A storm was brewing ahead. Even though the sky was mostly clear, Jayfeather could smell it in the air.

It had been 2 moons since he last saw his kit, Holly Leaf. The Tribe had just stopped grieving over the loss. By now, Jayfeather was used to loneliness. Lion Blaze barely even spared him a glance. Jay's Flight was always busy foraging for herbs or preparing polutices. He was extremely skilled and was capable of doing things on his own after 4 moons. He ignored him whenever he passed by as well. Fire Star was always busy training with Lion Blaze, trying to get better at fighting. Both of them seemed to still be racked with guilt after being unable to save Holly Leaf.

And Half Moon was his only family that would actually pay attention to Jayfeather. She talked to him when he was bored. She comforted him when his kits weren't there.

Maybe if I stayed behind, Half Moon would be happier and the Clans would exist. Oh, StarClan. I really screwed myself up.

"There are rogues coming in right now!" Jayfeather jumped to his feet as Lion Blaze spoke.

Jayfeather watched as Wind and two other cats he didn't know padded into the camp.

"This is One-Eye and Star Flower. We are only here to talk." Wind said.

"Separate." Lion Blaze hissed.

"Lion Blaze! That's no way to talk to guests!" Jayfeather snapped. Lion Blaze whipped around and glared at Jayfeather.

"You're in no position to speak, old cat."

"You should still speak to guests with respect. Even if they're enemies." Half Moon said.

"Oh, you don't know how I feel towards them. You want to know who they are?" Lion Blaze asked, hatred burning in his eyes.

"These are the cats that killed Holly Leaf!"

"We have searched the entire forest for the whereabouts of Smokeblaze." Mistystar announced. "We haven't found a single trace. The only hint of where she could be is the forest. We found her scent very close to the old ShadowClan border, then the trail went cold. We're going to launch another search party tomorrow."

She jumped off the boulder, then padded into her den.

"I wish Dovewing was here." Tigerheart said aloud. "She would know what to do."

"Dovewing. The cat that can hear miles away, right?" Siang asked.

"She really was capable of doing that. Whether you want to believe it or not." Tigerheart snapped. "And she could probably locate Smokeblaze within a heartbeat."

"Yeah, sure." Siang rolled her eyes. "I don't believe that for a second. She might have had a good sense of hearing, but there's no such thing as cats with superpowers."

"What about Lionblaze?" Tigerheart asked defiantly. "And don't you dare tell me he just has skill. He took down a badger alone. That would've taken at least 5 cats, and we would only be able to chase it away."

Siang looked away, defeated.

"So, do you think we'll ever find her?" Lionblaze asked.

"Maybe. She might've just gotten lost." Tigerheart said.

"Yeah. Maybe." Lionblaze said uncertainly. Tigerheart narrowed his eyes.

"Lionblaze, do you know something that you aren't telling us?" He asked.

"That information is something between Mistystar and I only." Lionblaze said. "Not for you to know."

"You know something about Smokeblaze, don't you." Tigerheart said.

"No!" Lionblaze suddenly became defensive. "I know nothing!"

With that statement, he stormed away, into the warriors den.

"Well, he's in a good mood." Siang said sarcastically. "He doesn't have to be so mean."

"He's been through a lot. With Jayfeather's disappearance and Dovewing's death, he's the last of the Three who are supposed to save the Clans." Firelight said, randomly joining in on the conversation.

"How do you know?" Tigerheart asked, glaring at the new Clanmate. Firelight was unfazed by Tigerheart's hostility.

"Leafpool was my mentor for a while. She likes to speak to other cats about what she's thinking." Firelight said. "If I were you, I would rest easy. Mistystar and Lionblaze know what they're doing."

"I wouldn't say I know what-" Tigerheart cut himself off abruptly. "Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Siang asked.

There was a loud, piercing yowl that cut through the air like a knife. Then, a large cat tackled Tigerheart.

"Tigerstar?" Tigerheart's eyes widened. Tigerstar gave a menacing grin and slashed his claws down. Tigerheart blocked his attack, glaring at his uncle.

With one swift motion, Tigerheart bucked Tigerstar off his body, springing to his feet. As he looked around, he saw about 20 different cats surrounded by a dark, purplish aura. The Clan was outmatched.

Was this the end?

-

Smokeblaze watched from above helplessly, desperation making her emotions run high. She couldn't just stand around and do nothing. She tried to unlock her "secret" abilities again, but failed. She couldn't seem to find peace.

Remember Onestar... spending hours by the lake, talking about our lives. Remember the feeling of being nuzzled up in your mother's arms, covered by warm blankets and worrying about nothing.

She still didn't feel anything at all.

What good would turning back time even do? Smokeblaze asked herself. I need to get creative. Maybe if I turn back time, I can somehow reopen the portal that bought me here.

It was worth a try. Smokblaze took a deep breath, and closed her eyes. She relived every happy memory she had ever experienced. She was at peace.

With a gasp, she saw a small hole appear in the air. She jumped into the hole, giving a gasp as she took a breath of fresh air for the first time in days.

I'm never complaining about anything ever again! Anything is better than living in the dark forest, relying on the dead shrubs and herbs for food!

She heard sounds of yowls of pain and anger somewhere far away. There was no way she could get back to the Clan in time to help.

Maybe, if she slowed the time around her, she would go faster. If time slowed and she remained at her regular pace, to a normal cat she would be many times faster.

She closed her eyes, imagined the time around her turning heavier and slowing. She started running, hoping that her attempt was working. Within a minute, she was back at the Clan, hidden behind a large overgrowth of trees.

"Mistystar! Don't leave!" she heard Lionblaze yelling.

"It's too late. Mistystar was on her last life." Hawkfrost said triumphantly. Smokeblaze felt a surge of anger. She froze time around the entire camp, and leaped at Hawkfrost, her claws extended.

The moment her claws pierced through Hawkfrost's neck, time resumed.

"Smokeblaze?" Lionblaze's eyes lit up. "How are you here? How did you get back so quickly-"

Lionblaze was cut off when Tigerstar leapt at him, fury glistening in his amber eyes. The battle resumed, the cats of FallenClan more motivated than ever. Dead bodies littered the camp- Smokeblaze was too busy fighting to know whether they were of the Dark Forest or FallenClan.

Smokeblaze was busy fighting the gray cat in front of her.

"Smokeblaze, am I correct?" he asked. "You're quite skilled. I'm Thistleclaw."

"I don't care." Smokeblaze hissed, leaping at him. The tom was faster than she thought. He sidestepped and left a long gash on her hip.

Maybe it was instinct. Maybe it was adreniline. Or maybe, she was just a natural. Without even thinking, Smokeblaze rewinded the wound that Thistleclaw had left. His eyes widened in surprise.

"But you're a kittypet."

Those were his last words before Smokeblaze snapped his neck.
