Pre-Prologue

During a war, Ace Anarchy fights the other powers and quickly influences the Prodigies and the world. A city, called Gatlon City, is closed off from the rest of the world for 10 years. Hope appears later through people with powers called The Renegades.

Prologue

Nova is a six-year-old girl (nearly seven) with the ability to make people fall asleep when she touches them. Her father, David Artino, can take energy out of the air and turn into metal and weave them. Her mother's name is Tala Artino and her baby sister is Evie Artino. Evie is down with a fever and Nova holds her sister in her arms. Evie is almost one and Nova's touch makes Evie fall asleep in their room. Nova falls asleep and later, Nova finds her parents fighting with an unknown man. The man shoots Tala and David and Nova hides in a closet in her room. Evie cries and then she too is shot. The man opens the closet and Nova makes him fall asleep. A few hours later Alec Artino arrives and picks up Nova, telling her to call him "Uncle Ace", as he is David's brother and is the true identity of "Ace Anarchy". Ace shoots the unknown man.

Chapter 1

17-year-old Nova Artino (also known as "Nightmare") watches children play with squirt guns in downtown Galtan City with disgust. She also sees the food vendors (themed with the heroes), and people dressing up as their favorite Renegade. There are "tiny plush versions of the famous Renegade quintet." The food is "Captain Chromium funnel cakes and Tsunami Fish 'n' chips baskets and one sign advertising Dread Warden's Favorite Popcorn Chicken - Get Some Now Before It Disappears!" The parade is loud and the citizens are nuts. Nova hates it because The Renegades did not come to her family when Hugh Everhart/"Captain Chromium" killed her parents. The first floats in the parade in the villain floats. The first float reminds the citizens of Galtan City of "the ninth anniversary of the Battle of Galton, when the Renegades had taken on the Anarchists and the other villain gangs in the bloody fight that had ended with dozens of dead on both sides." Ace Anarchy, Nova's uncle, died in the battle. Balloons depicting Atomic Brain, Ace's partner before the Council ruled since "the Day of Triumph." Ingrid Thompson's voice then speaks into Nova's Bluetooth. "Phobia" asks if everything is organized and Nova says yes. Ingrid pokes out from some blinds across the street and Nova sees the villains depicted are "Rat and Brimstone", Queen Bee, Ace Anarchy (looks exactly like the real one), and others. A red banner with white words passing by advirtises "the upcoming Renegades trials". A girls trips Nova over and a boy tackles her. He rips off the copper bracelet the girl was weaing and goves it back to Nova. A part of the bracelet is broken and the boy uses a marker and blows on the drawing on Nova's skin to fix the bracelet. Phobia then tells Nova to get into position and she says "Roger" and the boy says "Adrian, actually." thinking she was trying to guess her name. Nova runs from the parade and grabs her stuff.

Chapter 2

Nova climbs up a house and gets on the roof. She prepares herself to shoot Hugh Everhart as the Council's float comes into view. Tamaya Rae/"Thunderbird" sends lighting across the sky, Evander Wade/"Blacklight" creates fireworks and strobe lights, Kasumi Hasegawa/"Tsunami" manipulates water filled with fish, Simon Westwood/"Dread Warden" turns invisible and does silly stuff to amuse the crowd, and Hugh Everhart/"Captain Chromium" is looking out at the crowds. There are rumors speculating that Hugh and Simon are gay. Nova is ready and she tells herself to shoot. Nova stops for a second and then tries to shoot at Hugh's eye, but the bullet misses. Then, a girl with the power to turn into butterflies (Danna Bell/"Monarch") blinds Nova's vision and another girl with a red grappling hook (Ruby Tucker/"Red Assassin") rips Nova's gun away. Nova recognizes them as "Red Assassin and Monarch." Then another boy (Oscar Silva/"Smokescreen") appears behind Nova on her right. All four teens wear the Renegade uniform: "form-fitting charcoal gray Lycra from her neck to her boots, piped in red and emblazoned with a small R over her heart." Oscar sneers at her and Nova throws "two of her heat-seeking throwing stars, an invention she had worked all last summer to complete." at Ruby, but she dodges and Danna turns into a swarm of butterflies. Nova turns her Bluetooth off and Oscar uses his smoke to choke Nova. Ruby dodges one of the stars and one stabs her, allowing her to make a lasso. Danna hisses at Nova and Nova breaks free from Oscar's smoke. She shoves Oscar and Danna off the roof. Ruby lassos Nova demands who Nova is working for. Nova says "Your worst nightmare" before kicking Ruby off the roof. Nova spots her duffelbag and runs towards it, by Danna appears and they fight before Danna runs off. As Nova's tries to escape someone blocks her escape route as Winston Pratt/"The Puppeteer" laughs manically.

