Roman freeze before leaving his sight. Just a few moments later, the front door was unlocked. "He won't be. He knows. It's Remy. He can't keep quiet when he's worried or scared!"

Roman frowned. "What... what are you implying? Damien was fine this morning in school. He was /Damien/." Virgil shook his head lightly. "He- he was! It was him! I know who I'm in love with, okay?!"

"If what you're saying is true-" Virgil started, only to be interrupted by Roman.

"He was! I- I was beaten up by... something that wasn't there. And no one else has died in that school. We talked and... it was him. I know it was."

"Roman... that's not a good sign. If he was freed for a bit and J.D returned... that means J.D knows something we don't..." he trailed off. "It means Damien most likely won't survive this."

"What?!" Roman nearly shouted, making Virgil flinch. "No... he can't die! J.D wouldn't let him...! Right?" he frowned, looking at him.

Virgil bit his lip and looked down for a moment. "I think that's exactly what he's aiming for, really. He wants to be free. He can't if Damien keeps fighting back." Roman tensed up. "He has been fighting since the night we decided to fuck around with a board. It's been too long. If he's there... it won't be for long."

Roman's frown deepened. He didn't say anything. His mind was racing. He'd been an asshole, sure. But he was not going to lose him. He believed he'd found the love of his life and he wasn't going to let him go. Not again. Not forever. He grabbed a hoodie that hung by the door and the car keys before walking out.

Virgil frowned, stepping back as Roman pushed past him. "What- where are you going?!" he asked, chasing after him. "It's late, where are you going? You're not going to- okay."

"I'm going to find him," Roman said at the same time as Virgil spoke. "He needs me!"

Virgil frowned, grabbing Roman's wrist and forcing him to stop. "What you're doing is going to die! Are you crazy?! You can't just go after him until we know what's really going on." He bit his lip. "You said you wanted nothing to do with him until he was back. He's not. So, stay away from him."

Roman frowned. "You just said he may die!" he shouted, snatching his arm out of Virgil's grasp and left to his car.

Virgil sighed, running a hand through his hair and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He watched as Roman got in his car and quickly drove away, clearly past the speed limit. He was going to get himself killed and he could do nothing to stop it.

Unless...

It was late. Maybe he was back home. Maybe he had a chance to keep Roman safe. Roman and Logan and Emile. Even if it meant he had to be alone with Damien.

With that thought, he took off, running back home. He never prayed, but he did now. He prayed that he was wrong. That Damien was home and he was his brother. That Damien wasn't gone. That they still had a chance to get him back.

With those prayers in his head, he opened the front door to his house and raised his gaze from the ground. He let out a sigh of relief. Damien was standing at the top of the stairs. Thank God.

But...

Something was wrong. His eyes... brown. His eyes were brown.
