Heyho kiddos!!!

so yeah.... I decided to draw some of my ocs again, that show up in "defiance" ^-^
.... probably should finally continue writing the novels though..... kinda fell behind on that dksjghfk

all things aside though, maybe you remember deluech and dawen from last year....

yeah... really abandoned my kiddos more or less... i mean... i sketched dawen now and then, and designed her some clothing and stuff, but deluech? nah, i kinda forgot about her.

so to make up for that, i decided to draw my girl again, in an attempt to finally get her to look like i wanted her to.

essentially deluech is an overly ambitious, optimistic gal. she likes sculpting, jogging and climbing, as well as gardening.
like feredir, tirith and cevrond, she was born in näydh'äclah, the capitol of gardia. and she was also born with partially ancient magical genetics, giving her an eye of the ancients and making her extremely important for the priests.
she more or less grew up with the priests, and after some time, maethdess as well. the two girls with magical floating eyes, rather quickly became friends, since both were similarily outcast.

but then... well... after some time, the priests falsely discovered, that maethdess had ancient genetics of inthys (the patron goddess of the continent, and also divine ruler), making dessie a lot more important than our dear lulu.... so deluech was simply kicked out and abandoned.

the population was confused. the reason why deluech was kicked out, weren't made public, so everyone feared that something might be very wrong with her. people didn't see the pinnacle of beauty and importance in her anymore, but rather shunned her, scared of what the priests might do to them or their families, if they got too involved with deluech.

and so, she suddenly turned from being a holy person, with divine blood and deserving of utmost respect, to... an abandoned and lost nobody. this messed with her mental health quite a lot, and turned her internal pain into rage.
lulu got into quite some trouble, ending up in her getting half her face nearly burnt off. and now, that she lost every source of respect or compassion from the other people in the city, she decided to leave the continent.

in ikor'esk, she now had a fresh start, and became part of the scarlet rebellion, quickly becoming head of the organization and turning the whole thing into a threat to be reckoned with. all, whilst keeping her one and only goal in mind: vengeance.
she wanted that the people payed for "replacing" her with maethdess. she wanted them to feel, what it was like, when they abandoned and punished someone innocent, that they had praised for hundreds of years beforehand. she wanted revenge, for those years of pain and suffering, and the rebellion was her ticket to see the forests of gardia burn, like they had burned her beauty and identity beforehand.

now... the most interesting thing is, when feredir, tirith and maethdess now join the scarlet rebellion as well (which now was called the "azure rebellion")... and deluech was furious. so she tried her very best to make the time there a living hell for dessie.

on the other hand, whilst trying to let her anger out on dessie, she got to know twins as well. and after not too long, she and feredir became really good friends... which was a stab in the friendship that feredir and maethdess had to that point.
feredir climbed the ranks and got to know lulu better, as well as meeting her friends, companions and sponsors, until... well.... she confessed his love for him.
the two became a couple, causing feredirs relationship to both maethdess and tirith to slowly crumble away. all in all, lulu was convinced, that tirith and dessie had bad intentions, so she did her best to warn feredir of potential dangers.

which turned out to be a truly heartbreaking moment, when the last person that she had learnt to trust and love, decided to turn on her as well, betraying the rebellion, and then returning to tirith and maethdess.
she was hurt after that... not only had she for once experienced love for once, she also was betrayed by it, and it took everything she had away from her, yet again...

yeah...

so that's more or less the whole idea behind deluech. she is supposed to represent, how the east can destroy a person from the inside out, mutating them into a different person. she is the product of pain and misery, only learning, that the best was to deal with that, is to cause pain and misery herself.

her design, is more or less pretty average. she's a theoretically very pretty girl, has messy, short hair, piercing and glowing tattoos, making her look more or less just like another noble person on mesoria, if it weren't for her burnt half of the face, that looks rather horrifying and scary.

so after i drew lulu again, i just... felt the urge to FINALLY draw feredir and tirith together. i swear... up until now, i was only able to draw feredir and tirith always looked weird af. i also attempted to draw a picture of the two together for wayyyy too long now, and always failed.

and that's probably the main reason, that i like this picture so much, because i finally drew tirith the way i imagined him to look, and also got feredir in the same picture :DD

when starting with the drawing, i wanted the two to look intimate and really close. as they are twins and have had only each other for most of their lives, the bond that resulted out of that is one of the strongest between any of my OCs. so yeah.... desperately wanted that brotherly love in there, that reaches far further than just friendship.

i also, wanted to show their contrasting personalities. with tirith being the optimistic, hard working, extroverted and down-to-earth counterpart, to feredirs depressed, sleep deprived, introverted and dreamy personality. in the expressions that would mean, that feredir has a tired, yet soft smile, whilst tirith is just the happy little bean he is ^-^

also wanted to get the difference of their professions in here, making feredir wear his fancy clothing, with patterns and a lot of accessories, whilst tirith is in his dirty work-clothes, smudging dust and grime onto his brother.

now the colours are crucial here. since they are twins, the palettes are extremely similar, leaving only the way they express themselves through hair, piercings, tattoos and clothing to add some different colours to the palette.

in this case, both of them have a brown-green palette, feredir leaning more into the darker and more saturated colours, whilst tirith is more extreme with pastel colours, dyed hair, lots of piercings and his bloodhound-workclothing also adding some red in there.
making them look pretty similar still, yet with different vibes personalities to them.

the shading was pretty clear for me from the start. since i liked deluech so much, i wanted to mimic the lighting and shading i used there. the only real difference here was, that i made the whole thing a bit brighter and warmer toned, to have a more wholesome feel to it, rather than the more generic lighting in deluechs picture.

yeah! that's all i got here. essentially i just discovered how much better my stuff looks, with two layers of shadows, and figured out a way to draw fem characters ^-^

i definetely had a ton of fun with these. at some point the one with crook and stutts got a bit tedious, but... that's just how it is sometimes. in the end, i am extremely happy with the way they all turned out and am hella motivated to draw more of my defiance kiddos :D
