Jack looked over as the smoke seemed to clear over at the rubble that the explosion made, relieved to see that Artemis was out of harm's way. Though she seemed to look distraught..heavy on the dis. She was looking around frantically. Was she looking for him? Jack counted his lucky stars that she did not see him change. He liked her friendship, and something told him that being a villain was going to be a deal breaker. His smile fell slightly at the thought of that, something Joker seemed to notice.

"It looks like you just heard a bad joke, It is putting a damper on the mood!" Joker scolded him, smacking Jack upside the head. "Appearance is important my boy! You are ruining this!"

Jack quickly snapped out of his thoughts, his smile just as fast returning. "Sorry pops." He grabbed the net launcher from Harley. "Let me make it up to you with a party gift!" He aimed and fired, quickly going through the crowd to claim his prize. "Hiding in a crowd is not very gentleman like Mr. Wayne~" He said in a sing song voice, dragging the billionaire's body back to his father. "See? It's a good gift right?" His response was another smack, this time right across his face.

"Foolish child!" Joker growled. "You are ruining the show! Where is the drama? The complexity the cunningness!? This is not good showmanship!"

Jack winced and rubbed his face, struggling to keep his smile on his face. He had gotten Joker mad at him again...He just wanted him to be happy. Where did he go wrong-- Jack heard something whiz past him. He quickly turned his head to see an arrow imbedded into the wall. Confused, Jack turned his head to see a young woman clad in green and a teen who was dressed obnoxiously in yellow and red.(haha that rhymed, good job jack) He had never seen them before...were they new heroes of gotham? They definitely were not Batman. The yellow one sped over, quickly knocking Jack off his feet to his surprise. He hit the ground with a thud, groaning in pain. That's when the next explosion hit, rattling the building. He looked up to see once again that he was abandoned by both Joker and Harley. It looks like they did not expect Bruce Wayne to have body guards, still...they would never run from...from children! Jack stood up again glaring at the teens and then once again at the captured Bruce wayne. It must be a test..that was the only concluseion Jack could come up with. He was going to get Bruce Wayne to his father no matter what and pass his Father's test. "Way to spoil the fun Wayne." Jack spat, slowly regaining to his feet, glaring at the teens. " Making me look bad in front of them...Making me look stupid.." Jack let out a laugh, though it was twisted and eerie, the sound bouncing off the walls as both hero and hostage alike froze in fear. Jack pulled out his throwing knives, eyes focused on the archer in green. "You HAD to interfere...now I am going to have to regain my father's respect after that..."

The one in yellow spoke up. "Dude, Joker's your father? Talk about a messed up family." Jack changed his target, throwing the knife at the speedster, who let out a yelp of surprise. "Hey! I'm just saying! The guy hit you and treats you like you are a henchman not a son."

Dick grabbed the ropes of the netting that held bruce wayne, who was oddly silent this whole time. Like he knew that his father would try to snatch him up, that he would flee when reinforcements arrived..like he knew that Jack would be here. Jack's scowl increased, no longer trying to keep up the smile his father wanted him to wear. Joker was not here, he did not have to play pretend to be the perfect insane son. No, he was going to finish what his father could not. That would make him happy, wouldn't it? Jack knelt down and pulled out a knife, cutting the net open. To the heroes it might look like he was setting him free, giving up...but that was not the case. Jack grabbed Bruce Wayne by the collar and held the blade close to his throat. Was killing Bruce Wayne his test? Did joker not think he could do it? A sharp pain interrupted his train of thought and he felt something warm trick down his shoulder. In his brief moment of shock, he also felt the absence of Bruce Wayne his grip. He looked down to see an arrow embedded into his shoulder.

"I missed the important stuff, but think I will a second time" The archer warned, her bow held steady with a notched arrow pointing right at Jack.

"Yeah dude, just give up!" The one in yellow called out, Bruce Wayne behind him.

Jack was not an idiot. He was outnumbered, out powered, out one hostage, out of plans. He needed to escape..he was no use to his father dead or in prison... But then it hit him.. He had a hostage! Himself. Jack let out a coy smile, resting a hand on his hip. "It looks like you are forgetting something..or rather someone." Most of the hostages left running out of the building after the second explosion, however the heroes did not know if he had a second hostage or not..they couldn't there was too much chaos to keep track of everyone. "Did you ever suspect that my parents ran away with NO ONE? " he hummed. "We have a hostage, a sweet innocent hostage."

"You're lying!" The archer called out. "No one was grabbed."

Jack smiled, his bluff seeming to linger in the room as uncertainty seemed to increase between the two teens, the archer especially."Some kid just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.If you rounded them all up, you would see that one was missing. Oh and he was such a great dancer. Didn't you see him? It was like he was walking on air." Jack hummed, though was surprised at how the realization affected the archer..it almost looked like..horror. Did these hero's not deal with hostages before? A kid as a hostage was not so uncommon was it? "That's right," he continued. "And if you do not let me go now... You will never see him again. Oh how worried his family must be." He mocked concern. He watched the bow lower, his smirk widening.

"How do we know you will let him go?" The one in green question, her usual energy muted down to a look of almost desperation.

"Simple. Give me an hour head start." Jack grinned.
