Robin's breath was heavy as he tried to keep traught. Right now he and the team were trapped in some fucked up room the Joker had set up. A gun was in his hand, his finger wrapped around the trigger. His team were in tight restrictions. There was no way out. He knew that. They knew that. His breath got shakier when he heard the familiar voice of the Joker explain that he had to kill one of the team to set the rest free. Simple really. He looked to the gun in his trembling hand then his friends. "Robin please don't do this!" Miss Martian screamed. She was in deep sobs and trembled violently. He wanted to tell her everything will be okay but he didn't know if they were. 

A count down began and Robin's breath caught in his throat when he saw how much time he had. Two minutes. He had to decide who would die in two minutes. "Robin shoot me and spare the others. I am the leader. I got us into this mess," Aqualad stated. 

"No shoot me, I can heal." Superboy insisted. 

"Bullets are kryptonite," Joker announced. That plan went straight out the window.

"Shoot me then! I can heal quickly!" Kid Flash exclaimed. 

"You can't heal that quick!" Robin reasoned. If they could see his eyes they would see his panic. His lungs ached from his rapid breathing. "Robin shoot me! Save them!" Artemis shouted.

"No don't hurt anyone Robin, please! We can find a way out of this I've almost got these ropes! Everything will be fine!" Miss Martian screamed with a desperate smile.

One minute. Robin had decided. "I need you guys to promise me something," he said. His mouth was dry and his palms were sweaty. They stared at him with wide fearful eyes. "Promise to tell Batman that I don't want vengeance. I want him to use this and get better. I want him to pass on my title to someone who needs it as bad as I did." Tears fell from under his mask and he forced a smile for them. "What are you doing?" Artemis asked. 

"Why are you talking like that?" Miss Martian added. He knew they knew what he was going to do. "We didn't get to know each other well enough for him to let you know my ID. I'm sorry for that but a friend of mine will fill you in. Pester Batman enough and you'll find her." He tried to laugh but it was just a shell of the one they heard all the time. "Robin don't you dare do what I think you're going to do!" Kid Flash shrieked. 

Thirty seconds. "Don't get yourselves killed, will you? And close your eyes for me. I'm sorry." They were all crying as the gun was raised to his temple and he closed his eyes. "Stay traught."

"Robin!" He had already scrunched up his face in anticipation. The relief never came. He heard the gun go off but felt someone kick the gun away sharply. Had the gun been fake? He was alive? Was he saved? Then why did he feel like sobbing his heart out? He dropped to his knees as a sick feeling rose in his stomach. He screamed, hiding his head in his hands. He felt like he couldn't breathe.

The person that had saved his life was Flash. He was quickly untying the team and one by one they all ran over to their little bird. Robin grabbed onto the first person who was near him which happened to be Miss Martian. She held onto him as well, sobbing her heart out. "Don't you ever do that again!" she shrieked. He shook his head furiously. 

"I won't I promise I won't!"

"You little shit I thought you were going to die!" Kid Flash yelled, joining the hug.

"The League will be here soon. Is anyone hurt?" Flash announced. Aqualad shook his head but then thought again. "Physically no but we may need to talk with Black Canary after this," he answered. Artemis and Superboy had now joined the hug, crying themselves. "May I?" he asked but when he turned back to Flash he was already gone and joined in the hug. Aqualad knelt down and joined. "I'm sorry, never let me do that again. I was so scared I didn't want to die!" Robin cried. "It's alright Robin, we're here," Aqualad told him.

God this night had been awful.
