Things seem to be going pretty well for the Dhoni family.

What will happen if some dark clouds threaten their happiness?

~~~~~~~
India had a fantastic World Cup campaign until the semi-final match against Australia, where they remain undefeated in the league stage.
Everyone was feeling down and the only thought that brought them some happiness was that they would get to meet little Ziva soon.
Mahi meets his daughter almost two months after her birth and is left spellbound as he watches her continuously make noises while looking at him.
Sakshi complains about Ziva loving her father more because their baby girl hadn't interacted like that with anyone before her husband.
Siya sneakily clicked pictures and recorded the moment where her brother was meeting his daughter for the first time.
(Imagine them to be looking like this when they meet for the first time. Unfortunately, I didn't have a reference for this special moment,)
Mahi was feeling overwhelmed with lots of emotions after seeing his daughter for the first time and he could not describe the feeling in words.
Siya jokingly asks, "Ho gaya na aapko bhi 'Love at First Sight' Bhaiya?" (You've fallen in loveat first sight right Bhaiya?)
Mahi couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing the question, before he pulls his sister close, wanting to keep both his girls close to him.
Siya might not be his daughter, but she was the reason he started believing that he could be a good father to his own kid.
Sonu also gets married to his fiancée Priyanka with the entire Dhoni family attending his wedding, including little Ziva.
~~~~~~~

Mahi travels with his little family for all of his IPL matches, with his cheerleader being spotted dancing again by the cameramen.

(A little something for you guys to enjoy, if you haven't already watched it)

Ziva is also spotted many times by the media, mostly in the arms of her father unless he was busy on the field.

(A digital drawing made by me of Ziva's stadium debut)

At the end of the IPL, CSK and RR (Rajasthan Royals) are banned for two years due to illegal activities by the team owners.

The entire CSK family was hurt because of this news but they decided to stay strong and go through these two years with a smile on their face.

Two temporary teams are to be formed for the next two years, named as Rising Pune Supergiants (aka RPS) and Gujarat Lions (aka GL) with players from both the banned teams.

Mahi and Sonu are forced to play from different teams and that to as captains for their respective sides.

RPS had a disaster of a season in 2016, where they finished second last.

(The most difficult thing for CSK fans to watch)

The owners decide to sack MS Dhoni from captaincy for the next IPL and replace him with Steve Smith as the new captain of the franchise.

MS didn't really care about being sacked as captain and continued to do what he did best to help his team win matches.

After a few matches one of the owners went to the extent of insulting MS multiple times on social media, until Sakshi had enough of it and decided to take action.

(For those of you who might not remember, this is what I am referring to. Honestly, I felt that if he wanted to praise the new captain, he could have done that without dragging MSD into it. He literally invited his doom by insulting the man who has one of the biggest fanbase.)

With Siya's help, she posted about the rules of Karma on social media and all MSDians applauded her actions, knowing exactly who it was directed to.

(I just loved the way Sakshi posted this without mentioning anyone, but everyone knew exactly who it was directed to)

Mahi had not been very happy about the incident when he heard about it, but his sister convinced him by explaining that sometimes one has to raise their voice against the wrong doings of others.

Siya mostly agreed with her brother's philosophy of not giving a verbal reply to haters, but sometimes she felt that it was necessary to say something otherwise people would start considering you to be weak.

Mahi preferred to answer his critics with a good performance from him on the field, while Siya didn't mind giving a sarcastic or sassy reply every now and then.

Her brother didn't really approve of this habit of hers because he worried about her being called out for ruining the spirit of the game, which was why Siya did her best to keep her behaviour under control when she was on the field.

~~~~~~~
In the meantime, Siya was having a fantastic season with the bat in the domestic circuit.
Her brother had helped her learn how to adapt to batting in different positions, as per her team's requirement.
Siya was easily the best fielder on her team but having her standing in the slip position almost guaranteed a wicket, once the batter edged the ball.
Mahi was happy to see how well his sister was playing, but he still felt that she could do much better.
Jharkhand's team wasn't doing very well in the tournament, despite Siya's best efforts.
Mahi couldn't do much about the team's training, but he feared that his sister wouldn't get the exposure she deserves just because she was playing for a state team that was not very well known for cricket.
Siya also felt disheartened for days, after her team kept getting knocked out of the tournaments early.
The poor run of the team also meant that none of the selectors would pay attention to any exceptional players playing for such teams.
Siya wanted to play for her country, just like her brother and make him proud, but she wondered when her efforts would be enough for her to attract the attention of the selection committee.
~~~~~~~

Mahi wanted his sister to learn how to be patient while playing on the field and the first person who came to his mind to help in this endeavour was his Jammy Bhai.