Chapter 3

Winston is in a hot air balloon with the Anarchist symbol on it. He unleashes eight gold cords and dictates eight people. The people are terrified. Nova catches the stranger in one of her net guns and the stranger burns the net, calling himself "the Sentinel." Nova sneers at him when she beings stabbing Danna, but Danna turns into butterflies. Something slams Nova away as Winston floats down to her. Nova stabs the Sentinel and the Sentinel blasts fire at Nova. She gets in Winston's hot air balloon and the Sentinel accuses Nova of trying to assassinate Captain Chromium. The Council tries to save the children as Thunderbird demands that Winston let the children go. He refuses and Nova traps Thunderbird with her netting gun. Thunderbird screams as she falls to the ground and Captain Chromium throws a spear at the heater. The hot air balloon falls to the ground and Winston is arrested. Nova heats up the balloon and soars away into the sky.

Chapter 4

Adrian Everhart is the true identity of "the Sentinel." He's been asleep by Nova's touch for around some hours and he sees that Nightmare got away. He curses himself and her and he tucks his Sentinel armor away. He mentions he knows all the Anarchists by name except Nightmare.

Adrian makes his way to the Renegades headquarters and notes it is the largest building in the entire city. He makes his way down to the medical wing, where Tamaya and Danna are badly injured. He also finds Ruby and Oscar sitting on a bench in Danna's room and the three discuss theories about Nightmare and the Sentinel. He mentions that Evander Wade came up with the Renegade's name and that they started with nothing but themselves (a group of teens) and a worn-down house.

Chapter 5

Adrian walks to the glass quarantine containing 10-year-old Max. Adrian and Max talk about the fight and the parade before Adrian meets up with his father and step-father as the press asks the Renegades about the attack.

Chapter 6

The hot air balloon drops Nova off at "Bracken Way" and she goes into The Anarchists headquarters. Nova meets up with Ingrid and they fight about the attack. Then they make drinks and Nova visits Honey Harper/"Queen Bee" and asks for some honey. Honey gladly gives Nova some honey for Nova's tea and Nova walks past Winston's tents to Leroy's trailer. Leroy Flinn/"Cyanide" is making new poisons via experiments. They talk about the attack on the parade.

Chapter 7

Adrian eats cereal in a living room and has his notebook beside him, which is filled with drawings. He turns on the TV, which is new about the attack on the parade. He turns the TV off after a while and wonders about who Nightmare is. He then goes into a messy office and looks through photos of himself and his mother before she died. He then finds a newspaper clipping about Lady Indomiable (Georgia Rawles, who is Adrian's mother) and reads it. He determines Lady Indomitable was murdered.

Chapter 8

Nova does target practice with her gun when earthquakes rumble throughout the station. Four Renegades (Frostbite, Stingray, Aftershock, and Gargoyle) appear and destroy the food supply and Honey's bee hives. Nova needs to shoot one of them while they try to arrest the Anarchists before The Sentinel shows up.

Chapter 9

The Sentinel tells the four Renegades to back off, as they didn't go on orders. The four then leave and The Sentinel demands to know where Nightmare is. He doesn't know Nightmare's real name is Nova Artino. The Anarchists says they don't know where Nightmare is and Honey tries to leave, calling her insects her "babies" and her "children". The Sentinel steps in front of her and says to the Anarchists that they are still the Council's enemies before leaving, The Anarchists (except Nova) talk about The Sentinel as Nova shreds the flyer she caught at the parade.

Chapter 10

Leroy drives Nova to the Harrow Bay Docks as she thinks about how Ace was murdered and the truth about her parent's deaths. Nova's parents were actually killed by a hitman of the villain group "the Roaches", since David Artino stopped making weapons for the group after reaching a deal with the Renegades. Nova was in the former Anarchist headquarters, a run-down cathedral, when the Day of Triumph occurred. She was 7-years-old and Honey Harper found her in a cellar when Ace died.

