Besides Sand, Goji had never seen another monster kill themselves.

This was a whole new level of scary.

The black-and-red Ghidorat's middle head bent down and fired his lightning beam at his chest, causing an explosion that blew the head clean off. The Ghidorat's body and remaining two heads, missing the controller head, began to writhe and twitch, crying out inaudible curses.

Then, in a flash of red, Queen Rodan decapitated the other two heads, and the body flopped to the floor, dead.

Goji had forgotten that about Rodanians; it was a detail not often written in books. Adult Rodanians had a single, scythe-like retractable claw next to their fingers on both of their wings.

Goji watched as Rodan silently retracted the long, sinister-looking claw, and remembered the only book in which it was written; "Rodanians; A Tribal History"

A secret weapon of the tribe that is not much of a true secret, Adult Rodanians develop a long, retractable claw on both of their wings, just behind their fingers. It is curved, like a scythe, and made of thin, unbreakable bone, making it an essential weapon for combat.

"Now, if that's done, you need to be put in a special cell tonight." Rodan said, grinning evilly at Goji.

That night, Goji was put into a special cell that was part of a set of solitary confinement cells. There were only five of them, but they were  lot more restricted than the normal prison cells. The only openings in it were the barred metal door, and two barred windows on either side that looked into the neighboring cells. The room was much larger, however, and made of smooth, black rock that seemed to be part of a cave formation. The only interesting and different thing in the room was a small, circular hole filled with water that Goji guessed was for drinking.

He was about to fall asleep when a familiar whisper caught his attention to the cell entrance.

"Scarlet?" Goji asked, confused. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to warn you again," She said, with a concerned tone. "Queen Rodan wants to put you into the arena tomorrow."

"Against who?" he asked.

"I don't know." She replied. "Just be careful, ok."

Goji was about to thank her, but she had already walked away, leaving him to ponder what she meant by be careful.

Why should she care about me? Goji thought, concerned, until he realized her meaning-

She believes in the prophecy. She wants the war to end so she doesn't have to kill other monsters anymore.

Goji felt good, knowing there were other monsters out there who believed in the prophecy, but he knew he would feel better if he was asleep.

So he did that.

The next day, the guards came and took Goji to the arena, where a crowd had already gathered in the stands. The announcer introduced him.

"With a single win, but already feared, we have one of the fabled prophecy monsterlings! Goji, the Godzillasaurus!"

the crowd cheered, but Goji didn't feel any better. He didn't want to have to watch another monster die right in front of him, whether it was his doing or not.

"On the other side, an aged monster who's time has long since passed, and is now just a piece of dead weight, am I right?"

The crowd laughed.

"Anyways, we give you, Grandeur the Ghidorat!"

Oh no. Goji thought, as he realized who it was.

On the other side of the arena, the guards dropped an old Ghidorat, and Goji instantly recognized who it was.

It was the Ghidorat with the shredded wings who had been in the prison tower next to him.
