16 | return the favor

It wasn't usually that Jaehyun takes too much time on fixing himself infront of the mirror. He never think about what suit color will be wearing today or what tie or dress shirt color. He doesn't even bother checking himself in the mirror this much before. He felt so conscious that he needs to look good infront of everyone.

Well, maybe not everyone. Just for someone.

Blue suddenly bursted into his bedroom. Jaehyun got startled by it but he just cooed at how his son looked so cute in his tiny outfit with his tiny bag.

The little prince lets his dimples show.

"Daddy, let's go! Papa is waiting," Blue said.

Jaehyun nodded and took one more glance at himself on the mirror. He fixed his coat and made sure everything was nice before he went to hold onto Blue's small hands. Jaehyun reached for his bag before they walked out of the room.

They walked down the stairs with Blue hopping each stair happily. Jaehyun waited for him with a smile on his face. They got down and Jaehyun grabbed his car keys ontop of a drawer.

"Ma, we're going," Jaehyun said.

They went out and walked towards the car. Jaehyun opened the driver's seat first to place his bag on the passenger before he opened the backseat door and carried Blue to let him sit with a seatbelt on. He ruffled the baby's hair before he closed it.

"You sure you're going to bring your omega this Saturday?" his mother asked with her arms crossed.

"He's not my omega," Jaehyun corrected before he leaned on his car's door, "And yeah, he said he will be coming."

She smiled, "Oh well, whatever floats your boat. Anyway, your father and I needed to go to your grandparents in America this Saturday so we won't be staying too long. If you want, you and Blue can--"

"No, we're...kinda good here. Also, Blue can't leave school that long. I'm also planning to move out so it's fine, ma," the alpha said.

"Hm, okay. I'll still call you then," she said.

Jaehyun nodded, "Yeah, okay. We're going."

He stepped into the car and closed his door. He started the engine before they drove away. Jaehyun looked at Blue by the rear view, wanting to ask something to his son but backed out. It was quite embarrassing to say the least.

It took some time until they arrived at the kindergarten. Jaehyun leaned down and tried to see if he could see the specific omega around. He couldn't see him by the gate but he did saw Taeyong seated on a bench by the small playground. He went to look at Blue behind to see him looking at the omega as well.

"Papa!" Blue called with sparkling eyes.

Jaehyun groaned. He obviously doesn't have the omega's attention. And if he does, surely his son would still it away from him. Wait, why is even expecting Taeyong to give him some attention?

He's bonded, Jaehyun.

The alpha sighed before he got out of the car. He opened the door of the backseat. He removed the seatbelt before he pulled Blue to carry him. He closed the door before he went to walked into the school premises. Blue started squirming in his arms and Jaehyun knew what was the reason.

"Hey, baby," Taeyong greeted, "Hi, Jaehyun."

"Baby? Oh yeah, the baby. Hi, baby--I mean Taeyong," Jaehyun stuttered along the way. He nervously chuckled and placed Blue down.

The omega carried his son and kissed his cheek before he looked over at the alpha, "You look...nicely dressed. Do you have any meetings?"

Taeyong has never thought about Jaehyun looking messy and unprepared. Though they just met a few days ago, he knew that the alpha is pretty much strict to his words but gets flustered easily. He does like the alpha in suits. But what he didn't like was the perfume he smelled. It did block the alpha's musky woodland scent he likes.

His scent smelled so comforting though it does smell strong and bold, originally what alphas do smell. The perfume just masked and messed it up a bit.

"Oh, I just thought I should look more presentable than before."

Was it the greatest excuse? No. But did Jaehyun know anything else other than that? No.

The omega nodded with a small giggle, "It looks nice. But your necktie does look a bit crooked."

Jaehyun looked straight at the omega's eyes as a hand reached over his necktie to fix it. The omega was close enough for the alpha to smell the lavender scent that he wants to enjoy for as long as he could. Jaehyun just wants to pull Taeyong closer.

"Done. A simple detail could bring a lot of attention," Taeyong said softly.

Jaehyun chuckled, "Thank you. Anyway, I have to go now..."

"Oh, wait! I need to give you something before you leave."

The omega jogged to where he sat with Blue. He lets the baby to play with the other children before he looked around to find something. Jaehyun has his eyes on Taeyong. He found him skinny but looked lean at the same time. He was taller than him, the omega just reached his neck. He could kiss his forehead if he could. But of course, he had to be reminded about the omega being bonded. The bitemark was exposed and the alpha did take a step back.

Jaehyun sighed. This is stupid. He shouldn't really look at a mated omega like this. This wouldn't end well. Taeyong would also take it as a red flag if he acts weirdly around him. Should he go to blind dates?

Then his thoughts were cut when the omega came back with a paper bag in his hand. Taeyong timidly smiled and handed over the paper bag to Jaehyun. The alpha raised an eyebrow at him as he slowly grabbed the bag to look inside.

"I just thought...about making a packed lunch for you and Blue as well."

Jaehyun smiled at him, "You've been cooking for your mate?"

Taeyong would be lying if the dimpled smile didn't make his heart skip a beat.

"Y-Yeah, of course. I also pack up some food for my brother then you guys just came up to mind," the omega uttered, "I hope you'll like it."

"I'm not a picky eater so I'll definitely enjoy it. Thank you."

Taeyong nodded, "No problem."

"See you later."

The omega smiled, "Yeah, see you later."

Jaehyun has turned his back but he realized he should return the favor. He did debate about it a few seconds before he turned back to face Taeyong. The omega looked at with big doe eyes, expecting something from the alpha at the moment.

The alpha scratched his nape and chuckled, "I can drive you home later."

Taeyong lightly blushed, "W-Why? I can walk myse--"

"I just want to return the favor. But I don't want to push you on something you don't want," Jaehyun uttered.

Theomega hummed and smiled, "If you insist."