Chapter 11

Leroy and Nova talk to Millie, an old woman who lives on a boat in Harrow Bay who has "Psychometry. The ability to see into an object's past." She can also make fake documents. When Nova and Leroy enter, Millie gives the documents. Nova Artino is now "Nova Jean McLain", her "parents" are Robert and Joy McLain, her "uncle" is Peter McLain, and her alias is "Insomnia". Leroy and Nova approve and in Leroy's car, to make the Renegades think she isn't Nightmare, Nova purposely burns her fingers on Leroy's poisonous skin.

Chapter 12

On the day of the Renegade trials, Adrian notes he hates the trials and that Oscar has a bone disorder, which is why he has a cane. The team talks about the trials as Oscar gets some food for the team. The crowd has signs saying "Hero" or "0" to determine which Prodigy should be a superhero. As Oscar comes back with food, the trials begin with Dan Reynolds/"The Crane" (rejected) and "Babble" (identity unknown) (deciding).

Chapter 13

Nova signs up for the trials as "Nova McLain" and her burning her fingers on Leroy's skin works. She is accepted and sits in a locker room, the fact being the arena could be an old sports stadium. The girl before Nova can fly by expanding her head like a balloon. She is rejected. Nova is then announced into the arena.

Adrian sees Nova and thinks that she is the one from the parade with the broken bracelet. Blacklight tells Nova to demonstrate her power and Nova says she always stays awake and she is intelligent in science and chemistry. The crowd is divided. Adrian says "Accepted", while Genissa Clark/"Frostbite" challenges Nova. Nova choose Gargoyle as her competitor.

Chapter 14

Nova realizes one of the teens watching her is Adrian Everhart. She asks for a weapon (precisely a knife) and Genissa makes Nova an icy knife and Nova fights Gargoyle, winning. Nova is deemed a member of the Renegades.

Chapter 15

Adrian wakes up early and gives himself some coffee before going to his room. One side is his actual room and the other side is his artwork station. He mentions "the Sentinel" is based off of a comic he wrote when he was little, called "Rebel Z". The series is discontinued though, since he got bored with it. Adrian marks a cylinder tattoo on himself to make energy beams. The ink Adrian has for his tattoos come from "the Henbane District" of Gatlon City. As Adrian cleans up the mess, Simon Westwood calls him. He finishes wrapping the tattoo, puts on a long-sleeve shirt, and goes to the kitchen. The three talk about the Nightmare investigation and Nova before they go to work.

Chapter 16

Nova is fearful about the Renegade headquarters and goes inside. She goes to the information desk and talk to Sampson Cartwright for a while before Ruby and Oscar find her. They take her to the lounge where Nova changes into her Renegade uniform.

Chapter 17

Adrian enters the lounge to see Oscar and Ruby playing an arcade game. Nova then comes out of the changing room and Adrian tells her the uniform department will give Nova a new uniform. He takes her, with Oscar and Ruby, on a tour of the headquarters.

Adrian takes Nova to "the seventy-fifth floor", where people report status updates and crimes throughout the cities. There is a crime taking place on "Drury Road".

Chapter 18

Adrian takes Nova to the Training Center and sees Maggie/"Magpie" in there. Danna is also in the Training Center, training with "Ballistic". It is mentioned that Danna is severely burned and that "twenty-nine butterflies [as she can turn into butterflies] were burned." A boy named "Flashbolt" is working on his electricity powers. Adrian then takes Nova to see Max/"The Bandit".

Chapter 19

Max/"The Bandit" is playing in his glass enclosure with glass replicas of Gatlon City made by Adrian. Max is deemed "Dangerous" and "Valuable" by Ruby and Oscar. A woman comes in with some needles to take samples of Max's blood and saliva. Adrian then shows Nova the communication device before letting her change into normal clothes in the locker room. Adrian and Nova say goodbye before Nova leaves.

Chapter 20

Nova's supposed home is at "East Ninety-Fourth and Wallowridge". The entire house is trashed and Nova boots the former owner of the house out. The rest of the Anarchists show up to talk to her and they plan what Nova should do to defeat the Renegades.

