13 | dinner date

Taeyong smiled sweetly at the children who were greeting him as they entered the school. Though he has a smile on his face, his mind was somewhere else. He tucked his hair behind his ear but he got suddenly nudged by the beta beside him.

"You alright?" Taeil asked.

The omega hummed and nodded, "Yeah, of course, hyung..."

"You could say anything. It's the alpha, isn't it?"

Taeyong chuckled nervously as his hand rubbed against his neck, where the bitemark was, "You see, Donghyuck invited his 'friend' over for dinner. I was thinking if I'll poison him or not."

"Hey, that could possibly your brother-in-law."

"Don't joke like that."

Taeil laughed, "Why would Hyuck introduce an alpha if he has omegas as his friends?"

"Jisung is an alpha."

"Hm, you got a point--"

"Wait, I'm not defending that alpha, okay? Just wanna clear things out," the omega said.

"Uh-huh..."

"Taeyong!"

Both of them looked behind and saw Kun waving at them. The beta signaled the omega to come over. Taeyong nodded at him and put a hand up to tell him to wait a second.

"Catch up to you later, hyung," the omega said.

Taeil nodded before Taeyong ran towards Kun then they walked into the building. The beta stayed there as he greeted the children. After a few seconds, a car pulled up infront of him. He has a wide smile as Blue came out of the car. The boy went over and wave at the beta.

"Hello, teacher!" Blue greeted.

Taeil nodded and ruffled the little boy's hair. The man inside the car rolled his window down for the beta.

"Oh, Jaehyun. Good morning," he greeted.

Jaehyun smiled, "Hey, Taeil. I, uh, can't stay any longer here because I need to be somewhere. But is...Ten already here?"

The beta nodded, "He is. Don't worry, we'll take care of Blue here."

"I know. Anyway, see you later. I'll pick up Blue."

"Alright, have a safe drive then."

The alpha rolled the window up and drove away from the institution. In all honesty, it wasn't what Jaehyun wanted to ask. He wanted to ask if there's an omega that works there. If he did ask that, it would probably mean something bad to Taeil so he pulled himself back. He must do something to have a chance to talk with the omega.

As much as possible, he doesn't want to put a red flag. He is an alpha. People judge them by their kind and Jaehyun doesn't think that alphas should be treated like aggressive kinds all the time. Jaehyun can't just burst out that he's the omega he's looking for. He needs proof.

The only thing that could prove it is the omega himself.

For now, he needs to think about the dinner later. Mark just had to pull him into it.

"Are you ready?"

Jaehyun rolled his eyes as they walk down the stairs, "Shouldn't I be the one asking you that? You look a highschooler meeting their first love."

"Oh, come on. I can feel it. He's the one," Mark said.

They walked towards the parking lot. They have their own cars and neither one of them wants to leave their vehicle so they just had to bring both.

"Really? You haven't seen him--"

Mark chuckled, "Remember Jeno? I visited him at the university then I met his friend, the boy I'm talking about. I kinda just felt it. I just had to have him"

"You sound so thirsty."

"It's love."

They stepped into their cars. Jaehyun placed his bag at the backseat and didn't even bother fixing himself. He isn't the one who is on a date anyway. Shrugging it off, Jaehyun started his car and followed Mark out of the building. He used his hand to steer while the other one unbuttons his coat. He mentally said to himself to leave as soon as Mark is invited inside.

He won't stay and become a third party.

It didn't take them long and arrived at an small apartment building. They parked by the sidewalk before they stepped out. Mark huffed and fixed his suit he was wearing. Jaehyun raised an eyebrow at him and the alpha found it judging.

"Hey, they said 'dress to impress'. Don't judge," Mark said.

Jaehyun chuckled, "It's just new to see you like this."

They walked towards the building and walked up the stairs. Mark has his phone up where the room number was. Both alphas went passing by each door until they stopped at a specific door number. Jaehyun stood behind with his hands in his pockets. It was a bit chilly and his coat wasn't doing the trick enough. But his attention went over to the alpha who seemed too nervous.

"All you have to do is to knock," Jaehyun said.

Mark rolled his eyes, "Shut the hell up."

The alpha huffed before he finally knocked against the wooden door. Both of them stayed and heard rustling inside the apartment.

"How long have you been with this omega?" Jaehyun asked.

Mark turned to face him, "Just...a few weeks."

"You kids are too fast."

"You just haven't seen your--"

Suddenly, the door opened and revealed the omega. Mark turned and Jaehyun looked behind without expecting that it was the omega that was in his head 24/7. He loosened up with his eyes widened, same with the omega's expression.

Both of them were just staring at each other. Mark was weird out by it but before he could break the ice, the sunshine came out behind his brother.

"Oh, hi. Hyung, this is Mark. Mark, this is my brother, Taeyong."

Mark nodded, "This is my friend and boss, Jaehyun. Sorry if we're dressed like this. We just got out of work."

Donghyuck smiled dreamingly and nodded, "No, it's fine. I like it--Wait, Jaehyun?"

But it took Donghyuck some time before he noticed that his brother's like a statue. He looked at the man behind Mark and realized that he probably made a mistake.
