Hey guys 👋🏻

Thank you for choosing to read this story

Sorry for the late update but I was traveling back home this morning, so it wasn't possible for me to update before.

Also, I'll be updating my tribute book in a few days, so MSDians be sure to keep a lookout for that one.

The above song is 'Bandeya Rey Bandeya' from the movie 'Simmba'

So Siya is very angry with her brother and he's getting the silent treatment.

Hopefully this brother sister duo will work everything out soon.

~~~~~~~
CSK had started off their IPL campaign on a positive note, with a win against their arch rivals MI (Mumbai Indians).
Unfortunately, the next three matches ended with heart break for CSK, who lost three matches in a row.
CSK won a few matches in the middle but mostly ended on the losing side, which lead to the team and the players being constantly trolled online.
But no one had expected the online trolls to take a disgusting form and come to haunt the Dhoni family.
(I don't think I really need to describe this nightmare for anyone here)
~~~~~~~

Shubman tried talking to Siya a few days after CSK's third loss in a row.

Siya patiently listened to her best friend, as he explained that even if she was angry with her brother, she needed to talk to him now because Mahi really needed his family's support to deal with all the online trolls.

Things were slowly getting out of hand because CSK was unable to win matches and fans were extremely disappointed.

Shubman knew that she was already in UAE because the dates for the Women's T20 Challenge were coinciding with the IPL Playoffs.

Siya was debating whether or not to give her brother a call, when she heard about the rape threats given to her beloved niece.

She called Shubman to inform him about meeting her brother and immediately left for the CSK hotel.

Smriti was very understanding about the situation and spoke to the team management about letting their youngest player spend some time with her family.

Shubman met Siya right outside the CSK team hotel, after getting permission from his captain and went in with her to meet the rest of the Dhoni family.

Jaddu finds them near the reception and offers to take them to the captain's room.

Siya asks about her brother to know how he was, but Jaddu didn't have much idea because the man was an expert at hiding his emotions in public.

Jaddu tells them that they were having a team meeting when Sakshi Bhabhi had come running in the room to inform them about the incident.

Mahi had immediately gone to his room, without saying a word to anyone and stayed there, after refusing to join the team for dinner.

Sakshi had started filing an official complaint against the offenders, before following her husband and telling the boys to not worry about their Mahi Bhai.

Jaddu leaves the two kids outside his captain's room to join his teammates, who were also quite disturbed by recent incidents.

~~~~~~~
Shubman tries his best to console his worried best friend, before urging her to open the door and meet her brother.
Siya takes a deep breath and opens the door to find her brother sitting on the bed, holding his daughter very close to his chest.
(Imagine a similar scene)
Sakshi was on the balcony talking to someone on the phone and she was looking extremely angry so Shubman went to talk to her, leaving the Dhoni siblings alone.
Siya hesitantly calls out, "Bhaiya?"
Mahi hears the voice he's been desperate to hear for weeks and looks up to find his sister standing near the bed.
Siya noticed that her brother was looking at her with teary eyes, that for once he hadn't even bothered to hide.
Never had she seen her brother look so vulnerable in front of anyone, let alone her.
Siya immediately ran to hug him, forgetting all her anger and did her best to console her brother.
Mahi's voice cracks a little as he says, "Why is this happening to my baby? She's just five and someone wrote all those disgusting things about her. What is her fault?"
Siya replies, "Bhaiya, you don't worry about Ziva. We will keep her safe and Bhabhi will take care of all the legal work to punish all those who are responsible."
Mahi softly says, "I am such a bad father na. I wasn't there when my baby was born and now, I can't even protect my daughter from all this. Sakshi and you also get dragged in whenever I don't do well on the field. If I can't even keep my own family safe, then do I even deserve your love?"
(This was probably one of the worst things that happened that year)
Siya immediately shakes her head and replies, "No Bhaiya, you are the best father and that's why Ziva loves you the most. It's not your fault that so many horrible people live in our country. You always advise people to ignore all forms of online trolling. What do those people know about you? They have no idea about how hard you work to maintain your fitness levels. This is just a bad phase and I promise that it will pass. We all are here with you, so don't worry about those faceless trollers."
Mahi nervously asks, "Do you really think that I'm a good father?"
Siya nods and replies, "I said na that you are the best. I didn't have a good father when I was growing up, so I didn't understand what father's love really is. From the time that I have been living with you, I have learnt what unconditional love really means. I know what it is like to have people genuinely worried about my well-being. You have supported me like a big brother, but you always loved me unconditionally like a father. I didn't understand this before, but now I do and I'm so grateful to have you in my life. Meeting you was the best thing that could ever happen in my life."
Mahi smiles with teary eyes, before leaning his head on his little sister's shoulder.
Siya feels happy after seeing the positive impact her words had on her older brother.
~~~~~~~