Siya needed to learn how to play defensively as well and who better to teach her that than 'The Wall' of Indian Cricket.

Mahi knew that his Jammy Bhai was now the coach for the Under-19 team and so he might not be able to train his sister separately, but he also knew that Siya wouldn't mind training with the boys.

He needed to convince his Jammy Bhai first, before working on a plan to get the BCCI to grant special permission to his sister to train with the Under 19 boys who were going to start training for the World Cup in 2018.

Mahi decided to call his brother and explain his idea to him along with the reasons for his special request.

He literally wrote down his points and rehearsed them, even though he knew perfectly well that there was a high chance of him getting tongue tied once his Jammy Bhai picks up his phone.

~~~~~~~
On the other side, Jammy Bhai was quite surprised to see a call from the man who was quite well known for his terrible communication skills via the phone.
He understood that there must be some really important matter for his Mahi to actually call him on the phone.
Once the phone is picked up, Mahi says, "Hi Jammy Bhai. How are you?"
Jammy Bhai smiles and replies, "Hello Mahi. I'm fine, but you tell me whatever is bothering you right now."
Mahi gasps dramatically, "Jammy Bhai, do you mean to say that I only call you if something is bothering me? Can I not be simply missing my big brother?"
Jammy Bhai says, "Mahi, we all know that you rarely pick up your phone. If I was Dada, I might have believed the 'missing my big brother' line. Now you and I both know that there is something on your mind, so how about we skip to the part where you just tell me?"
Mahi sighs and replies, "I should have known that nothing gets past you. Okay so I'm a little worried about Siya's career and I needed your help for that."
Jammy Bhai says, "Mahi, you very well know that I will help in any way that I can. What is the real problem here?"
Mahi replies quickly, "IwantyoutotrainSiya"
Jammy Bhai says, "Mahi, take a deep breath and repeat whatever you just said, but in English this time. I couldn't catch a single word of whatever you said."
Mahi takes a deep breath and repeats himself slowly, "I said that I want you to train Siya. She needs to learn how to be more patient on the field, plus her defence needs a lot of tweaking and you are the best person to teach her all this."
Jammy Bhai sighs and says, "Mahi, I would love to help you with that, but I need to start training a new team for the World Cup in less than two years. I'm the coach of the Under-19 team and the new team is just being formed right now. I don't think I will be able to train Siya separately in between all of this."
Mahi replies, "So who's asking you to train her separately? You can train her with the boys na? She plays with boys in the club matches here, so she won't mind training with your boys there."
Jammy Bhai says, "I don't doubt that, but we will need special permission for doing something like this. Mahi, I appreciate you coming up with such a plan, but I don't think anyone in BCCI would agree for something like this."
Mahi replies, "BCCI walo ko main dekh lunga (I will look after theofficials in BCCI). You tell me if you have any problem with my plan."
Jammy Bhai says, "If you can get permission for her to train with the boys, then I have no issues. But how do you plan on convincing the board for your crazy idea?"
Mahi replies, "Kya Jammy Bhai, are you really underestimating your Mahi? I will talk to the officials and get the permission. You just get ready to handle Siya with all your boys."
Jammy Bhai sternly says, "Tell me exactly what you are planning right now."
Mahi sighs and replies, "I will talk to them and ask them to give Siya a chance to prove herself. I know that my Gudiya will do well and with Dada and Sachin Paaji's help, I think we can convince the board."
Jammy Bhai says, "Have you talked to them about this idea already? I know Dadi will agree to help you, but you do know that Sach prefers to avoid getting involved in BCCI related matters."
Mahi replies, "You are the first person I have talked to about this. I know that Dada will agree and I think I can convince Sachin Paaji. I'm very persuasive you know."
Jammy Bhai chuckles and says, "Don't I know it. So you told me first because you wanted me to agree before you talked to Dadi and Sach, right?"
Mahi replies, "If you only said no, then what would be the point? Then toh I would have to tell them to help me change your mind first before going to the BCCI."
Jammy Bhai says, "Fair point. Anyways, good luck in trying to convince Sachin and then the board. I know you'll do it somehow, but still."
Mahi replies, "Thank you Bhai. I'll see you soon to drop Siya off for training."
Jammy Bhai cuts the call, shaking his head at the amount of confidence that his Mahi had to pull off his crazy plan.
It was something that made him admire the young lad, when Mahi was just announcing his arrival in the world of international cricket.
Mahi's self-belief and confidence was what made him believe that the boy would be good for playing the role of a finisher in their batting line up.
No one was more proud than his Jammy Bhai, when Mahi had earned the title of being the 'Best Finisher in the World' from many cricket analysts and critics.
(In case you didn't know, Harsha Bhogle talked about a conversation he had with Rahul Dravid, where he asked him "Why Dhoni at 6? Why not Dhoni at number 3?" and Dravid replied, "Because no one can finish like him at number 6.")
Jammy Bhai decided to just wait patiently for the official letter from BCCI, informing him about Siya being allowed to train with the new Under-19 team.
~~~~~~~

The next day Mahi decided to talk to Dada and Sachin Paaji about his idea and get them on board to support him when he goes to the BCCI officials for getting permission for Siya to train with the Under-19 boys team.

