So... before we get into the chapter, here's a small update or whatever on the drawing from the last chapter, since I was stupid enough to forget the pattern on his scarf... anyways, here's the fixed version that I thought you guys might wanna see ^-^

I... uh....

.... um... I'm an idiot....

Very much an idiot.

And if you say otherwise, then I am very proud of you for having that amount of faith in me, even though I know that this chapter might prove you otherwise ^-^"

Okay, so why am I an idiot? Well, read the title. Read it carefully. What does it say at the beginning? "Request" that's right. A request from whom now? Eule_Moriarty

And when did I get the request? .......

Yeah. So... um... hi Moritarty! Remember me? Remember not only my crappy art back then, but also that you wanted me to draw your baby Fuchstänzer?

So... after trying and failing several times I managed to draw a picture of him, without accidentally deleting everything, and even finished it. BOOM.  Anyways, I only had what I got out of the book he's in and the following descriptive points to work with, which was hella fun and definetely something really different.

So here's what I got about him:
- 17 years old
- a foster-son of a wealthy woman

- slender, pointy face with a straight nose
- very fair and light teint
- narrow eyes, brown-green irises and long eyelashes
- slighly curved eyebrows in a dark ginger colour
- orange hair with a lot of differently coloured strands (everything natural though), at the time about half-ish long, stylishly messy-ish

- cares about his appearance a lot
- very arrogant and looks like it (thinks that he's better than everyone around him)
- the kind of douchebag that all the girls like, for unexplainable reasons, but hey... you don't complain because you like him too

To be honest, I love his character a lot. And no, that's not only because he has red hair and I have the really weird issue that I like almost every chatacter with red hair... okay, maybe that does play a part in it, but I love his character otherwise a lot anyways.

So... what was my plan of attack? I wanted to draw him half-body, looking neat, tidy and slightly mocking, yet charmant.
I started with a rough pose, already knowing the vibe I was going for, that turned out to be a more challenging quest than I initially presumed it to be. I in the end decided on a pose, where he stands relatively straight, arms folded up behind him.

Did I feel guilty for not drawing hands? Yes... but you guys know that I didn't "hide" the hands because I can't draw them, so just keep that in mind and have mercy >w<

I then continued with the sketch on top. The face was less of a struggle than I thought it would be. To portray the longer eyelashes I made the upper eyelid thicker than usual, since my eyes are probably one of the most stylised elements in my drawings.

Something that was difficult though, was to portray his age correctly. I overall attempted to make his features overall a bit softer, but they looked weird that way, so I just went with the flow. He doesn't look all that old, but indeed older than initially attempted.

The by far most difficult thing, was his clothing. Simply, since I didn't know what he would wear. I ended up going with a simple white blouse and any old pair of fancy trousers and a belt. I kept the clothing rather simple, since I didn't want to push it all that far, which is a decision that I do indeed regret in retrospect.

I also could've just asked Moriarty or read through the book again, but.... the first option was too awkward and the second one.... I'm lazy and I actually wanted to be sleeping at that time already, so... yeah. (shame on me)²

I then added the colours. The hair and eyes probably were the easiest part, whilst I struggled with the skin and blouse a lot. I decided to make him really pale, which sucked, since I rarely draw really pale characters >w<
I ended up giving his blouse and skin the same colour, with the blouse having more of a yellow-shift in hue and the skin more of a red-shift. I decided that blush and shading would save my ass in that situation ^-^"

I then went and shaded the thing. I actually wanted to stay away from my freckle-brush since he wasn't described to have any of those, but his face just looked so unreal and flat, that I gave in and added them for some texture... (shame on me)³

The hair was... oh boy, that was FUN. I love drawing red hair... I love it so much. It just fills my heart with absolutely irrational and unreasonable joy... and his were fun, since I was allowed to make them look multicoloured. I do indeed think that I could've pushed the different red-tones in his hair a bit more, but overall I must admit that the hair is probably my favourite part of the entire drawing, next to those eyes.

Again, I leaned into my "2 shading layers and 1 highlight layer" rendering, since that proved to be effective yet fast when it comes to less detailes pieces.

So that's that! I hope, even though you've waited over a year for this, that you still like it Moriarty, and I do indeed apologize a gazillion times for letting you hang in there for so long.

And whilst we're on the topic of requests, I am planning on finishing all the requests, collabs and challenge pictures I have promised to people 'till the end of february, before I will be taking new requests, art trades or even commissions (depending on how I'm doing by the end of february >w<"). So if I still owe you a drawing, it will indeed come along sometime during this time, when school doesn't decide to randomly take over my entire life again.