Meanwhile Shubman brought Sakshi up to date with the progress he made with Siya regarding her argument with her brother.

Sakshi says, "Thank you so much for knocking some sense into her. I really hope they talk it out and go back to being their annoying selves."

Shubman asks, "Shouldn't you be happy about them not troubling you?"

Sakshi replies, "Trust me it's been a good break because I didn't have to handle three kids at the same time. But Mahi has been so miserable and even though Siya didn't say it, I knew that she wasn't happy either. They both are so dependent on each other that if they have to stay away for a longer period of time, it dampens their mood. That's why I forced Mahi to get her a phone so that they can both talk to each other because he never misses her call. Ziva also prefers to use her Bui's phone because Mahi will never ignore a call from his sister's phone."

Shubman asks, "Don't you feel annoyed by all this?"

Sakshi shakes her head, smiling and replies, "I know them both well enough, plus I have spent enough time around them. I'm so used to it now that if something like this doesn't happen, I start getting worried. Don't worry though, you'll also get used to the craziness soon enough."

Shubman says, "That's exactly what I'm worried about. I would like to protect my sanity for as long as possible."

Sakshi replies, "Unfortunately you won't be able to keep your sanity for too long. Siya will be a permanent figure in your life, plus you're got Mahi and Cheeku to deal with as well. Enjoy your sanity while it lasts."

Shubman simply chuckles before offering to help Sakshi take action against the disgusting people who had threatened to rape her five year old daughter.

After the formalities are done, Sakshi says, "We should go inside now. I just hope they will sort out their differences by tomorrow."

Shubman nods and they both enter the room to find Mahi sleeping on the bed, holding his sister and his daughter close to himself.

Sakshi opens up the sofa cum bed for herself to sleep on, while Shubman gets on her husband's mattress to rest up for the next day.

~~~~~~~
The next day Sakshi announces that she would be taking Ziva with her for a walk, to help the brother sister duo sort out all their differences in private.
They both had tried to protest against the decision, but Sakshi sternly says, "I will not hear a word from you both. I promise that I will be with someone from the team at all times, but you both have to sort your problems out today. You both need to have a long overdue talk and you're doing to right now. Shub is here to keep an eye on you two, so don't think you can avoid this."
Mahi and Siya agree having no other option, but after Sakshi leaves they both have no clue about where to start.
Shubman takes pity on them and tries to help them out as he says, "How about we start with the topic of Bhaiya's retirement? Bhaiya, you start by explaining why you took that decision and then Siya will explain why she has been mad at you."
Mahi nods and starts, "Gudiya, I know that you think that I can play for a few more years and I agree that I have it in me to play more, but I don't think I can give my best performance for my country. You know how I've been feeling since the match against New Zealand last year and I don't think I can go through that again. It's been really tough for me to deal with such heart breaking losses repeatedly and now I just want to play for fun now. I agree that IPL is also stressful, but here the losses don't affect me as much. When we lose in ICC events it hurts me more because I feel that I have let my country and my team down. I can't keep playing forever and now seemed like a good time to stop playing international cricket, so that the youngsters can get a chance to work on their skills and take the team forward."
Siya nods, understanding all the points put forward by her brother and replies, "Okay I understand all of that and I support your decision as well. I want to know why you didn't tell me before like you did when you retired from tests."
Mahi says, "I didn't want you or Cheeku to try and change my mind about this decision. If you both would have worked together, then I knew that I would have listened to you eventually. I was trying to avoid that situation and that's why I didn't tell you."
Siya replies, "I was not happy with your decision, but I still would have supported you. I didn't like the way you left captaincy without warning us and then you went on to do the same thing when you retired. I understood that you had your reasons to retire and I would have been okay with them, if you had just informed me before. The fact that you didn't find it necessary to tell me about such an important decision of your life hurt me more than anything. You let me find out with the rest of the world and it made me feel like I don't matter to you or that I'm not important enough to know about important decisions of your life."
Mahi immediately hugs his sister and says, "I'm so sorry Gudiya. I didn't mean for you to feel this way. I promise that I will never keep you out of the loop ever again. I just want you to support me in all my decisions no matter what."
Siya replies, "I will always support you because I know that you take decisions after giving everything a lot of thought. I just didn't like the feeling of not being important to you. You're one of the most important people of my life and I like that it normally goes both ways."
Mahi pulls aways, kissing his sister's forehead lovingly and says, "You are also one of the most important people of my life and don't you ever think otherwise. Now can I please have my little chatterbox back because I've really missed her."
Siya chuckles, while Shubman replies, "Well I for one am glad that you both have finally sorted things out. You both have been driving me and Bhabhi insane for way too long now. Now you guys catch up because I need to get back to my teammates, so I'll see you guys later."
Mahi and Siya thank Shubman for putting up with them and helping them sort their issues, before Siya goes to see her best friend off at the reception.
A few minutes later, Sakshi returns with her daughter and is bombarded with hugs as a thanks for dealing with the Dhoni siblings.
Ziva enjoys playing with both her father and her aunt after a long time.
~~~~~~~