Sakshi and Siya had taken Ziva for a routine health check-up, so they wouldn't be back for a long time and Mahi could easily talk to his brothers about his crazy idea.

Dada and Sachin Paaji were quite surprised to see a call from the kid who almost never looked at his phone whenever he was home with his family or on tour with his team.

Once they both pick up the phone Mahi says, "Before you both ask let me tell you, I am fine and just want to talk to you both about something important."

Dada chuckles and replies, "Good to know Mahiya. Now tell us what happened."

Mahi takes a deep breath and says, "I want your help to convince the board to let Siya train with Jammy Bhai. He's going to start training the new Under-19 team soon and I want Siya to join them."

Sachin Paaji asks, "Have you talked to Jammy about this?"

Mahi replies, "Yes Paaji. Jammy Bhai has no issues if we get permission from the board. Now I just need your help to convince the board."

Dada says, "I will definitely help you. Siya will learn a lot from such an experience."

Mahi smiles and replies, "Thank you Dada."

Sachin Paaji says, "I don't know Mahi. I mean I agree that training with Jammy will help her, but I'm not sure about her training with boys so much older than her."

Mahi replies, "Paaji, in the club matches Siya plays with boys older than the ones who will be on the team. I know my sister will be fine because she's very strong."

Sachin Paaji says, "Mahi, even I know that she is strong, but are you sure that she will be able to keep up with those boys? We don't know how those boys might be and I don't want Siya to feel uncomfortable."

Mahi replies, "Paaji, if Siya feels uncomfortable then I know for sure that she will tell me. Jammy Bhai will also be there with her, so if there is any problem then I'm sure we can handle it. I know you are concerned about her, but I know that we can help Siya overcome any problem that comes her way."

Dada says, "Sach, bachha sahi bol raha hai. Siya knows how to take care of herself and she is also open about her feelings, unlike her stupid brother."

Mahi whines, "Dada yaar"

Sachin Paaji ignores his kid and replies, "You're right Dadi. Okay then Mahi, I'll help you convince the board members for Siya's case."

Mahi's face lights us and he says, "Thank you Paaji. I'll send them a special request for Siya and you both are going to talk them into giving her a chance to prove herself. We just need to convince them into giving Siya a chance and then she will handle things."

Dada comments, "You sound very confident about Siya's abilities. Itna zyaada bharosa kaise hai (How are you soconfident)?"

Mahi smiles and replies, "Dada, maine khud train kiya hai usko (Dada, I have trainedher myself). If I will not know how well she can play, then who will?"

Sachin Paaji smiles and says, "Tension na le Mahi. The board will have to make an exception for our Siya. Ab jaa aur jaake request daal de with both of our names (Now go and send in therequest with both of our names)."

Mahi thanks them once again, before cutting the call and starts drafting the email.

He reads the entire email once before clicking send and goes out to wait for his family to come back home.

~~~~~~~
A few days later Mahi checked his email and found a reply from BCCI stating that they would like to see Siya once before testing her abilities.
They asked MS to bring Siya with him to the Indian training camp, which was due to start in the following week, so that they could meet the young girl and they also mentioned that some of his seniors had also been sent an invitation for the same.
Mahi understood that his Dada and Sachin Paaji must have been invited, possibly along with a few others.
He decided to inform his sister about the plan and also to explain to her why he felt that she should go to the NCA (National Cricket Academy) once she is given permission from the board.
Siya was understandably upset about having to leave her home and stay away from her family for a long period of time, but she understood where her brother was coming from.
Sakshi promised to video call her sister whenever she wanted, so that the young girl wouldn't feel homesick and also to spend some time with her beloved niece.
The brother sister duo then started packing for their trip, with little help from Sakshi because their little princess also needed some attention.
Soon Mahi and his sister were off to the training camp, where some BCCI officials waiting for them with a chance for Siya.
~~~~~~~

Looks like Siya is going to get a chance to prove her worth really soon.

Soon a few youngsters will also be making their entry in the story, including my favourite player from the 2018 Under-19 World Cup squad. Any guesses?

Let me know what you guys think ✍🏻