Chapter 21

Adrian and the others stay in a building across from "Cloven Cross Library" where Gene Cronin/"The Librarian" lives. Oscar brought food, Ruby brought pillows and games, and Adrian got a blanket. They watch for activity in the library and they end of telling their backstories. Oscar's backstory: His mother fell asleep doing laundry and the family cat knocked over the lantern, setting the house on fire. Due to Oscar's bone disability, he couldn't get out fast enough. The Renegades came to the rescue and Tsunami put out the fire as Thunderbird raced a five-year-old Oscar to the hospital. He was deemed dead for ten minutes, but realized he could control smoke at the hospital. Ruby's backstory: Ruby had a grandmother (unknown), parents (unknown), and two brothers (Jade and Sterling). Ruby's grandmother had a jewelry shop "in Queen's Row for nearly forty years" and if thieves came after her jewels, she hid them in hiding places around the house. One night, when Ruby was playing hide-and-seek with her brothers, thieves broke in and Ruby, in haste, found a sack of ruby and swallowed them all. When her attacker made her bled, she killed with the gems that bled. Ruby and her brothers' alias (when they were kids, as inside jokes) were "the Green Machine" and "the Silver Snake". Adrian's backstory: Adrian was born with his power and when he was young, he drew dinosaurs and aliens that accidentally came to life. Georgia thought that a former art teacher should give her son drawing lessons. "Nova McLain" 's Backstory: When Nova was six she had a nightmare about dinosaur and alien drawings coming to life. She's never slept ever since.

Chapter 22

Nova sits on the rooftop watching the library and thinks of how she could tell the others her true backstory, but knows it will only blow her cover. She makes her way to the room and sees the others sleeping, but not Adrian. Nova and Adrian talk and Adrian explains he makes his drawings come to life if he thinks about it as he's drawing (otherwise, it's a normal drawing). Nova tells Adrian to sleep and he does as Nova watches. In the morning, as the library opens, people flood into the library as Ingrid Thompson leaves. As the Renegades wake up, they notice Ingrid and plan to take her down.

Chapter 23

Adrian's team enters the library and ask Narcissa Cronin, Gene Cronin's granddaughter, where Gene Cronin is. She leads them to a mirror and walks right into it. Gene Cronin then appears and asks what he can help the team with. Adrian says that Gene has been on the black market for firearms and has ties to The Anarchists. Gene is shocked and, on Adrian's demand, takes him to the basement, where there are books.... and firearms and Ingrid Thompson waiting to kill.

Chapter 24

Nova is stunned to see Ingrid in the armory. She sneers at Adrian before trying to shoot the band. Nova hisses at Gene about the plan not working (she's still an Anarchist disguised as a Renegade). Ruby and Adrian fight Ingrid before one of Ingrid's bombs sets off. The four are okay and Oscar has been getting people out of the library. Adrian hands Ingrid to Nova (by request) and Nova drags Ingrid to a building, where she cuffs one of "The Detonator" 's hands to the building and runs off to save herself.

Chapter 25

As, Nova walks back to the library, civilians bombard her with questions. Then, screams emerge from the library and a young boy hangs from the second-story floor railing. Nova tries to climb the library, she she falls onto the ground. She puts on her gloves and climbs the wall again, this time succeeds. She gets the kid out with the help of Oscar and Ruby, who are outside the library. The kid zip-lines out the library with Ruby's grappling hook and Gene and Narcissa escape too. The Sentinel intervenes the escape and demands for information on Nightmare. As Gene gives The Sentinel information, the floor breaks and Nova falls into the fire below.

Chapter 26

The Sentinel grabs Nova as she falls into the fire and they escape to the nearby movie theater rooftop. He demands to know about Nightmare and as Narcissa and Gene give information, Ingrid shoots Gene and Narcissa escapes into a broken mirror. Nova demands who The Sentinel really is and she shoots his armor to determine if it's bullet-proof or not. It's bullet-proof and The Sentinel escapes.

Chapter 27

The crowd has grown and Nova, Oscar, and Ruby look for Adrian. An air horn goes off insode the building as Tsunami and Captain Chromium appear. Tsunami puts out the fire and the horn blows more. Eventually, Adrian appears and says he survived the fire by using Nova's pen to draw an air horn and an igloo that came to life. Adrian tells Captain Chromium that the band saw Ingrid and Gene and that Gene was shot by Ingrid. Captain Chromium says that Adrian's theory about The Anarchists being active is confirmed and orders the band to go to headquarters.

Chapter 28

As Nova goes back to The Anarchists subway base, she sees her fellow Anarchists packing up, due to The Renegades coming back. Nova goes inside her trailer and takes clothes, weapons, and her father's bracelet with her. A scream comes from the stairs and Honey says she unleashed a whole hive on The Renegades. Leroy tells Nova that she "and Honey should start heading up to the surface ..... Ingrid will bring down this next section of tunnels, then come up and open a part out of Blackmire Station for us to get through. While's she's doing that, I will be filling this chamber with a cocktail of poisonous vapors And... ..... Phobia will act as our last defense - ready to force back anyone who makes it to the stairs." They all escape, except for Ingrid who was left behind by Nova. The surviving Anarchists travel to Nova's apartment.

