It took about 40 minutes to walk back to the apartment. You would have opted to take the bus, but your bus pass was still sitting on your kitchen counter where you left it. Neither of you minded the walk though, you just joked around and enjoyed eachothers company.

"Ah, Home sweet apartment," you sighed, enjoying the familiar scent of laundry detergent and Febreze in the main foyer.

"Is it just me, or did Kevin change fabric softeners again?" Jungkook asked, puzzled as he sniffed the air again.

"What?" you laughed, shaking your head in disbelief.

"Hey, I know Downy when I smell it, and that ain't it chief." Jungkook narrowed his eyes in suspicion as the two of you boarded the elevator.

"You are something else," you sighed, laughing at Jungkook's flabbergasted expression.

"Said the one wearing boxers"

"They're your boxers!" You defended, blushing as you noticed his eyes dart down to the waistline of the jogging pants. Sure enough the waist band was peeking above the pant-line.

"Yes, they are." He smirked, moving closer to you until you could feel his breath fanning your forehead. He chuckled at your obviously shy reaction and reached his arm out behind you. "The elevator requires the button to be pushed in order to work, you know."

"Ugh. Y/n, stop being so nervous." You cursed at yourself. "It's just Jungkook. Cute, adorable, sexy Jungkook-"

"Sexy huh?" You froze at your date's amused words.

"Shit- did I say that out loud?" You couldn't make eye contact, the entire situation had you flustered beyond belief.

"Say what out loud?" He began, smiling innocently as you relaxed a little. "That I'm cute? Adorable... sexy..?"

His voice was light and playful as he teased you, leaning down in front of you as though he were daring you to look him in the eye.

"Awe, why so shy bae."

"Shut up," you groaned, burying your face into your hands.

"But it's cute when noona is shy" he laughed, grinning when you lowered your hands to shoot him a half-assed glare.

"You realize i'm younger than you, right?"

"Really? Are you sure?" He narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

"Dude. You told me your birthdate."

"Or did I.. hmm?"

"You're literally the worst."

Ding the elevator opened and you had to drag an offended Jung-oof behind you.

"Noona~" he whined.

"Kook," you groaned, refraining from looking at him. You slowed your pace as you approached your apartment, a chill running down your spine. Something seemed off.

"But Noonaaa~"

"Jungkook-" You stopped dead in your tracks, clutching to Jungkook's sweater sleeve until your knuckles turned as pale as your face.

"Yah- Noona-"

"Jungkook- the door is open." He turned his gaze to follow yours, instinctively moving to shield you. Sure enough, your front door was wide open.

"Stay here." Any playfulness that had previously laced his voice was gone. He glanced at you from the corner of his eye before slowly approaching apartment 117, stalking slowly and gracefully like a panther.

The door creaked lightly as he pushed it open the rest of the way. You took a couple steps his direction, stopping when he held his hand out motioning you to stop.

Your heart was pounding in your chest as Jungkook searched the apartment for unwanted guests.

It seemed like seven years had passed before he finally called out to you from the front hall. "Okay, it's all clear."

You hesitantly walked into your own home, eyes darting all around as you tried to calm down. Jungkook pulled you in for a reassuring hug, holding you protectively as he whispered that everything was going to be okay, that you were safe.

You nodded and pulled away, inspecting the area around you. Your wallet and bus pass were still beside the coffee maker where you left them, and everything seemed to be exactly how you left it. "Nothing looks out of place."

Jungkook sighed, inspecting the lock on your front door. "The lock works fine, and there's no sign of forced entry. Did you leave the door u locked?"

"No- I never-" you sighed, muttering a curse under your breath. "I was so out of it yesterday, I must've forgotten to lock it on my way to your place."

"Hey, it's okay. We don't have to go out today. We can stay here and watch movies or something- if you want to of course- I mean-"

"No, I want to go out still. Just give me a second to get changed." You cut off Jungkook's rambling with a kiss on the cheek. He smiled and nodded, a slight blush tinting his cheeks.

You started down the hall towards you bedroom and paused, the bedroom door was open and the bed was made. The open door could have easily been from when jungkook was sweeping the place. But the bed- you didn't make it. You rarely made your bed as it is, and you sure as hell didn't have the energy nor motivation to yesterday night.

"What is it? Whats wrong?" Jungkook came to stand beside you. All you could do is stare, the blood draining from your face. Jungkook seemed to understand your fears and entered the room, thoroughly searching it- under the bed, behind the curtains, everywhere. Normally you would have freaked out about someone invading your privacy, but you were more disturbed by the situation.  He paused and picked something up off the bed. "Y/N."

Joined him, and hesitantly took the paper from him. He looked furious, his jaw clenching and his muscles rippling from the tension.

Your blood ran cold when you read the note.
