A little aftermath of In Blackest Night, where Blake gets to spend a little time with Shayera...

The Justice League members were currently inside the Javelin, flying their way back to the Watchtower. The whole way back was a rather quiet, as today was a lot. John being framed for destroying a planet, to which it wasn't, found guilty and almost killed for it, and the Manhunters attacking Oa. It was a mess.

The Javelin arrived at the Watchtower, to which it landed inside the hangar. Everyone got off, and headed inside. As they reached the main area, they see both Batman and Wonder Woman waiting for them.

Wonder Woman: "There you are. What happened?" She asked.

Hot Shot: "Long story." He commented.

Batman: "We got time."

Green Lantern: "I'll go ahead and debrief you two. The rest of you can go on ahead and relax."

Superman: "I'm gonna head back to Metropolis. Call me if you need me."

Superman flew away, as the rest of the members dispersed. Martian flew up to the nest to continue monitoring, Flash went over to the kitchen to get himself a snack, and Lantern talks with Batman about what happened.

Hawkgirl: "Hey, Blake?" She asked as she tapped his shoulder.

Hot Shot: "Yeah?"

Hawkgirl: "You want to grab something to eat from the kitchen?"

Hot Shot: "Sure, I'm starving."

Hawkgirl smiled as both she and Blake left the area. Diana watches the two leave, and she couldn't help but feel something. She wasn't sure what it was but it irritated her. Hawkgirl just simply asked him if he wanted anything to eat from the kitchen and nothing else after that...right? Diana decided to ignore for it now and joins with Batman and Green Lantern as they discussed what happened.

Over at the kitchen, Hot Shot and Hawkgirl were sitting at a table together, eating their food and talking about various topics. Blake currently had his mask off, and set it at the side of the table.

Hawkgirl: "So wait, what's the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek?"

Hot Shot: [Sighs] "Star Wars has lightsabers while Star Trek has characters wear different colored uniforms."

Hawkgirl: "That has to be the lamest explanation I have ever heard." She commented as she was chuckling.

Hot Shot: "Well, it's the best way I can simplify it. And I am much more of a Star Wars guy than a Trekkie."

Hawkgirl shook her head fondly, as she was giggling. Blake couldn't help but find Shayera's laugh adorable and he loved her smile. For a Thanagerian warrior who was supposed to be scary and intimidating, she was quite nice to be around.

Hawkgirl: "Alright, I need to see those Star Wars movies for myself, since you're always praising about it."

Hot Shot: "What can I say, the original trilogy is an absolute classic! And I enjoyed watching the prequel trilogy, even if there are a few people that don't like it. But yeah, I'll be sure to bring those movies here."

Hawkgirl: "Sounds good. So, what else does Earth have to offer?"

Hot Shot: "Oh, well have you had chance to listen to Earth's music yet?"

Hawkgirl: "No, I haven't."

Hot Shot: "Well, you are in luck!"

He then reaches in his pocket on his suit, and takes out a small music player with headphones already plugged in.

Hawkgirl: "What is it?" She asked, wondering what the device is.

Hot Shot: "It's an MP3 player. Pretty much, you can listen to music whenever and wherever you want. Here, put this on."

Hawkgirl walks over to him, and shares the headphones with him. She sees him scrolling through various song choices, till he finds a good one.

Hot Shot: "Ah, this one is a classic."

He turns up a bit of the volume, so that she can be able to hear. The song started playing, as Hot Shot started dancing a bit to the beat, while Hawkgirl was just confused.

Shayera was weirded out at first, but she was actually starting to enjoy it a bit. She looked over to Blake, only to see him dancing along to the song with a huge smile on his face. She couldn't but smile as well, just seeing him as this adorable goofball.

The road behind was rocky
But now you're feeling cocky

And she said

Through the second verse, Shayera couldn't help but actually dance a little bit to the song now. Then, as the chorus began, Blake sang a long to the song.

As the instruments play, Blake looked over to Shayera, as she was surprised that he actually sang pretty well.

Hot Shot: "What do you think? Of the song, I mean."

Hawkgirl: "You know...I'm actually loving this."

Hot Shot: "Oh, get ready. This is my favorite part." He said as he cleared his throat and sung the next part.

As he was singing, he was looking over to Shayera, who was smiling and dancing to the song now. Then, they both began to sang the chorus together.

They kept on singing as the song was reaching to the end. Unknown to them, someone was watching them together. Superman was by the door, and couldn't help but smile, seeing these two interact with each other. He, of course, left to let them have their fun.

The song, as both heroes laughed with joy. It was odd feeling for Hawkgirl to feel like this, but...she was not complaining about it.

Hot Shot: "Figured you would love it."

Hawkgirl: "Yes, it definitely has surprised me. Is there any songs on here?" She asked as she looked at the MP3 Player.

Hot Shot: "Well, let me see here...I have various genres of music on here like jazz, rock, pop, and many others. Oh, here's an interesting one. This is like a Synth-Pop genre of music, as well as new wave and new romantic."

Hawkgirl: "New romantic, huh? Well, play it."

Hot Shot: "Okay, here you go."

Both Hot Shot and Hawkgirl sat down together, as they listened through the whole song.

As soon as the chorus, Hawkgirl immediately fell in love with the song. There was something about it that was just so stunning. She then huddled close to Hot Shot, which he began to blush a lot by this action. On one hand, he was freaking out, but on the other hand, he felt comfort.

Blake then wrapped his arms around her and brought her closer to him. She also began to blush as well, as she really like the embrace. Both relaxed and listened to the song continue on.

Hawkgirl: "Wow." She responded.

Hot Shot: "Yeah. Another one of my favorites."

Then, his watch began to go off, as he checks to look at the time.

Hot Shot: "Oh man, I almost forgot. My sister invited me over for dinner. I'm sorry, Shayera."

Hawkgirl: "It's okay, we can continue listening to other music another time. Take care."

She then give him a kiss on the cheek and left. Blake couldn't believe it. First, a kiss from Diana and now Shayera as well. Nothing like this has ever happened to him.

Hot Shot was walking over towards to the hangar, getting on the Javelin so that he could be dropped off in Gotham. Before he could enter, he heard a voice call out to him.

"Hot Shot, hold up."

He turned around to see Green Lantern flying towards and then, landing in front of him.

Hot Shot: "John, what's up?"

Green Lantern: "I really want to say, thank you. Again, for what you and the others did back on Ajuris 4. You all went to various to prove my innocence, even though I didn't believe in myself."

Hot Shot: "John, like I said before, you are our teammate and a friend. We look out for each other, and we'll be there for each other whatever the challenges we will face." He said as he had his hand on John's shoulder.

Green Lantern: "Thanks. You know, we should test out those abilities of yours. You mind if I stop by Gotham, and train together tomorrow."

Hot Shot: "Sure, although just to let you know, I was able to take down those other Lanterns. Just be prepared."

Green Lantern: [Chuckles] "We'll see, kid. Take care."

Hot Shot: "You too, John."

Green Lantern left the hangar, as Hot Shot got on board the Javelin and took off. On the observation deck, Diana was looking through the windows, as she sees the Javelin fly back to Earth. She sighed sadly, watching him leave, but she knows that he'll be back the next day. She hopes that maybe she'll have another chance to hang out with him. Only time will tell.