Chapter 29

At the top of the Renegade Headquarters is a Throne Room, and Prism, a Prodigy, takes Adrian's band to them. The hall leading to it has water falling into a pond and there are firefly-like lights in the actual room. The original five sit on thrones: (in order from left to right: Evander Wade, Kasumi Hasegawa, Hugh Everhart, Simon Westwood, and Tamaya Rae). Adrian's band and the Council talk about the mission and the Council decides three of probation as punishment. Nova can identify the armory weapons and Adrian can question Winston Pratt about Nightmare.

Chapter 30

Adrian's band goes to the lobby via the elevator and Oscar and Ruby go to the cafeteria as Nova and Adrian visit Max. Max is destroying his glass replica of Cloven Cross Library and Nova corrects Adrian on some of the glass models he's made for Max. Nova then proposes that she and Adrian make Max actual working elevators for the Renegade Headquarters model. Max tells Adrian and Nova that his parents were killed when he was young and that he was thrown off of "Sentry Bridge" by The Roaches, the same villains that killed Nova's family. Captain Chromium and The Dread Warden had saved Max's life. The Roaches were exterminated three months before The Day of Triumph. Max is mentioned to be somewhat Adrian's adoptive brother. Maggie comes up to Nova and Adrian and gives them the folder to interrogate Winston Pratt.

Chapter 31

Adrian's band enter the prison and Adrian is "good cop", Oscar is "bad cop", and Ruby and Nova are backup. Winston is led into the interrogation room and tells them that Nightmare' real name is "Novreen" and that one day, when she was lost at Cosmopolis Park, an amusement park, Ace Anarchy found her and raised her. Adrian's team thinks the story is fishy, but Nova knows Winston told half-truths as he spoke.

Chapter 32

Three days after the Pratt interrogation, Nova likes being at the Renegade Headquarters at night due to the tranquility. She mentions that when she was younger, she went to see patrons at light-night diners and tell them stories. She has a little room for herself near a window in which she only has a constellation chart in it. She has also been identifying the destroyed weapons of The Librarian. While during her assignment, Nova has discovered more information about the Renegades. As she identifies a gun, she sees a report about her family and realizes Captain Chromium was there when Nova's family was killed, but didn't make it in time. Nova had lived in "Kingsborough Apartments" when she was little and her family's ages at time of death are: "David Artino: age 31. Tala Artino: age 30. Evie Artino: age 11 months." Nova tries to read Hugh's report on the scene, but it's password protected. Nova is furious and realizes the Renegades are dictators, not heroes. She sees light come from Max's quarantine and sees the city landscape glowing and Max floating in the air. Nova remembers that she found that Max can absorb something, but she can't find out what it is. As she approaches the quarantine, she accidentally scares Max and Max falls back to the ground, cutting open his arm. Nova gets inside the quarantine to help Max, but blackouts as Max starts sucking Nova's power from her, accidentally.

Chapter 33

Adrian gets sandwiches from a restaurant to feed his fellow Renegades. When he gets back to Headquarters, he sees Nova in Max's quarantine and runs in there. He gets Nova out of the quarantine and Adrian tells Nova why Max is called "The Bandit". Two medics go inside Max's quarantine and Adrian and Nova get out. They talk about how Max got hurt and Nova tells Adrian that Ace Anarchy was defeated by Max "taking" his power of telekinesis.

Chapter 34

Nova is put in the hospital wing and the only things for entertainment are the TV (which shows the news) and some newspapers. Danna comes into the room and she brought "pretzels, some chocolate, some dried fruit chips if that's your thing." She also brought Nova's four books: a thriller, a romance, a nonfiction, and a history book. They talk about the headquarters before Genissa Clark enters the room. Genissa leaves after Nova pokes fun at her and they talk about their fears. Danna is afraid of birds and Nova is afraid of Phobia (but she keeps it a closely guarded secret). Danna and Nova talk about how Adrian saved Nova and Nova realizes she's falling in love with Adrian. Nova then plans to break out of the hospital. She puts Danna to sleep and puts on her regular clothes after calling for a nurse to check on Danna. Nova runs out of the hospital.

