Screw you Batman

Nearly a month without uploading and they come back with a story that no one even asked them to make.

Hiya kiddos of the Interwebs. Sorry for being away for so long. Blame my school. Anyways have this story in return for being so patient with me.

Kid Flash could see his feet swing over a 100-meter drop to certain death. He was currently tied up to a certain Boy Wonder and dangling off the edge of a rather tall building with the help of a crane that had been hijacked by Joker. Robin was barely conscious so he'd be no use in this situation. It was Kid Flash's fault really. Maybe letting Robin go after Gotham's number one criminal alone with no chance of back up was a bad choice. You win some and you lose some right?

On the next building over he could spot two figures. One was wearing a bright red uniform, obviously that was Flash, and the other was wearing all black, they were either a misplaced emo or the Dark Knight himself. "Batman he has our kids!" The one in red yelled. Yup definitely Flash. He was always one for over dramatics. "Flash calm down." Batman instructed sternly. He sounded pissed.

"Robin? You awake back there?" Kid Flash asked, trying to keep his eyes on the two figures and not the death drop. "Yeah," he mumbled. A nagging ache could be felt at the back of his head and the sun only intensified it. "Where are we?" he asked, blinking quickly. "Over a death drop." Kid Flash answered bluntly. Robin looked down and saw the drop. "So we are. You know, I really thought this would be simpler," he commented.

"You always do buddy. Maybe next time."

"Batman and Flash, what a pleasure!" Joker announced through a megaphone. "Where the hell did he get that?" Kid Flash asked, not remembering seeing it as he was slung up with Robin. "As you can see, I have your beloved protégés tied up and on the brink of certain death! Wouldn't it be a shame if I let them go?" Batman rolled his eyes at the threat and typed something into his hand sized computer. "How can you be so calm? Kid Flash and Robin are gonna die if we don't do something!" Flash screeched.

"Stop being so over dramatic Flash. You should be more concerned about the fact your protégé couldn't handle a simple mission with mine." he answered. Flash was awestruck. Did he seriously just say that? No he didn't. Right? "B-but they're in mortal danger!"

"That they put themselves in. It's their own fault really."

"Batman!" Flash scolded. Robin and Kid Flash watched the dispute with an unamused expression. "Are they seriously just arguing? No fighting me?" Joker asked, slightly disappointed.

"Hey! Stop arguing and actually help us here!" Kid Flash yelled over to them.

"Sorry!" Flash yelled back. Batman quickly hacked the crane, safely delivering the two sidekicks onto their roof. "Flash, if you've quit your complaining will you pull your weight and help?" Batman asked but it was more of an order. The speedster nodded and joined in detaining the mad clown.

Whilst the police shoved Joker into a police van, the mentors rejoined their partners. Flash hugged Kid Flash tightly and happily. "Are you okay? Do want a week off? Never scare me like that again! I was so worried!" he exclaimed.

"Too. Tight. Gonna. Suffocate." Kid Flash wheezed out. The older laughed and let go. Robin couldn't help but smile at the pair. They were truly like Father and Son. "Robin, I want a full account of the events that happened during the mission. Then I want a list of all the mistakes you made and how you can not make them again. This whole situation has taken up valuable time that I would rather not spend on babysitting two sidekicks." Batman told him sternly. Robin scowled at the man but nodded in defeat. He could be such a dick sometimes. "Don't you want to, I don't know, see if I'm okay like Flash does?" Robin spat. Batman just dismissed him and told him to wait in the Batmobile. Robin gave him a quick glare before limping away. He felt like shit if he was completely honest. "Batman, cut the kid some slack. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes," Commissioner Gordon told Batman as he walked over to him.

"Mistakes get people killed Commissioner. Is Joker detained?" Batman replied.

"Yes. We'll have him in an Arkham cell within the next hour. Thanks for your help." he answered. "It's my job to help, don't thank me for it." Batman said, walking to the Batmobile.

"I don't know how Robin deals with him," Gordon muttered.

As the Bat duo entered the cave, to say they were in a bad mood would be all kinds of wrong. A fight was brewing and as soon as Alfred sensed it he suddenly had chores outside of the mansion to do. "What the hell was that?" Robin asked finally. He had been typing up the events and got to the part where he woke up. "I don't know what you mean," Batman said simply.

"Oh? Well let me enlighten you on something. When someone's kid is suspended over a drop that would kill them most parents would at least ask if they were alright." he said angrily. Batman swiveled his chair around so he could face his ward. "You know that you and I are unlike most people," Batman answered.

"I can't believe you! It's like you don't even care if I get hurt nowadays!" Robin yelled standing up. A pain shot up his body but he refused to wince at this trivial point in the argument. "I do care about you but I saw no point in asking as you would tell me if there was something wrong," Batman told him. Robin groaned in frustration. "Barry asked Wally if he was okay, why didn't you with me? Am I not as good as Wally or something?" Robin asked, pulling his mask off.

"You're better than Wally therefore you shouldn't care if I ask if you're alright."

"You used to always ask if I was alright even when it was unnecessary. What happened? Is it because I'm not a kid anymore?" There was an uncomfortable silence. "Well you know what they say, kids aren't just for Christmas they're for life. Perhaps you didn't think about that before fostering me." Batman pulled down his cowl and sighed. "Barry cares! He takes the time to ask! Why don't you?"

"Barry and Wally live in a city-"

"Don't you dare give me the whole we live in a more dangerous city talk! I want to know why you don't love me like a father is supposed to love a son!" he shouted with slight tears in his eyes.

"Richard calm down."

"Screw you! Is that your go to? Just tell others to calm down instead of actually caring about them?" He could've gone on but he felt a sudden wave of light headedness forcing him to put a hand to his head. "Richard of course I care. I thought you knew that. You should know that," Bruce told him, taking advantage of the headache coming over Dick. "Then why did you act like you could've watched me die without a single bit of regret?" Dick managed to say. Bruce gasped a little and hugged his son tightly. "Say that again and you'll be off patrol for a week." Dick laughed a little and hugged his mentor back. "Hey Bruce?" Bruce hummed in response.

"Screw you." Bruce laughed to himself.

"Language Dick."

Some angst to come back with. Hope you enjoyed it!