Mahi played the last match of the nightmare of an IPL season and immediately got busy in helping his sister train for her upcoming tournament.

Siya's matches were due to start in a few days, so she attended all the practice sessions with her team, before staying back and working out with her brother for some time.

Mahi happily cheered for his sister, as she played in the tournament for the first time.

Trailblazers won the tournament after beating the defending champions Supernovas, led by Harman.

(One of the main highlights for me was Jhulan's happy face after her team won.)

Mahi was the happiest person to see his little sister's team win the tournament.

Siya and Mahi return back to India and start working for the domestic season that was due to start in a few months.

Mahi helps her work on her game and gives her tips on how to remain calm irrespective of how her team performs in a particular match.

Siya even manages to singlehandedly lead her state team to the finals in the 2020-21 domestic season.

All the players on the team try their best, but their efforts are not enough as they go down to Railways in the finals.

~~~~~~~
The next IPL season comes along and it is held in India again with CSK dominating for the first half of the tournament.
When cricket experts didn't expect the most consistent team to make it in the top three of the points table because of their performance the previous year, CSK proved them all wrong by staying on the top for most part of the season.
Since there were no home games, CSK played most of their matches in Mumbai.
Halfway through the tournament due to the increase in COVID cases, IPL matches were postponed indefinitely.
Mahi stayed at the team hotel until all his players had departed safely for their homes, before leaving for Ranchi himself.
After a few months, the IPL matches were shifted to UAE, where CSK faced MI in their very first match.
CSK continued their excellent form and went on to become the first team to qualify for the playoffs after beating SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad).
By the end of the league stage matches, CSK was second on the points table, just behind DC (Delhi Capitals).
CSK and DC face off in the Qualifier 1, where Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa prove the perfect start to CSK in the chase, while Dhoni provides the necessary fireworks at the end to take his team to their 9th IPL final.
In the finals they face KKR, who had fought their way to make it to the Playoffs in the second leg of the IPL.
CSK defeated KKR with an all-around performance to win the IPL for the fourth time, despite the strong fight put up by the young guns of KKR.
Mahi enjoys with his family on the field once the first round of celebrations kick off.
The families make their way to the hotel before the players and stand near the entrance to welcome the Chennai Boys with a celebratory cake.
The team gets a grand welcome as they enter the hotel and the celebrations go on all night long.
~~~~~~~

Many people had noticed Siya cheering for KKR, or rather for Shubman Gill, during their matches in the UAE leg of the 2021 IPL season, except for the final for obvious reasons.

This leads to a lot of rumours circulating about Siya dating Shubman, but both of them ignore these rumours and concentrate on honing their skills.

Shubman had even been spotted many times in Ranchi because he enjoyed training with his best friend at the JSCA stadium.

During their time off, both of them trained together in order to learn fromeach other and work on perfecting their skills.

So what do you guys think about this chapter?

PS: Remember that I have mentioned a few true incidents but mostly it's a work of fiction.