Chapter 35

Adrian is helping Max rebuild the entirely of Gatlon City with his power. As Adrian finishes up, Max say he has a little bit of Adrian's power. They talk about Max's powers (he has "Telekinesis from Ace Anarchy, metal manipulation and matter fusing from his birth parents, a bit of invisibility taken from the Dread Warden before he realized what it was he could do. Now, of course, Adrian's power and maybe even some of Nova's.") the events last night, and the Sentinel.

Chapter 36

Nova enters the artifact gallery and realizes that there are five branching corridors for Thunderbird, Blacklight, Tsunami, Captain Chromium, and The Dread Warden independently.  She sees artifacts of other superheroes and when she goes into the Captain Chromium exhibit, she sees Ace Anarchy's helmet. Adrian texts her about leaving the healers. As she picks it up, she sees it's a fake and Simon Westwood find her in the exhibit. Nova tells Simon that the helmet is a fake and Simon says that the real helmet is kept hidden. Nova then asks if Max was involved in the Battle and Simon says yes. Max was a last resort to fight Ace Anarchy (Max was strapped to Hugh Everhart's back) and when Ace realizes he didn't have his power anymore, he jumped into the nearby cathedral fire (The Anarchists' former headquarters) and died. Nova realizes her uncle's helmet is waiting for someone.

Chapter 37

That night, Nova goes to her supposed home (which is now the new temporary Anarchist headquarters) and sees Honey Harper giving herself some honey to eat. Nova goes outside and sees Honey's bees trying to restore their hives quickly. As Nova walks to "Blackmire Way", she hears an explosion and turns around to see Ingrid Thompson leaving against the apartment building. Ingrid blackmails her by telling her that they will fake their deaths after an explosion or Ingrid will reveal who "Nova McLain" really is to the public. She leaves.

Chapter 38

Nova runs back to her house as someone knocks on the door. She rams right into Leroy's makeshift lab, and goes looking to see if all the Anarchists are hidden. Nova then opens the door to see that Adrian is at the front door. He greets her and walks inside the house and Nova explains that the bees in the backyard are her "uncle" 's. They talk about her condition from Max and Adrian draws a bouquet of flowers on a nearby table. He brings them to life and gives them to Nova. Adrian then tells Nova his plan to look into Cosmopolis Park the next day and leaves. Honey Harper and Leroy Flinn were eavesdropping the whole time.

Chapter 39

Adrian and Nova walk to Cosmopolis Park and walk around the park, going incognito about finding Nightmare. As Nova and Adrian decide to go on the Ferris Wheel, there are intercepted by non-Prodigies celebrating a little kid's birthday.

Chapter 40

Adrian entertains the kids as Nova sits back at the front of the tent. A girl approaches Nova and gives her cake. Nova then gets Adrian out of the tent and begin looking for clues about Nightmare's whereabouts in the abandoned part of Cosmopolis Park.

Chapter 41

Adrian and Nova search the fun house about Nightmare's wherabouts and when Nova falls through a trapdoor on the second floor it's up to Adrian to find Nightmare. In one of the rooms, Adrian finds clothing in there and gets out of the fun house to find the Anarchist. Nightmare is on the outside of the building and tries to shoot Adrian, but fails. Ingrid Thompson/"The Detonator" arrives.

Chapter 42

Nightmare tried to shoot The Detonator and Nova accuses Ingrid of betrayal. Nova tries to shoot Ingrid multiple times as Adrian ducks for cover. Nova and Ingrid fight and Adrian tries to get away and shoot Ingrid. Then, Ingrid reveals her and Nova's plan as Ingrid tries to kill Adrian. Adrian and Ingrid fight until Ingrid figures out Adrian is "The Sentinel" as Tamaya, Hugh, Simon, Kasumi, Evander, Oscar, Ruby, and Danna arrive. Ingrid sneers and bombs go off in Cosmopolis Park. Adrian realizes that Ingrid can make bombs go off with a snap of her finger and her thoughts. Nova then shoots Ingrid and collapses into Adrian's arms. Evander says that "Agent N", an antidote, will take away a villain Prodigy's powers and it could've been used for Ingrid (I think Evander is talking about Max or a potion, but that's just me). Nova then runs back home.

Chapter 43

Nova walks through Blackmire Subway Station, thinking about her next plan (probably stealing Ace Anarchy's helmet) and Agent N (the antidote Max is being used for) before running into Phobia. They talk about the day's events and Nova continues walking across the subway. She finds a cathedral tomb in one of the tunnels and says she can get the helmet back. The tomb rumbles and reveals that Ace Anarchy is still alive and has his telekinetic power.
