Rose Charmille was super nervous. She would be meeting Shu's family for the first time.

Although Rose's character had ended up being cut from the show, she had come to think of Shu as one of her best friends. And although she couldn't admit it out loud, she had started to get feelings for Shu.

But she knew that Shu already had a girlfriend, so she kept quiet about it. Only her diary would know about her crush, and she meant to keep it that way.

Rose took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. She knew that Shu's parents, for once, had taken the day off to watch Beyblade Burst with their kids. And she was looking forward to meeting Shu's sisters.

A woman with pink hair in a bun opened the door. She saw Rose and smiled.

"Hello there. You must be Rose. Shu has been talking about you for ages. I'm Shu's mother."

"Nice to meet you," said Rose. "Is Shu up yet?"

"Yes. But try to be quiet. Sora is having a bit of a lie in."

Rose saw Shu playing with a little toddler around twenty months old. "Hi Shu."

Shu smiled at her. "Rose," he said. "Meet my baby sister Kirika."

Kirika giggled. She seemed happy to meet Rose. "Pwetty," she said.

Shu giggled as well. "Kirika says that you're pretty."

Rose blushed a little. "That's cute of your sister."

"Are you hungry?" asked Shu. "I can make you some pancakes."

"I love pancakes!" said Rose.

"You want butter and honey?" asked Shu.

Rose nodded so eagerly it looked like her head would fall off. Shu went off to make pancakes.

Rose thought that Shu's cooking was delicious and said so. Sora was now downstairs at the time.

"Yeah. My baby brother is an amazing cook," said Sora. "He gets it from me."

"Sora," said Shu. "I told you not to call me your baby brother."

Sora ruffled Shu's hair. "You'll always be my baby brother."

Shu rolled his eyes. Really, his sister was such an embarrassment! He turned back to Rose.

"Well, I'm glad that you like my cooking. Seina thinks that I'm only average. But she's used to expensive meals, so..."

Rose noticed Sora frowning when Shu mentioned Seina. It seemed like Sora didn't approve of Shu's relationship with her.

Rose took a bite of her pancakes. They seemed to melt in her mouth.

Soon, Rose sat next to Shu on the couch as they started watching Season 1 of Beyblade Burst.

"Does Sora know about..." Rose whispered to Shu.

"No. I want it to be a surprise," Shu whispered back.

Kirika was smart enough to recognize Shu on the screen, so when she saw the part when Shu hurt himself, she thought that it really happened and started crying.

"Oh, Kirika, don't cry," said Shu. "I'm not hurt. I'm fine. See?"

"Bubba hurt," moaned Kirika.

Shu's father took Kirika for a nap. Shu sighed. "Kirika doesn't know that I was acting. She's just a baby, so I don't blame her."

Shu then looked on his phone and giggled. "Oh, it's Seina. Just a minute."

Rose looked at Shu. She noticed that Shu was a giggly mess when it came with Seina. Rose had never met the girl herself, but she had no doubt that Seina was absolutely gorgeous. But then, it was Shu's own words, not hers.

Rose wondered why Sora didn't seem to like Seina very much, but had no problem with her. Maybe Sora was just being protective over Shu. Older siblings were like that.

"Shu?" she asked. "Do you love Seina?"

"Well, I wouldn't necessarily say love. I'm only eleven. But I really care about her. I want to make sure she's always happy."

Sora then spoke up. "Does Seina make you happy?"

"Of course she does," said Shu. "Why do you ask?"

"Look, let's talk about Valt. Valt treats you with kindness and respect. He is understanding of your boundaries and never makes you do something you don't want to do."

"That's true. But I don't see what Valt has to do with..."

"Now let's talk about Seina. She insults your cooking. She keeps asking you personal questions. She doesn't let you see other girls."

"What?" asked Rose.

"Seina doesn't want Shu to be friends with you," said Sora.

"She's just insecure," said Shu. "She will warm up to Rose eventually. How about I take Rose to meet her?"

Rose had doubts about this. Meet Shu's girlfriend? When she didn't like her?

Shu noticed Rose's uncomfortable expression. "Don't worry. She will see that I don't have romantic feelings for you and see what a wonderful person you are."

Rose felt herself blushing at the compliments Shu gave her. "Well, if it means that much to you, I will meet Seina. Maybe we can be friends."

Shu smiled. "Thanks. It means so much to me."

Sora still looked worried. Rose wondered if Sora knew something she and Shu didn't.
